Nice new low LaMa!! And Err good to see you are holding the losses and staying in the mid 220s, I am sure you will be headed down again soon.

I am down to 149, my previous low. January 20, about a month ago, I was at 149 then the gain began, bounced a lot but got up to a high of 166 on February 4 and now am back down to the 149 again. A 17 pound range, all without, I am pretty sure, and fat gain or loss... If nothing else I suppose I am learning something about my body. Anyway I believe, or hope, that this is the bottom, don't want to lose any more.

Vic and Err, good to see you holding your losses, Vic still in the 130s and Err in the mid 230s. About 100 lbs apart.

Well I am down to a new low, and 19 pounds below where I was just a couple of weeks ago to 147. Its lower than I had wanted to be, but I have learned that my weight does what it wants. My dieting and exercise gets me into a general range, but these ups and downs seem to be out of my hands. This last few pounds, lost on the new diet, may be from cutting carbs and I am trying to control the sodium. However I have also been eating a few more calories, so who knows. I will try to treat it like the recent gains, just watch it and if it continues consider changing my diet, but for now I will just go with patience.

Can't complain about that with shark week in full swing. Decided to make my new lows green like Err does, to show myself how quickly I've really been losing weight. 4 kg in 2 months is amazing for me and still I'm convinced every night I'll be heavier in the morning.
 
Err, I suspect some of your swings are damped, or appear to be, by your losses. Like now, you have been holding in the mid 220s for a while without significant change in your diet or exercise, but we know you have to be losing fat. If you were in maintenance that would be a gain, a swing up that you are not seeing. I am pretty sure a rapid drop is coming for you, it always does. So rather than up and down swings you see plateaus and quick drops. That is pretty normal I think, its the way my weight loss went too.

2 kg a month is pretty amazing, you are doing great. I understand that feeling I often wake up thinking my weight loss is going away, my greatest fear these days. Think I will stick with the bold blacks for new lows, not as happy for me as y'all still trying to shed pounds.

And then it was 20, down to 146 this morning so now my latest swing is a full 20 lbs... Not really a whole pound since yesterday, but using my rounding rule it looks that way. Still down though. Maybe I suffered a shark bite, its the right week I guess...

Yeah. A normal 40 year old male my height (67.5 inches) should have between 24 and 39 pounds of body fat - a threshold I hope to reach by June 1...

Thanks Err, and congrats on the continued decline in body fat! Gaining lean is good for you too, I assume that is muscle. Gaining muscle whilst losing so much weight is great!

My February has been a wild ride, and ends with a small rise, but not much, still pretty low. Averaged 156 and ranged from 145 to 166. The average is deceptively close to prior months, but the range, 21 lbs, is the most I have seen since I started dieting over a year and a half ago. On to March!
  • August began 161, ended 159, ranged 163 to 159.
  • September began 160, ended 158, ranged 160 to 154.
  • October began 159, ended 158, ranged from 155 to 162.
  • November began 160, ended 153, ranged from 153 to 164.
  • December averaged 156 and ranged from 151 to 159.
