lol FF. resist the hersheys!

great post, dr chill.
the part about how trash piles up: "We pick up a little here and pick up a little more over there and before we know it, we have quite a mess on our hands."

that reminds me of school and how homework piles up really quick if i dont do it right away -.-
projects too. those suck so much. makes everything more stressful.

but getting it done right away (before it bothers me) is the best way to take out that trash.

it all makes sense.

thanks man... I made it..

my friend brought me a tin of chocolate covered altoids, and I've hasd a couple, but not many-- kinda yucky today for some reason.

Also the lady from "Miracles" a few doors down asked me if the last cake was ok, because I haven;t been back.... I was getting one or two per day since I opened this new office 2 weeks ago.

lol

anyway, just dropping in to release whats been going on today.
i had a good day. hung at a friends house. ate well. tried some monovi', a fruit drink featuring the acai berry from the amazon. awesome stuff. #1 super food.

anyway, i got home and since my lat was hurtin a bit i started to get discouraged. but i dug inside and i remembered this thread and that a strong determined mind is my greatest(and only) solace. i shook it off. i remembered a quote from here. something like "obstacles are those things that arise when we take our eye off our goals." something like that.

gotta stay strong. thanks dr chill

Hey Proteinboy

Sorry if you've already told us but what's the problem with your lat? I seems like it's been hurting for a bloody long time! Are you getting physio?

PB what are you doing about your lat, I agree its been far to long, seeing a DOC?

I worked 14 hours yesterday, and on the verge of working 12 today. I didnt post the end of the day yesterday ( ), I trained instead after 14 work hours.

But today, I have a "Suprise" in store for everyone, after work. I think you will like.

Off to work, everyone have a great day, and knock down those barriers. Dont go around, run over them.

My wish today is for everyone to make it through and accomplish what ever the goal is, and spread goodwill, even if faced with adversity. I know its easier said than done, but we all know YOU can do it. Our road to fat loss and/or muscle growth naturally isnt a easy one, but its worth it, and most importantly---YOU OWE IT TO YOURSELF!

And the "suprise" is coming..........................

haha
but the problem with it is hard to describe. it got "ripped" a month and 3 days ago when i was deadlifting with improper form going for new PR's.

but it HAS been healing a ton. my lat(the side part of it under my armpit) is actually pretty much healed. i used to not be able to do a side bend to my right without it aching bad. it doesnt hurt now although the negative of a military press strains it. somewhere along the line, the pain moved to my left upper back(dont know what to call it). its not the traps. i havent been doing chinups in a while. or heavy deads. hell, i havent done anything heavy but legwork since i hurt it.

i dont know if its even in my head that i cant be at 100%. im scared to workout hard because every time i do anything heavy, i focus directly on if i recieve any pain in the left lat/back.

and i dont think a doctor will help me anyway. iv been through the whole physical therapy thing and how doctors handle injuries. i can take this on my own.

Cool, so long as you're on top of it. The biggest danger with an injury like that is your body over compensating for the injury by using the other side more, or maybe in your case the other muscles surrounding your lat are doing more work to compensate for the weakness caused by the injury.

But by taking it slow you're doing the right thing, I wish I'd done that when I tore my hamstring at 18!

yea. its nothing big now. just keeping me out of the gym. tryin to take it slow

what happened to your hamstring when you were 18?

I was a super fast skinny kid at the time and I went for football (soccer) trials for my uni team, we had 3 days of playing matches and on the third day I was playing in game, went off for about 30 minutes and then came back on again (worst organisation you could imagine).
As a sprinter who wanted to impress I thought I'd try a trick of mine, I picked the ball up from the edge of my box, walked towards their players really slowly and as soon as a small gap appeared I went from 1-100 in a second. If I was still warm I'd have left them miles behind but there was this sound like a shotgun which was hamstring tearing, everyone heard it.

I've had physio and stuff but 8 years later I still can't reach full speed without hurting it. It was made worse because I kept trying to come back too soon

It probably didn't heal because I didn't allow it to, I kept using it and trying to run before I was ready. If I'd have done what I was supposed to it probably wouldn't have happened.
Deadlifts seem to be making it stronger now though so that's something to be possitive about

Okay, I worked it out where one of my other employees is working for me, since I worked so much yesterday. I was exhausted when I got home, but, I stuck to my personal WO schedule, and it went well.

Now, the "suprise" is forthcoming, soon......................

OK OK OK I'll give in,..,... What;s the surprise I can't wait.

You are really the sixpackaroo chick and have been impostering?

its not nice to build suspense so much dr chill!

glad you W/O went well. i just did mine too! felt awesome!!! exercise makse me feel so good!

now can you tell us the suprise before i explode?!
and dont make us play hangman or something to figure out your suprise LOL

June 21, 2007: Thoughts for the day

The surprise, is all of you! Why are you so surprised that it wasn’t something else?

Why are you surprised in your achievements along your journey to your goal?

Look at you! Be not surprised by your equated achievements?

Don’t fright nor fight as YOU ARE Nature’s Light.

We can learn so much by Nature when applied mentally the correct way.

Chillen

Each of you are Nature's Light!

Nature's Light

Softly the evening came. The sun from the western horizon like a magician extended his golden want o'er the landscape; trinkling vapors arose; and sky and water and forest seemed all on fire at the touch, and melted and mingled together.
- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature´s peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves. - John Muir

The universe is one great kindergarten for man. Everything that exists has brought with it its own peculiar lesson. The mountain teaches stability and grandeur; the ocean immensity and change. Forests, lakes, and rivers, clouds and winds, stars and flowers, stupendous glaciers and crystal snowflakes - every form of animate or inanimate existence, leaves its impress upon the soul of man. - Orison Swett Marden

I saw in the northwest first rise, in the rose-tinted horizon sky, a dark, narrow, craggy cloud, narrow and projecting as no cloud on earth, seen against the rose-tinted sky - the crest of a thunderstorm, beautiful and grand. - Henry David Thoreau

And after ten years spent in the heart of it, bathing in its glorious floods of light, seeing the sunbursts of morning among the icy peaks, the flush of alpenglow, and a thousand dashing waterfalls with their marvelous abundance of irised spray, it still seems to me above all others the Range of Light. - John Muir

Next time a sunrise steals your breath or a meadow of flowers leaves you speechless, remain that way. Say nothing, and listen as heaven whispers, "Do you like it? I did it just for you." - Max Lucado

The sun illuminates only the eye of the man, but shines into the heart of the child. In the presence of nature, a wild delight runs through the man, in spite of real sorrows.
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

At first a small line of inconceivable splendor emerged on the horizon, which quickly expanding, the sun appeared in all of his glory, unveiling the whole face of nature, vivifying every colour of the landscape, and sprinkling the dewy earth with glittering light. - Ann Radcliffe

A leaf, a sun-beam, a landscape, the ocean, make an analogous impression on the mind. What is common to them all, --that perfectness and harmony, is beauty. The standard of beauty is the entire circuit of natural forms,-- the totality of nature... - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Especially for you FF

I fell upon this a bit ago:

Sweet Little Things Called “Friends” By Linda Rae of Maricopa, Arizona

That powerful cookie is calling my name

as I shop for my food in the Store.

It’s really quite easy to forget why I came

when I see all that ice-cream and more.

Keeping on track with my food plan on my own

is a difficult enough task to follow.

I don’t need advice or ideas for my diet.

Just try to be nice and don’t ask me to “try it”.

It’s so hard to escape those things called “temptations”.

They don’t want to leave me alone.

They come in all sizes and forms and disguises

despite my desires I’ve made known.

My friends are not helping or doing me favors

when they say, “just one taste won’t be wrong”.

They don’t understand about an addict’s behavior

and my needs to be healthy and strong.

They think it’s a diet or fad that will end

and I’ll eat like I did in my past.

I’m constantly telling them over again,

“This time I want it to last”.

I’ve decided my health and well being

is worth any “offending” I’ve done.

If “my” needs are not worth their pleasing—

then I am the offended one.

If dining at the restaurant of their choosing

is the only option for me

Then friendships I’ll have to risk losing,

so, I can remain sugar free!

Read between the lines, my friend.

excellent.
i love nature and everything about it except with how we are destroying it.

one of my dreams is to go around the world and see nature's beauty in other parts of the world. being alone with nature really brings an incredible feeling.
thanks for the thoughts man.
