Knowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom. Mastering others is strength; mastering yourself is true power.

Chillen, you manage to pull something out for just about everyone. I'm hanging on to the above two for the weekend--and may just print them off to post next to my desk. Thanks-- and rock on dude.

June 22nd's, Thoughts for the day, forth coming after Chest and Back WO.............(just got off work a bit ago)

But, first I leave you with:

As I see it… Don’t just reach for the stars. Grab a hold of one, grasp it tightly, and pull it into your heart and soul, become its master--Chillen

We all have the inner star and each step you take toward your goal makes it shine bright! Keep the chin up! ROCK ON!

Hope everyones day went extremely well. Hope you took a positive step toward your personal goals. Wish all of you the best.

Thought for the day..........coming soon...with special emphasis on two most valuable inner traits.................

thanks dr chill! today was very pleasing for me. eating many fruits and veggies makes me feel accomplished and better overall. hope your day was spectacular too.

il be waiting for the thought of the day :D

ahh i remembered. i have to ask you a question: do you think the sugar from milk is good or bad sugar? i have always drank a lot of milk. and are the carbs from fruits considered good carbs? how is the sugar any different besides the fiber?

:)

ahh i remembered. i have to ask you a question: do you think the sugar from milk is good or bad sugar? i have always drank a lot of milk. and are the carbs from fruits considered good carbs? how is the sugar any different besides the fiber?

:)

Your 16, and even if you weren't, eating good natural fruit is a good thing to consume. It has natural sugar that has a different molecular composite, and tends to give a more immediate energy (it does raise blood sugar a small bit, but during the day this is okay). The carbs in fruit are simple carbs.

Eat them well balanced (in the am starting the day, and in late morning or afternoon) and couple this with more complex carbs (like Oatmeal, Whole Wheat Cream of Wheat-natural) throughout the day.

I believe the sugar in milk is called lactose and I think its naturally in it. If your lactose tolerant, drinking milk (low in fat I hope) is just fine--you need the calcium in it anyway for being 16 and growing overall. Dont be overly concerned with the lactose in milk, its refined sugar that is the bad one (though moderately consumed will still have you breathing, LOL)

I got delayed before starting my WO, but I just finished up. Im working on the thought for the day post now....Im glad your day went well.

awesome. well im glad to hear that fruits are great kuz iv been eating tons of blueberries, strawberries, cantalope, grapes and apples....oh and peaches. yes and i try to keep them in the AM and after lunch a bit too.

i drink 1% milk. that ok? my family hates fat free and i would be the only one who drinks it....it tastes the same 2 me.
thanks for the help!
hey dr chill. is there ever going to be a day when there is no thought of the day? just curious : )

I plan to this every single day, unless the persons on the forum advise me otherwise. If I can touch one person reading the forum that is having a bad day (even one reading as guests, and registered members not posting), and they stand up keep their diet, stay strong, stay the course and train, then I couldnt be more happier. THIS is what its about.

Its mastering the mental games with oneself, that is the essential element to ones success, really. And, for this, is the reason I created this thread. For example, everytime a craving occurs and you mentally KNOW your at your caloric limitation, you have just entered a mental battle with yourself---this very thing can make or break someone, IF not properly handled by the head. I have touched some already, and this motivates me to help more. I am not on a self serving quest, though, I do benefit from it.

Seeing you PB, growing and maturing in your goals as a young man, serves yourself, and assists yourself in being a fine young man in society, and if I can assist you (and others can assist you on the forum), there is no greater service better given. I have been married 24 years (and married once in my life), I have two kids (18, and 21) both males. I instill in them the same desire od educating themselves and thus others whom will listen, and more imporantly listen--back to get re-educated.
Todays post forthcoming......

thats deep.
somewhere deep inside your personality, chillen there is something that insists that you go out of your way to help another person whom you very well may never even see face to face, ever know or meet in person; let alone you may not see what good your advice has done.
that thing within makes you want to help others without recieving anything in return.
this trait is very rare to come by in life. it is very dear and precious.
this feature is pure altruism, extreme humanity and great benevolence in my eyes

keep it going man. this is truly what it is all about.this is life. and the best way to live it is to help eachother through it.

June 22, 2007, Chillen's Thought for the day (Late)

A different twist today (he, he, wait til 2morrow, I have something up my sleeve, LOL)

What size of fight do you have? What do you mean you don’t feel like it today?! Or Tomorrow?! Get UP! STAND UP!----FIGHT! You only get knocked out of the fight if you mentally quit:

What matters is not necessarily the size of the dog in the fight - it's the size of the fight in the dog." (by someone else)

====================================================
Educate yourself when your down and don’t feel like doing it! READ THIS TWICE!!
Perhaps the most valuable result of all education is the ability to make yourself do the thing you have to do, when it ought to be done, whether you like it or not; it is the first lesson that ought to be learned; and however early a man's training begins, it is probably the last lesson that he learns thoroughly.
Thomas H. Huxley (1825 - 1895)

Each time you train is setting one stone on the other on the foundation to your goal: (chillen):

A few statements from Henry David Thoreau:

Henry David Thoreau:
If you have built castles in the air, your work need not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them.
=======================================================

You have to change your mind---to be IN YOUR MIND on what YOU want to be:

As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives.
Henry David Thoreau

We are told that talent creates its own opportunities. But it sometimes seems that intense desire creates not only its own opportunities, but its own talents.

The MUST master the mental competitions in your head!

You have powers you never dreamed of.
You can do things you never thought you could do.
There are no limitations in what you can do except the limitations of your own mind.
=======================================================
What is this passage saying to you? We MUST learn to deal with our weaknesses and circumference of our surroundings concerning our training to become more powerful to overcome mental adversities:

What we actually learn, from any given set of circumstances, determines whether we become increasingly powerless or more powerful.
Blaine Lee

I end with this:

Laurence J. Peter
Real, constructive mental power lies in the creative thought that shapes your destiny, and your hour-by-hour mental counduct produces power for change in your life. Develop a train of thought on which to ride. The nobility of your life as well as your happiness depends upon the direction in which that train of thought is going.
======================================================

A little different approach today. Live and learn every day. LEARN to master yourself it is the real success story of your journey------ NOW ROCK ON!

Get,,,,,er……done! No problem can stand the assault of sustained thinking. DO IT! Wish all of you the BEST!

Good here-- grabbed a quick bite to eat and coffee, then the wife and I did boot camp while the kids watched. Took the kids to swim lessons, then I took the boy to Costco and wife took the girl to gymnastics.

Then house chores and take the boy to a birthday party.

Glad to hear the lat is healing nicely PB--

You want to be a trainer? Uh, you have to take this

The following short quiz consists of 4 questions and will tell you whether you are qualified to be a professional Trainer. Scroll down for each answer. The questions are NOT difficult. But don't scroll down UNTIL you have answered the question!

1. How do you put a giraffe into a refrigerator?

The correct answer is: Open the refrigerator, put in the giraffe, and close the door. This question tests whether you tend to do simple things in an overly complicated way.

2. How do you put an elephant into a refrigerator?

Did you say, Open the refrigerator, put in the elephant, and close the refrigerator?

Wrong Answer.

Correct Answer: Open the refrigerator, take out the giraffe, put in the elephant and close the door. This tests your ability to think through the repercussions of your previous actions.

3. The Lion King is hosting an animal conference. All the animals attend... except one. Which animal does not attend?

Correct Answer: The Elephant. The elephant is in the refrigerator. You just put him in there. This tests your memory. Okay, even if you did not answer the first three questions correctly, you still have one more chance to show your true abilities.

4. There is a river you must cross but it is used by crocodiles, and you do not have a boat. How do you manage it?

Correct Answer: You jump into the river and swim across. Have you not been paying attention? All the crocodiles are attending the Animal Meeting. This tests whether you learn quickly from your mistakes.

Chillens, "unnecessary" Information

If you yelled for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days you would have produced enough sound energy to heat one cup of coffee.
(Hardly seems worth it.)

If you farted consistently for 6 years and 9 months, enough gas is produced to create the energy of an atomic bomb.
(Now that's more like it!)

The human heart creates enough pressure when it pumps out to the body to squirt blood 30 feet.
(O.M.G.!)

A pig's orgasm lasts 30 minutes.
(In my next life, I want to be a pig.)

A cockroach will live nine days without its head before it starves to death.
(Creepy.)

(I'm still not over the pig.)

Banging your head against a wall uses 150 calories an hour.
(Do not try this at home...... maybe at work.)

The male praying mantis cannot copulate while its head is attached to its body. The female initiates sex by ripping the male's head off.
("Honey, I'm home. What the....?!")

The flea can jump 350 times its body length. It's like a human jumping the length of a football field.

(30 minutes... lucky pig... can you imagine??)

The catfish has over 27,000 taste buds.
(What could be so tasty on the bottom of a pond?)

Some lions mate over 50 times a day.
(I still want to be a pig in my next life...quality over quantity)

Butterflies taste with their feet.
(Something I always wanted to know.)

The strongest muscle in the body is the tongue.
(Hmmmmmm........)

Right-handed people live, on average, nine years longer than left-handed people.
(If you're ambidextrous, do you split the difference?)

Elephants are the only animals that cannot jump.
(OK, so that would be a good thing....)

A cat's urine glows under a black light.
(I wonder who was paid to figure that out?)

An ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain.
(I know some people like that.)

Starfish have no brains.
(I know some people like that too.)

Polar bears are left-handed.
(If they switch, they'll live a lot longer.)

Humans and dolphins are the only species that have sex for pleasure.
(What about that pig??)

DrSuess. I hope your day continued to be great! Remember your goal, dude, the sacrifices are worth absorbing, and you MUST (caps again, please I need to see a doc ABOUT THIS) BE THE SHOCK ABSORBER!

Got a new 24" wide screen LCD today (2ms response time), I can't see a dang thing!

Now, I can (when not training or working), Play 2142 Battlefield, and the beta Quake Wars (which needs alot of work, Im not impressed, though I understand its in beta form), on a bit bigger monitor. The other crapped out on me.
