Vic’s Weight Loss

My sis Halloween party is this Saturday. I’m going as a Roman Empress. Should be fun. I really want to be the lowest weight as I can be. No one has said anything about my weight loss yet. There are going to be a lot of unhealthy foods there. Maybe appetizers.

Hi, Vic. The party should be fun & I'm sure you will look lovely. Can you take some healthy food as well?

I will be bringing birds nest for the party. So somewhat healthy and they will have lettuce wraps.

today I was at 134.8 lbs. but I had a chicken sandwich and chocolate croissant from Panera. Then I went by my younger sis and had stew chicken brown rice and vegetables.

I got my dna results. So I’m 50% central and South Asian (this is my mom side since she is Indian from Trinidad) , (the rest is from I’m sure my dad who was Puerto Rican) 21% European - Spanish and Portuguese, 15% sub Saharan African 7.5% native american (probably tianos) and 4% North African. It said that i have ancestors from the Caribbean from ponce, Puerto Rico.

I also got my health reports. I have to read a tutorial for each of the traits. Will probably go over them tomorrow.

I have to get up early tomorrow and go by my older sis place to let the cleaners in. Then I have to wait till they are done.

then on Friday. I have to go to Bedford to a women’s health appt. I actually got my period so I don’t need to go in. But I also have to get my sis off my release of info. Then after my appointments I’ll go to traders joe to get some apps.

It sounds like everythings going really well - though I don't understand what "read a tutorial" means.
And that's okay !- there's lots of things in life I don't understand! Actually, speaking of things I don't understand - what's a "bird's nest" in eating terms?

Wow, you have quite a mixture of different races and ancestries in your genes. That's really cool. I didn't think Trinidad is in central or south Asia? You'd make a great research subject since most research subjects are white. There's a company called Nebula Genomics that allows you to keep your sequenced DNA data and companies will pay you to use it in their research. I'm not affiliated, I just find it interesting. In general, there's a big need for better representation and more variety in genetic research studies.

Hey Vic, you can do the party. My approach has been to put a little food on my plate and the circulate without eating much. Plan what you want to and can eat and stick to it. Don't starve, but don't eat a whole lot. Its not too hard. Amy had a great line for parties "something not something", but I can't remember it now, if it comes to me I'll let you know, or maybe Amy will read this and tell us.

That is an impressive mix! You are a one person American melting pot! Assuming you are American. I had a next door neighbor from Trinidad once, she told me about the mix of folks there, Asian Indian, Chinese, and the usual Caribbean mix. I am surprised your mother is 100% Asian Indian. Puerto Rico is also a good melting pot of genes, sounds like that describes your father pretty well. My neice's ex is Puerto Rican, I remember when she was expecting she was betting on a red head, and his family said no way, not for a half Puerto Rican. Sure enough the kid's a red head, otherwise he looks kind of Pueto Rican, a good mix. I think ancestry is interesting.

A birds nest is a julienne of carrots and zucchini with onions and baby spinach and a touch of kale. I don’t know what binds them. You bake them. It’s from Trader Joe’s.

Trinidad is in the Caribbean.

Not doing good with the eating. Last night and this morning I had hot cakes from McDonald‘s.

A birds nest sounds wonderful. I had googled it & came up with so many different things. What do you put in yours, Vic?

The bird's nest sounds good - maybe it's bound together with a very light egg batter? It sounds just right for a party buffet contribution that won't blow anyone's diet. And Rob's words for enjoying parties without bingeing are spot-on, too:

Happy to! The line was "circulate, don't masticate!"

Cate, I buy it premade.

137.2 lbs. I’m not doing good eating and exercising wise. I will start over on Sunday.

Today I’m at the VA for my appointment. It’s not needed since I did get my period two weeks ago. But I really came to get my sis off my release of information. Then I’m going to Trader Joe’s.

Hi, Vic. I knew you bought them premade, but assumed the birds' nest got filled with something. I have never seen them. I loved Trader Joe's in Baltimore. I think it was my sister's favourite store.
I love seeing you looking after yourself well, hon. Have a nice weekend xoxo

Lol, yeah I see what you mean now, Cate! No it’s just looks like a birds nest. The binder is tempura batter.

133.0 lbs. New low!!! That’s 30 lbs since my high weight! Yesterday I fasted all day. I did eat bread and butter pickles. They are so delicious.

Today I’m fasting till the party. I plan on grazing. I hope I don’t undo all my hard work!!!

My sis birthday is on Monday. Then on Tuesday my furniture is coming. Can’t wait. Putting it on my loft.

Thanks, Rob!

I did ended up eating breakfast of an egg and a ham slice. And drinking coffee.

Decided that I did not want to be starving when I get to the party.

I went to the gym and walked on the highest incline. I even upped my speed to 3.6 mph at times. For an hour. I burnt about 800 cal on cardio alone. Then I did some lower body exercises and a couple upper body on the machines. I feel so good from working out. I’ll definitely go again tomorrow.

Nice, Vic! That's some serious walking. I have done a lot of similar level walking and it feels good doesn't it? I think the next level for you is running!
