Weight-Loss The Amazing Race Challenge Omega-3 Team

Weight-Loss
Hey there guys!
I have been so busy this week that I have barely had time to post. :(
I did get my Kiwi's in though it was by the skin of my teeth on a couple of the days! I would forget them until bedtime when I would be "reviewing" the forum. I would then do the smack in the head thing, run to the fridge, grab a kiwi, peel it and stuff it in! LOL You would think after forgetting once I could remember. Or that dh could of at least reminded me to "eat my kiwi"!
I chose to do the tea 'cuz it will actually be a nice benefit to work this weekend. Drinking something nice and hot when your working in a freezer is huge!!! :biggrinjester:
That and I really have no abilities to keep my balance while doing those martial arts things!
Heck sometimes I can barely walk and chew gum at the same time. LOL :smilielol5:
Unfortuanately I did not get a lower weight this week. It actually went up. I am sure it had alot to do with the stress of this past week.
Dd has been struggling at school, dh and I overhauled the budget (which had some heart to hearts mostly mine with a few tears), and T-Dawg's b-day was thrown into the mix. Add that all up and I was a hormonal wreck all week.
I came in at 188.8~ Sorry.......I failed you guys :(
All I can say is that next week hopefully will be a better week for me.
Have fun on your mini-vacation Kimberly! And may wind up with a reminder of it! :hurray:

Dawn - We all have weeks when we do not lose - in fact sometimes we all gain. I was convinced that my weight was going to gain this week and in fact I got a loss. It just goes to show the benefit if only I can keep away from those shreddies.

Hopefully many of those issues that you mention are more settled now. Your son's birthday is behind you all and I am sure that the finances will be slightly easier without a child's birthday (with probable expense associated with parties and presents). Once we have a plan (be it financial, dietary or whatever) - we just need to try to stick to things which is much less stressful than formulating that plan. I am sorry to hear that your daughter is struggling a bit in school. Some of my friends have been through the process of struggling themselves to remember how all those school subjects go - the things that you had to learn and then never used from the moment you leave school - in order to reinforce the teaching in the problem area.

Just like the Christmas splurge pounds (although less fun) these stress pounds will disappear swiftly as you get back on track. That hopefully will actually bring our team an advantage next week. You might be our team's secret weapon that saves our skins next week.

Wow Margaret--I see you'r ticker is down even more!

My weight has not been so pretty the last two days. :( The scale went from 217.5 up to 224lbs today!! Okay, I have not been eating well the last few days, but it's definitely not 6.5lbs of fat. More likely water retention and lack of bathroom action.

I did get in 2hrs of walking yesterday, so I'm up to 2hrs 50min of exercise so far. :hurray: I am sure I'll do more walking today as well.

Thanks Kimberly - I have had a couple more new lows and am pretty pleased about it.

I am sure that (as you say) your sudden gain will be water retention and bathroom action (and I dont mean surfing the forum!). I am sure that when you get home and back to more normal eating / exercising you will be back to your low weight and beyond.

Well done for getting in some walking over the weekend.

I did my walking in the snow today. Indeed this morning it was lying and covered everywhere like a blanket. It has been bright and so the light covering of snow has now melted. This afternoon's snow was just melting on impact (still snowing like that now). The lying snow has gone now apart from a solitary snowman down the road from when children were out playing in it this morning.

Our weather is clearly very very different from yours.

Wow, snow in April! It was 66F/18C here today--and sunny.

Got in another hour of walking today, so that's 3hrs 50min of exercising so far.

Hey you two!
We had fabulous weather here too.
Though I didn't get to enjoy it much as I needed to take a nap before work. And then of course I was at work! LOL
Though they are saying that tomorrow is suppose to be pretty nice out.
I did get 45 minutes of walking in on Saturday since Sweetiepea and I were walking all around the outdoor mall. I am planning on walking to the Y tomorrow morning. Especially if the weather is as nice as they say it should be.
Also starting tomorrow I am going to be doing no breads/no pastas. I did really well trying that about a month ago. I believe I lost like 3 1/2 pounds that week. And after reading Ladybugs diary it reminded me of the week that I did that. So I am going to give it another go.
Hey Kim do you think you could do me a small favor?
With my new budget I do all the grocery shopping on Monday's now. If this weeks challenge is some sort of a food thing could you let me know so that I could get the item ahead of time. Otherwise I struggle with trying to get it because I don't always have enough $ left over.
Luckily this week Sweetiepea saw me mention that I needed to get the Green Tea. She brought me over enough to last for more than 2 weeks!
She really is the bestest best friend ever!
Just let me know.
Thanks

Well my walking is over 11 hours now so we can say that I have done the maximum for the challenge which I calculate to be 9hrs 38min which I have entered on the scoresheet.

Now I just have all those videos to do and some weight to lose. A woman's work is never done!

It sounds like things are certainly going fine for you girls.

Dawn - it was sweet of sweetpea to sort you out like that. I am sure that being good with the bread etc will help. Ladybug certainly had excellent results last week (shame I could not cope with having Slimfast for lunch every day). I axed bread from my diet some time ago and now very rarely have rice or pasta. I only have potatoes with the salmon because it is very hard to argue that I need to improve that meal too much.

It still baffles me that you get in so much walking.
But then again when I walked to the Y the other night (wasn't able to get the walk in this morning boohoo) I was moderately surprised to see just how far I went in such a short amount of time.
So I guess if I really had the time, meaning no distractions aka children! LOL, I could probably log in lots and lots of miles too.
How much time exactly do we have to do this week if it was split evenly 3 ways? I don't recall.

The total was 19hrs 15min which is 1155 minutes. A third of that is 385 minutes which is I think 6hrs 25 minutes.

I have done half at 9hrs 38mins (578 minutes) - so if you and Kimberly each do 4hrs 49mins (289 minutes) we will be ok for the challenge. I can quite understand that you may want to do more than that though for weight loss.

I still have to do the tae kwon do. I had a busy day and so didnt get round to it. I am going to be busy getting it done over the next few days. Dont worry - I will do it. I prefer not to leave things to as near the last minute as this but sometimes life happens.

Well so far I am at
45min ~ walking mall with Sweetiepea
60min ~ PowerCore class
60min ~ walking all over town with T-Dawg
------
165min

And tonight is my Fit for Life class. I am thinking I may walk there. If I do that would add on about 165 minutes. For a grand total of 330 minutes.
If I don't walk it will be more along the lines of 85 minutes with a grand total of 250minutes.
We'll see.
So if I strive for the whole 1/3, as it stands I need to get in 220 minutes.
Just to make it for the team I only need 124 minutes.
(Those figures are before tonights class)
I'm doing good this week!!!
That and everyday has been a Green Tea day.
I really "feel" like there is going to be a good number this week.

Hello ladies!
I'm finally back at home. Our trip got extended a bit, as my gf we visited yesterday really wanted us to spend the night last night. So we did. :D

I have been doing very well with green tea and exercise--up to 4hrs 50min of exercise so far, so I doubt we'll have any trouble getting our 19hrs 15min in this week. So far, we have 1033 minutes, leaving only 2hrs 2min to complete the challenge--and that's not including what bella has planned for Tuesday pm. I also intend to get in a lot more exercise this week, as I've got to do something to get my weight down. I didn't weigh in today, but yesterday was 225!! That's up 7.5lbs from last Friday morning!! Now that I'm back home, and not eating out every meal, I need to cut way back on my calories. I think it's going to be 1200 cal days from now until the end of Thursday. :blush5:

I am pleased that you are both doing well with your exercise and your green tea. There is still time for a noticeable improvement in your weight.

The ticker is up to date so my weight is down a little from last challenge weighing. Nothing like enough to cover that kind of gain though.

I have started on the tai kwon do and it will get completed - but I am not going to get it completed early like I like to get things done. It will be more of a last minute job to get it finished off.

Margaret, I hope you enjoy the Tae Kwond Do! Make sure you dublicate the sounds in the best way. It doesn't count otherwise! :hat:

Flying Front Snap Kick is my favourite! :jump:

I'll do my best - but am certain that your master would be disappointed in me. When I do it - it sounds more like a sneeze.

I dont think that he would be impressed at my jumping kicks either.

I would be the class dunce!

The whole point of the kiyup is to put more of yourself into the moves. HEEYAH!:biggrinjester:

Weight was down to 223 today, so it's slowly getting there. I am eating tons of fiber in hopes of bathroom action to lower it further--as I'm sure it accounts for about half of the extra weight..lol. I am 5.5lbs higher than my weight of last Friday. I have 2 days to get back down to it. I'm hoping that if I can post 0 gain/loss, you and Bella can make up for it, and we'll be safe. :banghead:

I'll do this week's roadblock. :)

Weighed-in this morning .2 lower than my last weeks challenge weight.
So I am officially at 188.6!! Yea-haw!!
It would be awesome to not only go below my lowest of 188.8 for the challenge but to also hit a new all time low!!!
I am really being tight with my calories.
The last 3 days have been--
Monday 1226
Tuesday 1153
Wednesday (so far as of lunch) 527

And of course I have been doing all that walking plus whatever classes I can get to.
So it should be a good weigh-in for me this week.
I have also been drinking my tea. (And a ton of water!)I forgot how much I love sipping hot tea that is Splenda sweetened.
Did get in another 40 minutes of walking yesterday plus 75 minutes at my Fit for life class. That brings my total to......
280 minutes!
I only "need" 9 more minutes to finish up my portion of the challenge but of course will get more than that with my class tomorrow night. As well as I plan to walk to the library again tomorrow.
I think that I am turning into Margaret! LOL :biggrinjester:

Bella--you could certainly turn into worse things than Margaret! :D I'm just worried that your cals are too low for all the exercise you do. Upping them to 1400-1500 a day should still give you the desired effects, without lowering your metabolism. :)
