Weigh Yourself Everyday (or frequently) Club

I agree LaMa, even a 10 lb range for me would feel ok. At one point I seemed to have that in the 150s, and was pretty happy, but then the wild swings started. Now I seem more stable, been in the 144 to 149 range for the past 2 1/2 weeks, so perhaps stability has returned, we'll see... If I stay in the 140s, which would be ok, I will need to change my signature line, but I would still be happy to be in the 150s. Think I will wait on the signature thing.

I won't be posting my weight as I am too embarrassed
I like to read chycological books because it's very helpfull in my life, according to them you don't need to foollow your fears, for example, you think you are fat and just's can't see yourself in the mirrow...so every morning you need to stand in front of the mirrow and tell yourself that you are beautiful ) from my expirient it works) if you start to respect yourself even with limitations we have it helps to understand other people.

.so every morning you need to stand in front of the mirrow and tell yourself that you are beautiful ) from my expirient it works)
That´s something I´ve been working on lately. Not necessarily telling myself I look beautiful but taking the time to look at myself and try to be objective rather than just focusing on the things I don´t like. It´s not easy but I think it´s getting better.

Great new low, and you are not past me! You must be feeling good about it! And Err holding on vacation and LaMa holding at the new low, all is well there. Hey Natalya, good to see you here. How is your weight doing lately?

Well, I broke the 140s streak and bounded up 5 lbs this morning. Not a bad weight, just a bigger bounce that I would like. I have a theory, yesterday I ate a lot of sodium, more than I have in a while. It was in the form of Frank's Hot Sauce, and did not show up on my diary because it is listed as zero calories. However I eat a lot more of it than most people, enough to have at least a few calories. It has 190 mg of sodium per teaspoon, and I probably had 10 teaspoons yesterday. Will cut back down and see if that makes the weight go back down, if it does I will have learned something.

:rotflmao: I'm neither a doctor nor a mathematician but isn't the recommended maximum sodium intake 2300 mg a day or so? It looks like the guideline is probably a bit too strict for healthy people but that's still a lot of sodium to get just from a condiment!

Amazing!! Go Angel!

Yeah LaMa I know that is a lot. I have always eaten lots of hot sauce and other powerful flavorings. The hot sauce thing may come from my Louisiana origins, they eat lots of hot sauce. Only recently discovered most hot sauce is about half salt. I prefer Tabasco to Franks, but Franks is cheaper. However I eat less Tabasco, its hotter, so I get less salt from it, that also makes the real cost difference less. Yesterday the only hot sauce I had was Dave's Insanity sauce, the hottest I know of, it takes very little of it. I don't like it as well, and its hard to safely handle, on drop on something can be painful. But yesterday I was able to both accurately track and bring my sodium down to below 2,000 mg yesterday, pretty low. It seems to have worked, my weight is back in the 140s, even if barely, this morning. My carbs have also crept up, and that might be adding a little to my water weight as well, but I don't think the carbs are a bad thing, they are still low in the big picture. Not sure I want to try and cut them.

Angel is on a roll!!
Not concerned at all, using different muscles to the point of soreness & eating more refined carbs (still within calorie budget) should mean extra water weight...
Like your attitude, water weight can be a funny thing, I am surprised to learn how much mine can go up and down. There is little reason for my 20 lb swing last month other than water... Speaking of which after controlling my sodium intake my weight is back down now. Err, I think you eat some canned jalapenos, be sure to read the label for sodium content it can be really high. Fresh are better, I prefer fresh serrano, hotter. Threw my Franks Hot Sauce away, and may throw the jars of pickled jalapenos I still have out too, or give them away. I am not sure the water weight matters a lot, but it did teach me that some days I eat a lot more sodium than I probably should. Might not ever have known without this weigh yourself and record it every day thing.

Yeah, I have mostly switched to fresh jalapeños since I had a long plateau last fall that I attributed to sodium. I occasionally eat jarred jalapeños, but only when I run out of fresh and the store is out (happens a fair bit). I gave up pickles too, but still consume a fair bit of jerky.

These days I've been trying to lower sodium less for water weight and more to prevent high blood pressure, but it is hard. I don't add salt to anything, but on a good day my sodium intake is still high: 2500-3500mg. It easily exceeds 5000+ on days where I eat out.

Canned chicken is one of my bigger surprising (to me) culprits at the moment, and spinach was another - an ~80 calorie bundle of fresh spinach has almost 300mg!

Canned chicken? Is that a thing?
I have drastically reduced my sodium intake too for BP reasons as I have an aneurysm. My cardio says salt is one of the biggest killers. I hardly eat any processed food & keep my sodium levels <2300 a day, but it sure took some concentration.

Good to see you holding the losses Err!

This is probably my last weigh in for a week, doubt I will have access to a scale in Louisiana. And it will be interesting to see where I am when I get back, it will be my first vacation where I plan to relax my eating rules, a little anyway. Yeah Cate, keeping it under 2,300 mg/day can be hard sometimes. Not eating processed foods helps.

It's 4 am here, and I am off to the airport soon.
