Impressive!! As you know all too well day to day bobbing is to be expected, even when losing weight, you are doing great. So long as you continue to see new lows all is good.

Err, it won't be long before you are well into the 250s, and below, the 260s will soon be a distant memory. Like mine...

Korrie, down almost 3 lbs this week and almost 8 in the past 2 weeks is really amazing, keep it up!

Happy Black Friday! One of the least important holidays of the year. Err see you are still chasing the 250s, you will be there soon. What's going on Steph? Nobody gains 7 lbs of fat in 3 days, I am guessing its some kind of water bounce, one that I hope reverses itself quickly.

I didn't do terrible on Thanksgiving despite ample temptation from all of the various desserts lovingly created by the womenfolk. After hearing about all the time & effort that went into their preparations (one particularly delicious apple pie took 8 hours), total abstinence seemed to offend so I wound up sampling ridiculously small slivers to keep the peace. Even that meant eating more simple carbs than normal which had me low on protein so I wound up munching on an extra 240 calories worth of plain turkey breast later. First world problems for sure...

After my morning 5k, 1800 calories still should have been a ~1200 calorie deficit for the day, but pretty much everything had added salt so I gained 3/4" at my navel this morning (reflected in the jump in my estimated body fat). That should go away quickly these next few days so I look forward to new lows (and *finally* getting into the 250s).

Hey Err, sounds like you did a lot better than just not terrible! I know the problem of insulting people by not eating something, a prized desert especially. I think you did the right thing. Any day now I expect to see you in the 250s, it will happen.

I've been doing a lot of core & abdominal exercises which seems to have slimmed my waistline considerably these last 3 weeks. The only "problem" is the Navy bodyfat calculation I do is based largely on my circumference at the navel so my Navy BF estimation has plummeted unrealistically in recent weeks. Put simply, there is zero chance I've lost 10 lbs of body fat with no loss (or even a slight gain) in muscle mass in only 2 weeks.

So I bit the bullet and bought a Tanita bio-impedance body fat scale and will be noting its readings going forward. Tanita is one of the more reputable manufacturers (often used in bariatric clinics), but bio-impedance estimations are known to be off by up to 5%. Still, if used consistently readings should follow the actual trend (the trend should have a 99% correlation with Dexa Scans) so I'm hopeful the truth with lie somewhere between the Navy & Tanita BF numbers.

I got the scale yesterday afternoon and checked myself throughout the day; BF readings ranged from 35.0% to 38.0%. For best accuracy, Tanita recommends measuring body fat at least 3 hours after waking up, eating, or exercising to ensure proper hydration, but since I pretty much never go 3 hours without eating, exercising, or sleep I'll be using it immediately after waking up (when slightly dehydrated) for consistency.

I'm sitting here feeling very irritated right now. Theres NO WAY I gained 5lbs. I expected this week to be a maintenance week. My daughters bday was the 22nd, then thanksgiving on the 26, then my husbands bday on the 29th....so maybe a lb or two..but 5!?!? theres NO WAY I DID NOT eat that much!!! All I can do is move on I suppose. I have decided to start counting calories at this point. Going sugar free by itself will only work for so long.

Hey Korrie, you are right, there is no way you gained 5 lbs of fat, it has to be mostly water and temporary! Err, congrats on the new low BF, and holding well into the 250s! Good job holding Steph, I am sure you'll be headed down again soon.

Well I had another new low this morning, 152 lbs. Just yesterday I had decided to up my calories a little, I really don't want to get too low. However so long as I am in the 150s I am happy. I do still feel a bit of fat on my body, so no anorexia problem here... This makes me down 168 lbs since I started my diet here on the forum in May 2019, that's an even 12 stone, a kind of milestone.

After losing over 160 lbs I am in maintenance and trying to stay somewhere in the 150s. My gain into the 160s in October 2019 was likely surgery related edema, and not fat.
