I would prefer St Croix for the warm, but I imagine there are more sharks in St Croix. You know Cows Kill More People Than Sharks the world is full of danger, LOL.No, Rob, I don’t swim at these New England beaches. I can’t see the bottom. And I’m scared of sharks so I don’t go far. But back home (St Croix) I do swim.
Growing up in Louisiana all water is muddy, you can never see the bottom. In Florida it was a mix, but the closest water to my home was not clear. So I got used to muddy water and muddy bottom, no fish problems yet.I don't like swimming in waters I can't see the bottom of either, especially when I know they could contain large fish (even when they aren't sharks).
Especially true here in Austria, where we don't have sea access but we do have lots of trails running through fields with cows in them. It's usually tourists and/or people who bring their dogs when they aren't allowed but I give cows as wide a berth as I can regardless.
Where I went to college the water was also always muddy. I swam quite a bit but I was never not terrified, even though no large fish occur anywhere close. I did like the small snakes and occasional kingfisher I'd come across if I went out early.Growing up in Louisiana all water is muddy, you can never see the bottom.
