Typhon & TonyM: No Rules!

Rich where you at?

Sorry, been kinda busy, just logging in for a few minutes in the morning at the moment. I spent all weekend stripping paint, repairing damaged walls and painting.

I also haven't been feeling too well recently and haven't been eating much so my energy is drained, I'm going on a lot of meetings and have lots of work pressure to add to it.

I'll be back in the gym at lunch and plan on doing wall sqauts and single leg squats tonight at home

Reading your post that says you buy Mens Fitness has just motivated me big time. I'm gonna be doing some killer moves tonight

Oh, and one cool thing I found in the gym last week:

I tried doing single arm RDL's, making sure the DB stopped on the floor at the end of every rep, and it hit my spinal erectors and hams really well. It was an 88lb DB so the depth is lower that you'd get from a BB so ROM was increased

Kills the obliques as well :sport:

Right, I need to start posting some cool training again very soon as I have important meetings for the rest of the week and will be out of the office.

I'm going to be squating today, anybody have any suggestions for what I could do? I fancy trying something new, I might squat for time like Tony suggested but I can't see a clock from the squat rack and I can't really look at my watch while squatting

Why not try picking a light weight and then seeing if you can squat something like sets of 100. Or, with similar weight, bang out as many speed squats as you can. I do this randomly once in a while (the insane high rep) and it's pretty fun. If you like crying. ;)

If you do the speed reps, it will be sort of like a time trial, as you can stop when you slow down noticeably, counting each rep as as one second. It will average out, I think. Usually does, for me. But uh, don't bounce. Gotta be in complete control up and down with the */0/* tempo.

I didn’t do anything special in the gym today, just did single arm RDL’s (3x10 @ 93.5), single leg leg presses (3x10 @ 194), single leg calf raises (3x14 @ 194) and high reps of OH pressing behind the head @ 66lbs.

I weighed myself and I was right, I’ve lost a lot of weight, I’m down to 220 from about 228 a few weeks back. It’s been pretty tough at home and I’ve been doing all the housework, cooking & cleaning and stuff when I get home which has left me exhausted and unable to eat as much as usual. I’m also feeling dizzy and sick a lot of the time. Fortunately my lifts don’t seem to be suffering yet so hopefully it’s mainly been fat that I’ve lost

OK, I’m a lazy bugger, I know, but been a bit too busy and under stress lately to be bothered to post training (have been training every weekday though). I went to see a potential client yesterday, a financial specialist, needless to say that yesterday afternoon was not a good time to be pitching for business from the corporate finance sector!

Anyway, just got back from the gym, I’m down to a puny 100kg!!! Needless to say there is a reason for my weight drop which I’ll tell you all about one day in the future but right now training and eating is at about number 99 on my list of priorities and eating my regular diet is simply not an option so bear with me and I’ll return with a bang in due course

Today’s training

Squats
1x? @ 220lbs – Warm up ATG
2x10 @ 310 – below parallel
1x12 @ 310 – below parallel
1x 14 @ 220 Warm down ATG

(Some calf raises also thrown in between sets)

Single arm DB RDL’s
3x10 @ 94

DB shrugs
3x14@ 94

I left early after this as feeling very sick and dizzy, the drop in calorie intake is badly effecting the training, the up side is that I’m getting a nice little line running up the middle of my quads as the definition is coming, haha, I love vanity

I’ll see if I can get some more pictures of my home training soon

Wish i was losing weight, after my hols and everything, im probably the same 224ish lbs! I wanna see this 300lb monster Typhon :D

BTW, you squat like a *****ing machine!

That 300lbs feels like miles away right now. I need to get a few other things in my life sorted out before I get back to putting that much effort into training and eating again!

I want to get up to doing 400lbs for reps :D I can knock out 2 or 3 at 400 right now but to do 3x10 would be fantastic

I haven't been eating very well recently which has left me with a bad case of DOMS, my legs are still sore from Tuesday. I tried eating about 4 or 5 Chicken Breasts last night to fuel some repair overnight but it doesn't seem to have done much

Anyway, yesterday I did some basic upper body stuff, MP, BP, and single arm rows. I'm pretty pleased with the single arm cable rows as I went up to a set of 10 @ 187 without much of a problem

Sorry for not updating much recently, today I did;

Squats (odd numbers caused by one lonesome 45lb plate mixed in with the regular 20kg ones)
1x@ 309
1x10@ 331
8x 331 + 4x309

I'm getting my mid-range rep squats up nicely right now

Single arm DB RDL's
3x10@ 93.5

Single leg leg press (explosive jump)
3x10 @ 174

Calf raises
2x20@ 174 each leg

Forgotten what I did yesterday but it was probably cool

I might do more pulling tomorrow

Nothing major to report today, did some benching (4x10), cable flys (3x10), curls, Bradford presses, single arm cable pulldowns, nothing to get excited about

However, I watched Rocky 4 the other night on TV and did some of these

They're pretty cool :D

I have no idea about max numbers, I was doing 4x10@ 154, trying to feel it through the pecs rather than just getting the BB up

you did those? dragonflags I think they're called. I can't even get one! They are extreme!

Getting the feel for it in the pecs? Have you been reading bodybuilding mags again? :p
