I binged last night, but despite the binges of late my weight seems to be going down. I know this can't last, one or the other, binging or weight loss has to end soon.
  • July 2020, entered maintenance at 167 lbs, after both my doctor and trainer said I needed to lose no more.
  • August began daily weighing, ranged 163 to 159.
  • September began 160, ended 158, ranged 160 to 154.
  • October began 159, ended 158, ranged from 155 to 162.
  • November began 160, ended 153, ranged from 153 to 164.
  • December averaged 156 and ranged from 151 to 159.
  • January 2021 averaged 155 and ranged from 149 to 160.
  • February averaged 156 but ranged wildly 145 to 166.
  • March averaged 147, ranged from 143 to 153, the high just the one day after surgery.
  • April was not a great month, averaged 157 but ended at 164..., ranged from 147 to 166.
  • May was not-so-great , I averaged 156 and ranged from 149 to 165, unfortunately I ended the month with a binge and up into the 160s
June 2021
  • 1 - 160 lbs
  • 2 - 158 lbs
  • 3 - 156 lbs

A new low for Err!!!

Not much new here, still in the 150s, down a little.
  • July 2020, entered maintenance at 167 lbs, after both my doctor and trainer said I needed to lose no more.
  • August began daily weighing, ranged 163 to 159.
  • September began 160, ended 158, ranged 160 to 154.
  • October began 159, ended 158, ranged from 155 to 162.
  • November began 160, ended 153, ranged from 153 to 164.
  • December averaged 156 and ranged from 151 to 159.
  • January 2021 averaged 155 and ranged from 149 to 160.
  • February averaged 156 but ranged wildly 145 to 166.
  • March averaged 147, ranged from 143 to 153, the high just the one day after surgery.
  • April was not a great month, averaged 157 but ended at 164..., ranged from 147 to 166.
  • May was not-so-great , I averaged 156 and ranged from 149 to 165, unfortunately I ended the month with a binge and up into the 160s
June 2021

This feels so pointless. It's so ridiculous how things are.
You have to look at scale weight as just one measure of progress. And I find weighing every day, though frustrating, has helped me better understand that. Weighing is easy and the traditional way to measure progress to a healthier body, but especially in the short term is a less than perfect measure. Just that we all have a scale in the bathroom, so we weigh pretty easily.

Hang in here with us Tom, it will pay off.

This feels so pointless. It's so ridiculous how things are.
It sucks, especially when you're so close to a nice round number like 250 (or 200 in my case), but 2-3 week plateaus are to be expected every now and then - even when you do everything perfectly. When you step back and look at the big picture, they really don't seem that significant even though you're apt to be banging your head during the midst of one. I had 7+ day plateaus or temporary weight gains in Feb 2020, Sep 2020, Jan 2021, Mar 2021, May 2021, and Jun 2021:

Hey Tom, what Err says is right, you are doing fine! Even if you are not stick with us, it will help you both get back on track and stay there, it sure has helped me.

Mentally, I know this to be true, but at the same time I'm mental lol. I know before during a 25 week losing weight-athon, I gained or maintained 30% of the time. I still went down from 268 to 243. Yet, here I am again trying to go down from 268 to 243 and below. This time seemed to be different because I lost 7 straight weeks in a row. Usually, about the 3-4 week I post a gain and didn't this time. And it looks like I will easily post a gain this week too so that is back to back weeks, which isn't unheard of. What frustrates me the most is that even though this is 5 pounds in 2 weeks, it could take 2 MONTHS to go back down the same weight that came on this quickly. Oh well, I have a LOT of yard work to do today. Maybe, I can burn off some of this water weight. Of this 5 pounds, I really don't think any of it is real weight. The flipside is that my water intake is up. I usually only drink about 30 oz a day and I know I need to drink more. Now it is up around 100 a day. 100 a day is 6 lbs so I can easily keep some of it. Ugh. Still though. For it to be "random", it always picks a goal like you said around even numbers and then it blows it out of the way so I can't reach it. Anyway, I need to get motivated for yard work. There's a chance of rain for the next 7-10 days starting tomorrow. Thanks for listening to me vent!
