Wow Chillen!

I really wasn't expecting that. I have just been looking through your ChillOut Log and i read your post about my "Weekend Problem" again, and the ones u just wrote. Thanks man, your Great! I hope u know that. And yeah i have smiled today, ive been laughing a lot with friends at work all day at random stuff lol. I dont really know why, just one of those days i suppose. Ive got the next 5 days off work wooooo, so im happy about that. Im going to plan for the weekend tomorrow.

So what about you?? How are you? what u been up 2? Have you and your family been on any more jogs lately? Im thinking of going out jogging tomorrow, im defiantly going for a bike ride.

Ive ordered some PC parts to come tomorrow, and im gonna build my own PC - woohoo cant wait!!!!!!!!! I should be able to play some decent games on it!

I want you know that I wrote this from my heart for you my friend. I hope you can make sense of it, and I want to talk to you about it.

A friend lends a hand and extends it, and holds the right hand of the other friend firm acknowledging friendship, but sometimes the friend holding the right hand has to extend the left hand and slap the friends left hand at the same time: Thus a TRUE FRIEND.


You can be the independent FUNCTION and subordinating CONJUNCTION in the environmental DYSFUNCTION and your training and dieting goals will not MALFUNCTION.

YOU are at fault……bottom line.


YOU made the DECISION and CHOICE to drink; you allowed the surrounding environment to point a gun to your head to make you "think" you had no decision and no choice, and the gun went off.


Don’t be misinformed, even adults have this problem. Therefore don’t even think that this type of problem is just restricted to your age and present atmosphere; it will be one you will fight most of your life and into adulthood.

Though the stimulants within the circumference of the atmosphere may be different as we mature and age ; whether you are holding the gun in hand on the lap or by the head, or throw it away, is based on your CHOICES and DECISIONS you make (in the "context" we are speaking).

There are some variables in life we have no control over, but the wisdom is knowing the difference between them.

Your perceptive view, attitude, and subsequent reaction, to the recognized things you can change and things you cannot change, can make an impeccable distinction between your internal emotions and the circumstance(s) and subsequent feedback and/or consequences; internally being able to separate attitude, perception, potential reaction, WITH acknowledging just how powerful ones emotions can define and manipulate each of the aforementioned.


Recognize EMOTIONS:

Recognize that emotions can and will try to be functional in decisions and reactions: Some emotions are impulse related, stimulated by circumstances and/or atmosphere, some emotions are more personal related to opinions, feelings, beliefs, personality, and other associated human functions.

BUT: Emotions can LIE and tell you the TRUTH.

Example:

You know you "shouldn't do something" (your brain is being logical, this logic is based on a "premise", say your weight loss goal), but strong emotions kick in in favor of the event or become twisted, as does some memory, and atmosphere stimulants, that tend to favor the unwanted action that your logic has factored against): your emotions just lied against your logic inference, and you WILL pay a PRICE in the result.

Subsequently when you get finished with the event your logic was against, this happens:

The logic fundamentally stays the same going from "I should not do this" to "I shouldn't have done that", but the emotions do a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde: Going from: " euphoria " "desire" "anticipation" (strongest feelings), "slight depression" (guilt potential) (weakest), to: " Lined Depression" ," Anger", "Some Heavy Guilt", "Despair",----as the emotions now have become on par or in line with the logic against the action--after the fact, and this without adding in any "Biological Factors" that may or may not exist (feeling of dehydration, headache, loss of energy, etc.)

Thus emotions can carry over a "disease" effect on some other factors such as attitude, demeanor, and "overall internal feeling" , and can effect other decisions, that same day or subsequent days following the "bad" decision. How much and how long depends on "subject matter on decision" ----and the internal "VALUE" it opposed.

Your View Box:

In my opinion, everyone has a separate "View Box" from which all emotional stimulants, biological factors, brain perception, and personality traits and functions, feed into. These aforementioned stimulants, perceptions, factors, traits, and functions, feed into YOURSELF, and thus determine your decision.

If you can separate your "view box" (yourself), from the various stimulants, perceptions, factors, traits, and functions, (lets call these: "Persona"), and feed these independent but sometimes "washing machine mechanisms" of the persona into your "view box", and then let your "view box" equate this to the "value" you have placed on a "subject matter", you WILL win more than you will lose (and most of the time when you in fact view things like this, when you in fact lose, it is "usually" a situation you had no control over, or was limited in some fashion).


You are going to have to take this "view Box" and "POLICE" your "Persona" correctly in conjunction with your "want-o-meter" level of your personal goals, young man, and control the "meter" correctly. And, it is this VERY THING, that fails many persons and its just not you in college: we all have variable environmental factors that influence us………….STOP CRYING because its college and this is what you do……..HOG WASH!

I been where you are at (in a school dorm--I know). Put your "view box in control", and when other factors inside you wreak havoc, pull from strength, desire, passion, WILL POWER, or any other stimulus you can view, and raise the fricken' "want-o-meter" to the level necessary to maintain your path:

And, THEN when this is done ENOUGH, you can take your "view box" and allow a lowering of this same meter and not hurt your goal path. UNDERSTAND?!

Do these "PERSONA'S" control you or do YOU control them? THIS IS THE QUESTION.

AIM SINK THIS IN YOUR HEART:

Anything (or most things) that are NOT worth achieving--are easy to obtain. Think about it. Most persons all they have to do to gain weight (or get fatter) is EAT (how hard is that? For most persons).

Most things that are worthwhile to obtain are the HARDEST but one in which can bring the most satisfaction (i.e. deficit dieting, training and adapting to responses given by the body).

Each day that you achieve and win your mental battles you win, and brings you one step closer. Each day that this occurs, has an accumulation effect that will creep up on you, and before you know it, your there. And no feeling in the world will overcome the daily feeling you get once your there.........Rock on today.

My day went pretty well. I didn't have one of those: What the....? (f@ck) days. Like I had last week:

I woke up stubbed my toe, and while its still throbbing, my car tire was flat, then like an idiot, I left the dome light on, and the battery was dead. Then I was pissed because I had to go get gas in it, and pissed because it cost over $3.

I got to work, all but one PC was blue screening, I couldn't see straight so I turned a corner to fast and buckled my index finger, now I was really upset as this was going to effect my lifts..........What the.........?


I still kept my diet and trained.

Heya Chillen, i just read your last post. I understand most of it. I think you are trying to get the point of: GET IN CONTROL OF YOURSELF, WHEN THERE ARE CHOICES ALWAYS TAKE THE ONES WHICH WILL GET YOU NEARER TO THE GOAL!

PLAN WELL FOR KNOWN FAMILIAR SITUATIONS(like going to the pub, club, going to town, hanging out with mates)

be smarter than emotions.

Real quick answer:

Chillen in extraordinary time management skills with emphasis on "containing" my personal Rock-On-idis.

With getting about 6,000 posts in less than 10 months and the depth of "some" posts, I can see why one would ask that. No one on this forum as done that in that amount of time. I say this sort thing very rarely, so take it the right way.

Its no different then getting up and putting your cloths on everyday. We were taught how to do that once ya' know. Same for riding a bike, going to the bathroom, and feeding ourselves.

When I began my fitness quest, I took this piece of mentality and some others, and taught myself how to bring important elements of fitness and diet and blend them in as habits.

Some may not realize that I have met ALL of my personal goals prior to joining the forum. This includes the trials and tribulations of trying to figure out my own personal puzzle in the process.

Its like instructing and teaching your child, and implementing discipline when necessary. The difference is self-discipline and swatting yourself, when necessary, for your best interest.

Small tid-bits of time, like going to the bathroom, and eating (etc), we all find time in doing. It follows then, we can find small tid-bits of time to allow for diet construction (nutrient logging if necessary), without it inhibiting normal activities especially when formed as a habit. Once a habit (and knowledge to back it up), it becomes second nature, and is completed without much thinking.

Therefore, my training is surrounded by my lifestyle, and is implemented and performed the same way as I would put my cloths on for the day.

Sometimes we have to adjust our personal schedules to accomodate a change in work schedules, and it follows we do the same in our fitness schedule, and its really this simple.

I ALWAYS have TIME for all things-because I have my personal mind right.

My job responsibilities in network management allows for alot of down time, and likewise there has been a few times, I havent posted for more than a week because I had to go on employment related trips. And, finally I have been married 25 years, and we are extremely content within our skins and with one another.

Lasty, I enjoy helping people. And there is NO OTHER MOTIVE other than this. People have there opinions. And, this is exactly what they are. Only I know what the TRUTH is. And the TRUTH is I desire to make people feel good about themeselves.

Very true Chillen. It is one of my pet peeves when people tell me they don't have the time to do things that should be a priority.

MAKE TIME DAMMIT!!! Thats what I say. With 50 plus hours of a work per week, 3 childern 6 and under, a marriage, maintaining a house, and fitness. I still make time to play with my kids, go fishing, hang out with friends and extended family. To me saying you dno't have the time is a weak excuse.

I had a rather interesting thought today. I was examining TIME. So I decided to post one angle of thought on this.

just finished reading up to page 51 of your log... all really good info... bit tiring though and a strain on the eyes, with it being 00:10 London time now...


anyway, you said somewhere, dont ask me to quote, that your colleagues said you look really skinny in clothes, and you agree bout that... so its kinda weird my asking, but since im über skinny and trying to get bigger, would you mind sending/ posting some pics of you w/ clothes, so i can see how someone like you really looks in everday life...

its just in all your pics, they are concentrated on one part of your body, and so i cant get an overall picture of how lean/ skinny/ not u are...



also, even though its a really weird request, i am, as i have previously said, not gay.... and ye.........

This was taken a couple of days ago. After I got back from Bass Pro Shoppes with my son, Quentin.

29" Wrangler Blue Jeans, Large (tight fitting) short-sleeve shirt. I weigh 161 pounds at 5' 7", and ripped head to toe.

The legs of jeans are altered by my wife because they do fit otherwise. The chest has really popped out the last few months, and my back has improved alot. The core I have developed pretty solid, and doesnt take much work anymore (maintenance, and mainly worked indirectly with front squat, lunge, deads, and of course proper nutrition).

In comparison, I used to wear 38 to 40 inch pants (approximately), and I have one pair hanging in my garage as a constant reminder. They look so dang huge! What a feeling this gives, baby! :) In addition, I used to wear a SMALL shirt in comparison. Diet and fitness has made a huge impact in my life and there is no doubt.

My aging body has taken the ultimate challenge my mind gives it, and throws it back begging for more! :)

If someone wants to think I am skinny, need their head examined, and are blind to the "total picture", LOL. Apparently they have forgotten what looken fit looks like when contrasting this with the general publics' inept knowledge of diet and fitness. Actually, I think I look larger in the upper body than most at my height and weight.

Any hoot here is a PIC with cloths on I promised:

And, very soon, brand new updated pics, showing the core, chest, back, arms, and legs. I gained about 6 pounds over all (from last falls bulk), mostly in the chest/back area, and I am currently at 7.8% bf (which is only about 1% less then the other pics I have shown in the past). I look better than any pic I have shown in the past, by a clear margin.
