Just read that I do need to eat the skins as this is a large amount of the fibre!
Just eat what I put in my smoothies I guess!!
God I hate Celery though!
 
Hey, guuuuuys...
Today's the last day of week 1!! We made it (but don't let that slow you down)! Regardless of what might (but probably won't ;) ) happen, I'm glad I took part in this and actually tried. Unfortunately, this has been a busy week, so I haven't been able to get as much exercise in as I'd have liked. I also ate pizza yesterday, but it had spinach on it, so it wasn't as bad. Even though this challenge is almost over, I still want to try not to eat junk foods, but I just don't want to feel awesomely bad if I do happen to slip up.
Anyway, let's go, guys! Keep it up! :auto:

ok I think that I can handle this challenge better then the last one! :D We actually get a lot of whole grain foods that are full of fiber. Whew! I was afraid before I read the week two challenge! Stay strong everyone! We can do this!
 
Fiber supplements like Benefiber are ok, but they do have sugar in them so I wouldn't go crazy with them. The supplement I have has 45 calories for every 3g of fiber.

If you're having a hard time calculating fiber content, read the label if there is one--it'll tell you. If there's no label--such as fruits and veggies, fitday.com is great for that. It tells you the fiber content in the nutrition list.

For homemade fruit and veggie smoothies, just log the amount of each fruit/veggie juiced into fitday or some similar calculator. That'll tell you the fiber content. I would guess it's pretty high.
 
Blancita-I somehow missed post about you being down 1.5lbs good for you and you should get excited because this challenge is going to burst you through that plateau!!!

Cinderelly-I noticed you put donw '5' for bonus points I think you mean 20 because it was 4pts per day---just want to make sure all my teamies get their points in!!!!

Actually Benefiber has 0 grams of sugar and 16 calories per 3 grams of fiber. I'm so relieved that it counts toward our fiber goal as I have about 12 grams of fiber a day from Benefiber in my tea. Its tasteless and dissolves right into beverages and moist foods.
 
Well I was 30 minutes shy of getting all my exercise points. Ah well, I'll try to do better next week. Tonight the challenge once again helped me avoid a package of Junior Mints or some other treat. I actually looked around the store but each thing I wanted was a snack that would blow my challenge bonus points today, so I got me a hot tea with half and half and left it that! Thank goodness!

Mine's the supermarket brand of Metamucil. I like your's better..lol. But I rarely use supplements to get my fiber in. Today I managed 28g without any--just doing a test drive..lol. :auto:

I am down 4 lbs. That's great but I don't even hope to have the same result next week. I have done a bad thing by lowering my calories yesterday just before the weigh in which is really silly and I promise not to be tempted by speedy weight loss. I missed to post my menu. No junk I think:

wulsk-wowsa 'weigh' to go (pun intended) great job but be sure to get those calories in chicka, we dont want you burning out or gettting sick!
 
hhhmmm this will be hard for me to do...the next challenge - ironically I just started taking some chewable fiber supplemnets 3 times a day - i do however need to take a look how much is in it.

I can do the fiber thing too just by making better choices right - ie - whole grain toast and pastas or whatever?
 
hey guys! Today's the start of a new challenge! Make better choices and just be aware of the fiber in the foods you buy/get/eat and we'll all reach the goals no problem!

i am seriously loving this challenge, as I'm down to 206.5 from 210! The fact that I could be kicked off really booted me off my a** and got me going again! Keep up the great work everyone!
 
It has really re-focused me as well - I did great last week - lots of exercise and prioritizing it and eating well...

When do we find out who gets kicked off ?

IMHO, I find it really helpful for weight loss if you do one really low day a week. I dont believe it slows your metabolism or causes any other problems when just once a week and I found it can really shock the system. I only wish I could do that these days!

beautydiva-we have until midnight on friday to update our stats (oh and there's a time difference, I ithink you are in UK? because its only noon here); you have to go back and update the original post that you made (all of ours are at the top on page one but I think you are on page 3). Nice job on the weightloss! Also, you need to fill in your points for the challenge, 4 points for each day you accomplished the goal or a zero if you had none so that she can tell whether you forgot or didnt earn any points. Keep up teh good work!
 
I've got your pts this week, beautydiva, but please do as mom2 said, and edit your first post each week to update everything. That keeps it simple for me.

Did Pooreater ever check in? I haven't seen anything, and just want to make sure I didn't miss it.

Glad to see this challenge is giving you all lots of motivation. It has for me as well. :)

I'll post results as soon as I get them all in. It will be within 12hrs from now at the latest.
