Weight-Loss The Red Team Thread

Weight-Loss
Either I guess..probably as closest to right before the challenge that we can all get...

Well I think it is very sweet. If everyone wants to do it then that is fine by me. I dont know how much the pics will change in 6 weeks? Also have to consider that we arent all going to make it that long so would you want the pics at the end of all of us who started together to make it complete? Just curious.

I rather enjoy the anonymity of the board so I had posted my before challenge pictures in my diary but they are faceless, would those be ok?

I think that it's a great idea! It'll show how far we'll go! (as the winning team!) :D

I ate well yesterday. I made low sodium terriyaki and had half for lunch and half for dinner. Then lots of water and a lot of walking and chasing animals! :D

Keep up the great work everyone!

and now it's y turn for a motivational quote....

People become really quite remarkable when they start thinking that they can do things. When they believe in themselves they have the first secret of success.

Hey team, I screwed up by eating a beef patty which may be deep fried. Its hard to tell though so I'm not positive that I lost my bonus points. It didn't even occur to me but then I got concerned (after eating it!) so I checked the bonus thread and it says no deep friend foods. Weird but I cant tell if the ground beef is baked in a phylo dough or deep friend (its an Indian beef patty). What do yall think? I guess I should bother BB to find out.

I am so tired today, I've been up since 5am so I'm hoping I can get myself over to the gym for at least a little while. I still have around 2.5 hours left to get all my exercise points. I think I'll try to get in 15 to 30 minutes on the elliptical when the baby goes to sleep at 8pm. I know I'll be bone tired by then though.. Otherwise its 1 hour and 15 minutes tomorrow and Thursday.

The weight was at 140 this morning, so if I can keep up the low calories through Thurs, I hope to be OK on the scale for friday.

The faceless pics are okay by me! I was going to make two videos...one now just to motivate us each day - not really a before and after until the end. I'll make a second video when the contest is over with all of us that were in it from the beginning. I just want pics of everyone in it to put into the first video from where they started - its hard to explain the type of video I wanna make...hmm, kind of think of it like a movie trailor - one that gets you pumped to see the movie!

It won't be that long of a video...just something that we can all log on and watch if we're having a low motivation day, know what I mean?

I'd like to make it before the end of the week...so any pics you guys wanna send is fine..just try to get them to me soon.
;)

QUOTE=wulsk;376527]:eek:

It's not good to eat a friend for sure. :hug2:

Don't worry. It's an accident. You are innocent![/QUOTE]

:smash::smash::smilielol5::smilielol5: LMAO!!!! it took me a minute boy that's funny!!!!

I think my 2 cents is you are ok on the patty because most of the indian places I have been dont fry the patties per se since you were the only one there I think you can use your better judgement :Angel_anim:

ahhh I think I am looking at the scale too much (I dont normally weigh in every day) I do want to continue weighing in every day but today I am just 'down' I think. It is raining here, I am sick, baby is sick, hubby's working and I just want him to be home and give me some rest, then a couple morning I have hopped on scale and it said down as much as 2.5lbs then today I hop on and it says down 0, zip, zilch, nada, nothing. What a bummer.

I know it can vary day to day but I am bummed. I planned to do my 'official' weigh in at the gym with the nice scale but since I couldnt get to the gym last thursday I didnt and dont want to switch now but my scale is flakey and if you weigh yourself 5 times it will say 3-5 different #'s. I spent alot money on it though so I'm not buying a new one!

I also at processed garbage for lunch (not like me) now I feel yucky but I had too many calories I am guessing thanks to a huge glass of juice (100% but still alot calories, drank under the guise of "I need the vitamin C") that I should have just eaten the orange instead and left as well enough alone.

Oh well

bummer here, how is everyone else?

I know how you feel...I hate my scale today..lol. I woke up this morning, weighed myself, got real excited because it said I lost two pounds and for some reason I decided to get back on it five minutes later and it said I weighed the same as yesterday...bastard! lol

Anyways..I've gotten one pic so far, but I don't know who its from, when you guys send it to me, put your screen name on here somewhere in the email so I know who it is...thanks!

And who sent me the pic so far?

Thanks for "weighing-in" on the beef patty ha ha. I'm still not sure, I'll have to consult BB when she's online.

Mom, I have weighed myself every single day for over 20 years. The scale never stays the same weight and often has little to do with my own activities. It has a mind of its own. What's important is that generally you have a downward trend over time. The scale will always fluctuate by 2 to 4 pounds on someone around our size. When you're fluctuating lower, then you've lost or fluctuating higher then you've gained. For example, as much as I'd like to believe I gained "water weight" during the Christmas binging (I ate zillions of German xmas cookies sent from relatives), I'm now fluctuating between 140 and 144, whereas before xmas for months I was fluctuating between 138 and 142. So clearly I've put on about 2 lbs of fat. But do you see how it will always fluctuate up and down regardless of losses? Try to eat low today and tomorrow, and friday I'll bet the scale shows a nice number. Make sure you weigh for the challenge on the same scale each week though.

blancita-thanks, I know you are right. Before Jan1 I was fluctuating between 154 157 so I know I am down also since it was 'that time' but even since challenge I weighed 153.5 starting but that was the lowest I had seen and now I have 'seen' a 151 so I do know I am loosing but its not 'apparent' enough for my inpatience. Thanks though, what you said makes sense, I appreciate it.

Missblonde-that exact same thing happened to me yesterday!

Here's my philosophy on weight. Until I hit this plateau months ago, since I was steadily losing about .8 lbs per week for a whole year, I always considered my NEW LOW as my actual weight. Yes, my new low ALWAYS went back up after I would catch a glimpse of it, but within a week I'd see that new low again and soon enough I'd hit another low. So really, as long as you dont go up from your new low by more than 3 pounds, or you dont see your new low for months (like me, I haven't seen my 137.5 for about 6 months now) you''ve still lost weight and should be happy happy happy!

Thanks Blancita, that is a good way of looking at it. Back in sep/oct I 'saw' 146--once but I think my scale was nutso, then my milk supply dropped low so I stopped trying to loose weight and somehow with holidays and a couple bouts of flu it got back up there! I will look at my new low as my number (of course I have to use whatever # I get on fridays for the challenge). Can't wait to start seeing numbers in the 140's!

Healthy Treat: So if you are like me I have been feeling 'deprived' of my sweets, I normally eat extremely healhty 90% of the time it is my sweets that get me in trouble. Sooo I came up with a healthy snack today that was DELICIOUS

Normally in fall I bake apples and serve iwth ice cream so this is a take off of that. I took granny smith apple, sliced it, sprayed it with cooking spray (olive oil), sprinkled it with cinnamon, lemon peel, and pumpkin pie spices and microwaved for 60seconds. I then mixed up some yogurt with a splash of vanilla extract and about 1/2 tsp of honey (since I use plain whole milk yogurt it needs a bit of flavor). Mix the two together and I added 1 chopped walnut, its delicious! It was truly great, healthy, nice bit of protein and some healhty carbs.

Tuesday (home sick with sick kid)
cheerios 1/2 banana milk 5 almonds
can mexican chicken soup, orange, juice, cheese
apple 2 almonds
chicken stir fry no rice
apple with yogurt 1/2tsp honey
*no excercise no pedometer

Oooooh mom, that's a yummy variation on what I was making literally every day for about 2 weeks. So good right? I was using a tiny bit of butter melted over the apple and then ground almond. I would just roll my eyes at how delicious it was! I'll try your recipe soon.

I also made a delicious little treat tonight. Actually it, along with a 275 calorie organic burrito, was my dinner. I bought this large bag of frozen mixed fruit from Costco. I've usually not liked frozen fruits as it gets quite nasty and mushy. This looked really good and I got it in the spirit of trying to be healthy, but honestly I was wondering what the heck I was going to do with it! LOL Anyway, I threw a cup full (70 calories) into the blender with 1/2 cup whole milk. It turned out so thick, you have to eat it with a spoon like ice cream. Yummy!

Exercise Update:
I hopped on the elliptical for 15 min tonight, but that's all I could do after only 5 hours sleep last night :cuss:.

Damn girl - Im gonna need to try that:)Thanx...Good for you for using the elliptical...15 mins is better than nothing...I havent gotten anyt exercis in the last two days...I worked a dbl shift on Sunday so I figured that was good enough...I just did 30 mins of yoga and I am off to the gym tonight after the biggest loser

ooh that sounds so good to, will have to try that.

Good for you working in the excercise where you can.

Since my daughter just turned one and is not the best sleeper and is still nursing I DREAM of getting 5 hours LOL!

If possible, perhaps you might consider updating your charts regularly so we can all be motivated by your exercise and bonus points!

Its up to you..but I find it helpful :D.

:seeya:

Omg, I've gone all week not giving in to constant temptation, but tomorrow, I dunno...I'm going to be meeting some people, and we'll probably get food...hopefully we go someplace with healthier alternatives that won't cost me mah points! We'll see...
Hope everyone's feeling well/better...
