Good new low Vic! You are so close to the 130s, it will happen. And LaMa it looks to me like 76.1 is your lowest since December 21, I don't see any "gained over my lockdown vacation". Anyway, good to have the water weight gone. And Err you are down a little, getting close to a new low I believe.

My weight has continued to drift slowly upward since New Year's Day, but still within my target range, I will try not to worry about it.

Heh, could´ve sworn I was down to 75.6 kg right before Christmas/on but looking back it was only 75.9. The advantage of measuring over relying on my patchy memory :)

Yeah, I agree, tracking my daily weight here has helped, better than relying on memory. Mine seems to be getting more patchy, or I think it is really but can't remember what it used to be!

Nothing new here, good news.

I'm changing the format a bit to include my scale's BIA body fat reading right after exercise and a shower. This is usually the lowest reading of the day and is nearly as consistent as the BIA reading first thing in the morning (usually the highest of the day). Going forward, my lean & fat masses will be estimated based on an average of the two BIAs averaged with the navy method. My hope is this will track closer to the dexa scans.

I may be burying the lede here, but I got a positive covid result last night. It was a bit of a surprise - I only took the PCR test out of an abundance of caution after learning the friend I snowshoed with on the 1st had started running a fever (it has since broke). We both wore surgical masks the whole time, but we did carpool...

I have had no symptoms thus far. But that means I will no longer be walking or running since I'll be confined to home for the next 10 days (or until I get two negative tests 24 hours apart). And, in order to give my body plenty of fuel to fight the infection, I will be increasing my calories to 2550 which is my estimated maintenance level without exercise. Those extra ~800 calories will primarily come from carbs in the form of fruits & veggies so I can load up on natural vitamins and antioxidants. All of this means I will be anticipating some water weight gain in the coming days...

Hey Err, I hope you continue to have no symptoms! You are wise to up your calories a bit to fight this thing, your health is more important than short term weight loss or gain. You can restart your diet when this has past. Take care!

What Rob said. Take care and let's hope for you to stay asymptomatic. Given how much obesity seems to influence the impact of this disease your weightloss couldn't have come at a better time.

76.5 kg, 33.3% fat, 48.6% water on 01/10 Could be salt from the crackers I had for dinner, could be bloat from whatever I reacted to afterward. I know, I know: it's just half a kilo and therefore not important (and that's true!) but even half-kilos have reasons and I like to understand them. One thing that's become clear is that the water number from my scale is completely useless, at least short-term. I'll keep tracking it to see where it goes long-term but it can't help me make sense of bloat vs weight gain. Which is what I'd vaguely hoped for. Then again: my brain usually can so that's ok.
