Weight-Loss The Red Team Thread

Weight-Loss
I had this horrible dream that I ate all this crap and couldn't get any bonus points!! Dx But then I woke up and realized it was just a dream...hahaha.

A little motivation for Day TWO!

:p A classic...one of my favorites - MOTIVATION FOR DAY 2

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit-
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a fellow turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
Whe he might have captured the victor's cup;
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint in the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It might be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -

It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

Believe in the power of POSITIVE THINKING! We can do it RED TEAM! :grouphug:

thanks for the inspiration! I love quotes and collect them, I will be saving the original one you posted, thanks.

I dont know if it will help anyone else but I always love this one "For that which does not kill us makes us stronger" (which was appropriate this morning in the middle of BOSU with the 'crazy psycho' excercise instructor LOL).

Let's go RED team!

I believe we can all post away now because if they did not post by midnight friday they were eliminated (I believe that was he rule). Crap, that sucks that we lost them already!

So It is 7am and I am up (on a saturday) and hitting gym for a BOSU class that will kick my butt! So far so good. How is everyone doing???

They have until midnight this coming Friday to post their stats. But it's not fair to your team not to be able to post to each other at this point so post away. If they do end up joining, their pts will probably be low due to not knowing about the bonus, so unless the Red Team comes in first, they'll most likely be eliminated, and I won't have to search for their stats..lol. I did send them both a PM to remind them they need to do all this.

hey everyone! Well, already this challenge is doing good things for me! I took out ice cream, and then thought about the challenge and PUT IT BACK! woot! I'm so glad that this challenge will really get me going... I am NOT going to be thrown off the team! :D Keep up the good work everyone!

I did my exercise, 1/2 of walking, plus shoveling/cleaning out a lot of stalls and doing hard manual labor. That's always good for both building muscle and burning cals! Tomorrow same thing plus a riding lesson! Yes! I'm super excited! Keep up the great work everyone! We can do this!

oh, and for a motivational quote...

"Go until you think you can't go any further....Then take one more step..."

Motivation for DAY THREE!

You already have what it takes to persist. For persistence is nothing more than continuing to do what you've been doing.

Persistence makes the difference between no achievement and great achievement. And persistence is available to all who choose it.

The enemy of persistence is that little voice you hear in your head that urges you to give up. When you hear that voice, remember that you don't have to do what it says, and you don't have to fight it either.

Just listen to that voice, allow it to have its say, and then calmly let it go. Keep on going and you'll quickly be beyond it.

Remember often, with great detail and passion, why you've chosen to do what you're doing. Keep your focus on the goal, and know that by continuing to progress on your journey, one step at a time, you'll get there.

Persistence isn't complicated, and it doesn't require you to uncover some deep, dark, closely guarded secret. You have what it takes if you'll simply choose to do what it takes and persist until the job is done.

Hey team! Well I agree with xorie, this challenge is really helping me avoid junk. Its easier after the start of the new year and a few weeks of Christmas eating, but still, I wouldv'e allowed myself a bite here or a small chocolate bar there and when the group I went shopping with yesterday wanted to stop for fast food, I had H drop me off at my mother in law's first so I wouldnt screw up (more cuz I was missing my baby though!).

Well its a shame we may not come in first because of nonexistent players. Oh well, then we will be a lean mean weight loss and bonus achieving team!

No treats no treats no treats :D. Good team! Yah!

:)Im gld you guys are doing well - I failed yesturday and today but will be good these next 5 days...Ive been doing well with exercise however - so hopefully I wont get the boot:(

This bonus challenge is really hard I agree. Its OK Relly, there's always the rest of the week to get the remaining bonus points! Who knows, other teams may also have no shows and of course a few people will pick at a treat and not get all of their bonus points so who knows..

*Please do not feel bad.* :hug2:

Today is my son Cory's 14th B-Day Celebration.

He doesn't like cake so I've made a chocolate cream pie {his fav} and for his b-day dinner he picked my homemade nachos. :drool5:

I make everything homemade. The Queso/Sauce - Guacamoli -
I also make seasoned beef and chop tons of veggie toppings.
{toms/lett/onions/etc.}
Of course this is all piled on homemade tortilla chips I make!

Good Grief...

We are also going to have a house full of company in a bit.

My back is killing me {see my latest diary entry} so I don't know if I'll be able to exercise today unless it eases up.

I may not be be around the food later bc I could be at the doctor.
Who Knows?

You guys should feel safe though!

With the 2 no shows and with my current crap to deal with, I'll probably be one of the first 3 to go.

:waving:

Hickgurltx-dont think that way! We are going to work extra hard to make sure we are not the 'loosing' team this week so you wont have to get booted! We're only two days in so dont fret. I do hope your back can feel better, that is such a bummer.

Is there anywhere around you with a pool? I had lots back issues when pregnant and walking in pool and doing excercises in there helped me get the excercise and loosened up my back since there wants any stress on my body.

ok ladies I have been 'spying' on the other teams he he he, the blue team is having some great discussions and utilizing amazing discipline (someone went to the cheesecake factory and didn have dessert! that place is my fav and I dont think I can walk out having only had one dessert!!!).

I am trying to think up a team chant but I am nto that creative LOL I'm working on it though.

So I have been weighing myself daily since new year and tracking it on a little graph I printed out and hung in bathroom and my scale said 151.5 today which is down 2lbs now I never believe it until I see it at least 2 days in a row so we shall see but I am psyched I soo want to get into the 140's its been a long time since I have seen those ###'s.

Also have a nasty cold today thanks to little one, I dont feel well at all, thinking about going gym and doing the bike for a while to try and 'burn it out' but dont know if I feel up to it.

I had a bit of a moment Saturday night too.
Ended up drinking alcohol.
But I've kept exercising and its only the one day of no bonus points.
And no more breaking the rules! I promise!!
Lets do this!!

AIM ABOVE THE MARK TO HIT THE MARK

OK, teammates. I am absolutely on track with everything. I am not tempted by the junk so no problems with that. However the sport is a real burden for me. As I was "brisking" today the wind was blowing in my face, and constantly taking headphones of my ipod out of my ears and people were all the time on my way so I had to drop my speed on several occassions. Very annoying. :banghead:

The no junk menu today

Breakfast
porridge with non fat milk
toast
coffee

Snack
nuts
grapes

Lunch
cottage cheese
mozzarella
tomato
cucumber
lettuce
carrot
ham
yogurt
tea+milk

Snack
apple

Dinner
gammon steak (grilled)
boiled potato
spring onion
lettuce
tomato
olives
yogurt
tea+milk

Please be strong in this difficult challenge! It's winter and it is not very easy to stay motivated when it is cold outside.

wow we are doing well, and don't think that we are! Its all about positive attitude here! Keep up the good work everyone!

I just finished my "working" (cleaning a ton of stalls) I worked up a major sweat, so that's good. I'm off to the barn soon to do some more work, and then if it doesn't rain *crosses fingers* I'll get to ride today. :D i'm hoping, but I live in western washington, so I don't think its gonna happen... :D Will also do some core and toning stuff when I get home, and maybe take the dog for a walk if it's not raining...

Okay, I just had to tell you guys...

I've worked out for the past 8 days straight...like boot camp..I've been a mad woman! And this morning, I had myself convinced that I would take a break today and not exercise.

But! After reading all of your posts, I just had to! My boyfriend tried convincing me to take a break - but I just couldn't let my team down!! 45 minutes of Cardio later - I'm ready for bed! :drooling:

So, I just wanted to say thanks for the extra kick in the ass today!

GO RED TEAM GO!!
