Weight-Loss The Red Team Thread

Weight-Loss
sorry morph this challenge has already started and the teams have been formed and we have already started the elimination process. You can join the January 7lb challenge if you would like, I think they are accepting new members any time.

i got my fiber in! Pears, beans, wheat bread, protein shake and an apple. yum yum! Keep it up guys! We don't want to be last!

I'm sorry, guys...I'll probably get kicked off this week (seeing as I barely made it this week). >D This fiber stuff is preeetty hard. My mom was out shopping and I asked her to get some stuff, but she forgot what I asked for. @_@ My knee still hurts too, so I'm not exercising just yet. I'll think I'll just have to suck it up for the rest of the week. I'm not giving up!!

Beckie-go Beckie go, go Beckie go!!!!! Dont give up. Do I see that your ticker says your'e just about to break the 200mark? What a great achievement you have looming just a bit ahead, great job, keep up the good work. DOnt forget beans bran brocolli are the highest but most all veggies have a significant count and you can count an apple for 3.88-4 for a small/med size one. I bet you can find some stuff around your house you're not even aware of! Keep it up girl and dont stress, we are only on our 3rd day!

So since I like hot cereal in the winter I had just read about a new way to prepare my cereal I eat barley or 12 grain but I am sure you could do it with oatmeal. I put the grains in a crock pot with lots of water (barley is 4parts water to 1 part barley) then add cinnamon whatever spices dates figs or there are other options too. I bought some dates and figs at the store since I have only ever used them once and lwo and behold they are fiber powerhouses! Yeah. Will post my totals later tonight. I am also going to try sliced apples and walnuts another morning, yummy.

so is anyone else root-a-toot-tooting?

Beckie, you are doing great. I am very proud that you don't give up. Mom, fantastic fiber result. Well done!!! I had only 26.1 g of fiber yesterday, I easily could have had more but fiber comes with calories unfortunatelly and I am very scared that I might be kicked off next week as I am not losing at all :cuss: The scales aren't moving anymore :(
I also noticed that my stomach is little bloated and it does funny sounds. I do visit the loo 2 days in a row which is not very common for me as well. Stay strong red team. We never know how things will develop for us! :Angel_anim:

Fruit is good, too. Apples and oranges are loaded with fiber. One large orange has 4.4 grams and not too many calories. Mom2 is right about the oatmeal--mine has 6g of fiber in one packet.

Well I have some major work to do this week to get out from under today, hubby wanted to take me to dinner and I decided if I had a healthful dinner then I would indulge in a bit of dessert, hubby said he would have some but didnt so I ate an entire piece of chocolate decadence cake--major calories and my guess would be no fiber LOL I tried looking up calories on fitday but have no idea I'm guessing as fudgey as it was that it would be ALOT.

Sunday
hot barley cereal with dates figs (ate some extra dates figs ahead of time too) yogurt (large serving) 9+13.5
eggbeaters with scallions and parsley 0
special K 1.5
3 clementines beef jerky 6.48
banana 3.6
grilled chicken pita mushrooms onions lettuce tomato pickle CHOCOLATE DECADENCE CAKE ((((OMG)))) 4.28
TOTAL FIBER=38.36
*No activity :-( *Not pedometer

Hi Guys! How're we all doing? Keep getting that fiber in and exercising! Lets make it our personal team goal NOT to be last this time around.

Had a riding lesson today...man! It was hard! I had to post for as long as I could....man oh man... my legs are killing me right now, but in a good way!

I had 30.8 g of fiber yesterday. However I am worried that I have completely stopped losing weight. I might be kicked off this week. :smash:

wulsk-don't get down! You are doing truly great, your eating has been right on key never missing a beat, as long as you get your fiber in and excercise even if you dont loose I bet you wont be eliminated, besides the points are cumulative so you have a bit of a buffer from doing so well last week!

I tried to blast some calories off at the gym today so was doing some reading and jumping rope as well as climbing stairs is a great way to blast calories, I think I am going to walk up and down the stairs today on rbeak with walking the halls instead of just walking our halls. Just remember its all about calories in calories out (I must have forgotten this during my t-bone steak and chocolate cake splurges this weekend LOL). Seriously you are doing phenomenal!

ps if it makes you feel better I weighed in a +2lbs this mroning--yikes, and its not even 'that time' yet

Well, I got my fiber in yesterday - didn't do so well on the calorie count though. My boyfriend and I met some friends that we haven't seen for awhile at Fridays - and let's just say I splurged! I paid for it though - once my body gets used to eating healthy, I get sick to my stomach if I get off track. I didn't exercise yesterday either..needed to take a day of rest because my knees were killing me. But I'm back in full force today! Gotta make up for missed minutes!

Hope everyone is doing well!

I am finding the fibre bonus easy because I normally eat a lot of fibre. Each day so far I have had approx 40g fibre.

My food is all listed in my diary.

Wulsk - I strongly suspect that if you get all your exercise points and bonus points (which I anticipate you doing) you will end the week in first place within this team. You lost 3.4 pounds more than me last week.

Awww girls, you are so nice for encouraging me! That's so noble! I hope this week we will somehow come first and our team will survive. I have been very strict with the exercises and the fiber and will continue this way. I haven't visited the loo today despite the 30 g fiber yesterday :cuss: My bowels movement is never good :( Last challenge I was losing LOTS of weight - virtually every day I'd become lighter and lighter so I expected that it will happen again but seems it is not possible and I will have to accept things as they are.
:leaving:

203 this morning! And I haven't seen it bounce back yet! whoopee!!! I'm hoping to see "one-derland" soon! Got a bunch of fiber in this morning (9g) and I've still got two more meals to go! woot! I'm super excited!

Wulsk - it is extra important to make sure that you drink at least 2 litres of water a day if you are eating a high fibre diet. Otherwise you risk constipation. Most people think that you get constipated if you do not eat enough fibre. Water helps - drink 2 litres.

Xori, I wish you see the onederland soon and enjoy the happy feeling :) I was about to ask you - do you think that horse riding can help in losing weight. Generally do you think it can be considered an exercise? I am curious. :)

Omega, you are definitelly right but I do drink 1.5 l of water a day and another 3 mugs of liquid and I have some fiber every day (maybe not as much as this week of course) but I always had this problem since my childhood. I just don't produce enough sh..s :smash: lol I might continue countring fiber and increase the water and observe myself for let's say a month to see if it will lead to better results.

Hey!
hows everyone doing this week so far?
Must say that this challenge isn't as easy as last week but not as hard as I first thought!
Didn't realise how much fibre I was eating anyway!
Omega just been reading your diary and just wanted to say congrats on crossing another milestone!"
can't wait till I get down to that weight!

Hope everyones doing well with the exericse too!

Come on red team!

Wulsk, I so sympathize with you, though the week isn't over so dont count your chickens til they're hatched (translation: dont worry until weigh-in day ha ha). We can control the exercise and try our best to get every challenge point, but weight plateaus are something which are sometimes out of our control. I've been on a plateau since June despite many many strict attempts at getting past my lowest weight.

Remember Team, there's always the possibility that we will come in first this week!? Let's just try to do our best with getting all our bonus points.

So far this week I've done 90 minutes of exercise. I will plan to go to the gym at lunch time for 1 hour as well (ugh, that's coming up shortly grrrrrrrrr).

I've been good with the fiber because I've been eating lots of frozen fruit in my new favorite, my homemade sorbet. I bought some veggies yesterday that I will sautee tonight, including shiitake mushrooms and fresh green beans. I'll cook it in a bit of fresh garlic.

:seeya:

oh most definately it can be considered an exercise...on fitday, I looked up riding, and for an hour with all the components put together, you can burn up to 800-900 cals...it all depends on what you do. English is more of a workout because it requires much more focused leg strength, Western is more sitting, but, if you ride, not sit, on a saddle, (that means, keeping balance and using entire body to give direction and keep balanced) then it's still a great form of exercise. And it's fun! also, the more advanced you get, the harder you work, jumping, steeplechase, endurance riding...all of those take up major points for major workouts!:D:D:D:D
