<digression>
I was doing really well yesterday and had met my daily protein & fiber goals having had only ~1200 calories. I wasn't even hungry at 7:30pm when I decided I'd better have a snack to prevent any late night hunger. But after I had ~100 calories worth of olives, I suddenly became voraciously hungry and devoured another 300 calories worth of jerky & nuts before feeling halfway sated. Compared to eating habits before the diet this was just a baby binge, but it was very frustrating to see control slipping away after being so good for so long.

I hit a new low this morning - and a new quarter century - but I don't feel like I deserved it. Trying to stay positive: I was still at a ~700 calorie deficit yesterday and today is a new day...
</digression>

Hey Err, congrats on the new low! And it is certainly deserved, it comes from a lot of hard work, the 300 calories did not make any real difference in your weight loss. You are however wise to keep diligent, I know how easy it is to slip into a binge. You caught this one before it got there, but it was still a little slip. Catching it is what matters. As I have said many times I am never more that 5 minutes away from a binge, that despite not really bingeing in about a year and a half now, diligence is what we all have to practice.

I am a bit frustrated this morning it has been 2 weeks since my surgery now and I am still up 5 lbs. 160 is a healthy weight for me, that is not what I worry about. I am concerned however that I somehow managed to gain about 5 pounds. Understanding how and why would make me feel better. I will try and stay on course, and not cut calories to lose the 5 pounds, but any further gain will have me cutting...

Err - you have had some brilliant new lows. Well done! :party:

Rob - your body has had a shock with the surgery. You are maintaining beautifully - all your gain was at the time of the surgery and everything since then is downwards... Hold tight - things will come good.

My weight has been bobbing along so much in that bottom pound (and I've been extra busy) so it hasn't seemed worth me posting... For the record - here is my catch-up position...

Thanks Err and Margaret, I do think I have added some belly fat, I can see and feel it, not a lot and maybe it has to do with little exercise, don't know but I don't like it. I may cut calories a little by trimming my evening snack, but won't do anything big for a couple of weeks, when I can restart the gym exercises. I appreciate your voices of reason. And Err my determination is no greater than yours or Margaret, I think seeing each other's is a big help to us all. And I am very glad to have you here!

Today's new low is nothing to celebrate...
I have picked up a tummy bug - and have had a night of pain and diarrhoea...

I know that I haven't a temperature (we check numerous times a day with being responsible for a 98 year old) and there is no cough,
no change to my senses of taste or smell so I'm pretty sure that it isn't "the virus"...

My step count has been lower the past few days as I have felt under the weather.. It is barely going to get off zero today...

Sorry you're sick Omega, I hope you feel better soon!

Rob that gain is crazy cause it seems like you are still eating very well. I'm racking my brain and have to stretch to suppose it is maybe because you aren't doing strength training right now? I don't know, I'd hold the course unless you hit 165 because I expect you to dive back into the 150s once you're back to 100% activity...
