I'm just about halfway through my 2nd 21 day challenge ... I renewed a commitment to exercise. Tomorrow I have a wake up call from the front desk in my hotel to wake at 6 am so I can get to the gym. I'm not having a very good night of sleep. It's 3 a.m. and I've awoken and can't get back to sleep. But I refuse to let insomnia keep me from my exercise plan. If I need to drink coffee in the morning and have a nap late afternoon on the plane ride home, so be it. Sometimes it's hard...

this was a great idea for a club

I'll have to think of something that I want to tackle with this approach.

I really hate counting my calories as it is such a pain - but it always makes me act in a more controlled manner...
If truth be told I have only forced myself to do it for the last couple of weeks for a challenge on another diet forum.

Here is a commitment to count my calories and report them here for the next 21 days.

I'm gonna copy Korrie and make the same commitment, as I find it difficult to drink the proper amount of water every day and I tend to forget about it!

Have a problem also with excess snacking due to not being happy/emotional eating, thanks to this forum this has reduced by 70% and a step in the right direction, breakfast oatmeal and tea, lunch protein meal substitute, dinner normal plate of whatever is available and then late night snacking used to be terrible, now am down to two sandwiches only (used to be 3-4 packets of crisps, 3-4 loaded sandwiches, soda, milk, anything that's in the fridge, chocolates and more), used to feel bloated and bad but not anymore.
Exercise is the next issue to tackle, obviously need to do more but work hard caring for people and then have no energy left, once get into a routine have to force myself to get going, hasn't happened as yet.

This is a reply to dorbledog

James100 - I'm pleased that the forum is helping you. Why not join our club. You could pick one of the things that is taking you some effort and report in every day when you accomplish it.

Corina - how did day 2 go? I hope that day 3 is going well.

Korrie - I hope that day 1 is going well.

I'm still counting my calories...

I had a bad couple of days and have to admit that Saturday's is an approximation and it could be higher...

We ate out (which is always a killer for counting calories) and the restaurant did not publish calories... I have made the best guess that I can - but my calories could easily be more... quite possibly a lot more... I strongly suspect that my sodium level was a lot higher than fitday implied for these items too... maybe our restaurants add a lot more salt to the cooking than the ones that fitday checked...

I tried to pick healthy choices - but then everyone wanted us to taste each others food... the nan bread for instance was a giant piece and everyone tore chunks off a giant sheet of nan that was hanging up like the sail of a yacht. I counted like I had a full individual nan bread but I might have had more... then I tried to pull the calories back by not having my suppertime blueberries and yoghurt... this meant that Saturday was not only bad calories but was low on protein and fibre...

I was ravenously hungry the next day... I ended up going high calories again and getting particularly high numbers for both protein and fibre - as if my body was craving the good things that it had missed on Saturday.

Thankfully my eating has got back to normal now.

How is everyone else doing?
