I've had that pleasant sort of muscle soreness the last few days so I'm not surprised by the pause in weight loss. Apparently muscle building/repair causes minor swelling that can add weight for 3-4 days... I did tie my record body fat low, which is reassuring...

Err, your "planned" and even "unplanned" overages don't look like a lot over, were they special occasions?
More of a binge prophylaxis. My ~1425 target is based on normal daily exercise of about 80-90 minutes of very light exercise (~10,000 steps & estimated additional ~300 burned calories). I've noticed on days that I do substantially more exercise - particularly high intensity - I get very hungry and find myself once again tempted to empty the cupboard. So I've been adding ~200 calories on those days and it seems to keep me right below the hunger threshold.

The day after very strenuous exercise I also seem to be a bit more hungry than normal, but so far it hasn't been too tempting to overeat. It is something I'll keep an eye on though.

The unplanned overage was just a calorie calculating goof - I was having take-n-bake pizza with my sister to celebrate her recent accomplishments and I copied down 420 calories for my 2 slices of thin crust vegetarian pizza. Unfortunately, I'd cut the pizza into 8ths and Papa Murphy's nutrition data was based on cutting the pie into 12ths so my two slices were actually 630 calories...

Margaret another new low!! Good for you!

Thanks for the info on your post op-weight, it helps me to not worry so much about mine but I am up a little more this morning. Its been 6 days now since my surgery and I am up 7 pounds from my weight the morning of the surgery, just before going in. I am not on any medications now, and was only on the pain killers for the first 24 hours, antibiotics a little longer. I was prescribed pain killers, but since leaving the hospital have not needed to take any. Rationally I know its impossible to gain that much fat in a week, and given what I am eating I likely have gained none. Guess I will just stay the course a while longer and see what happens. Margaret you are right this is a great place to talk with folks who share our problems. Where else would I find someone who has experienced postoperative edema and understands my concerns about it to talk to. Thanks for your counsel!

Thanks Err, you are being quite diligent in tracking your calories, the whole take-n-bake pizza thing is a good example. I know from my own experience how important it is, some people would say we get obsessed with it, but whatever you call it, it is what we have to do. Keep up the good work, what you are doing is very impressive.

Hang in there Rob - your body will right itself if you just ignore your weight - but maintain your behaviour as best you can... You are heavier than you were pre-op but it is NOT fat. When the internal bruising subsides all will be well.

New body fat percentage low. If history repeats, I'll drop a pound or two suddenly sometime in the next few days...

Amazing Margaret, you really have fallen off that plateau!! And Err congrats on the new body fat low, probably more important than weight. And thanks to you both for your support and advice. I can't ignore my weight, but, thanks in large part to you, LaMa, and others on the forum I know I should not let it effect what I am doing, not until the surgery has had time to wear off. Down a little this morning, still heavier than pre-op, but headed in the right direction.

As predicted yesterday, I'm seeing a sudden drop in weight... It is weird how body fat jumped up, but I think this is more due to a quirk in the navy calculation: my waist measurement is nearly identical to yesterday's, but my neck size is down today. Some of this is likely measurement error/tolerance, but some of it is just my body doing weird things...

Wow, that is a big drop, good for you. I remember when I was in the losing phase, its funny how weight loss comes in fits and spurts. Eating more or less the same diet with the same level of exercise I lost no weigh some weeks, and 7 pounds a couple of times. Keep up the great work!
