I look at it this way... is the challenge motivating people? YES. It really is. It's nice to win, but... I know, this is so corny, but as long as it motivates us to do good things for our bodies, we're all winning. :)
 
I think we're missing BlueWonder from our team so that's al ittle bit fairer.
Shame though, :(
 
Hey guys, sorry bout my lack of contact much so far!! But I am finally here and FINALLY earning us some points, finally got my butt to gym today and renewed my membership for 3 more months , it had expired in may .... (shameful)

But I did 30 mins cardio (treadmill and stepper) 20 mins weights (mainly leg work) and 20 mins swimming laps. Feels so good to be exercising, I wish you could bottle up that feeling you get after a good work out and use it when you're being lazy on couch!!

I wouldn't worry too much about losing a member, I'm gonna use it to motivate me to work even harder!!!

My diet last 3 days hasn't been perfect, but I am slowly cutting out the snacking, I just need to up my intake of fruit and veg.

I agree with sk24, it's just motivation for us to work harder to make up for that loss!

The teams will probably end up becoming even towards the end anyway.

I only did 15 mins of exercise yesterday. Damn study and lying in front of the heater caused me to crash out on the floor lol.

Also, I snuck in a small piece of pudding yesterday but it was within my calorie count so all is good :D

I'm exercising BEFORE doing any study today. Belly dancing anyone?

Well no exercise for me today :banghead: I really feel like a lazy blob now. I sure hope my foot heals pretty fast. I had to go back to using the elevator at work so even lost that for my added exercise for the day. Only thing thats on track is my eating guess I'm thankful for at least that. Hope everyone else had a good day.....Hopefully I will be able to walk a little better by tomorrow I don't think I can go another day not doing much. Nite all..

Good job on getting to the gym! I really wish that I could join a gym. I just do all of my exercise at home, where it's free, because I am poor. :D

15 minutes better than nothing, right? :) And I LOVE belly dancing. I did an hour of it today.

So, here I am checking in with my daily exercise count. An hour of belly dancing, 10 minutes of kick-boxing, and 50 minutes of strength training for a total of two hours. :) Have a terrific day everyone!
 
Well I did the shred yesterday and an extra 10 mins of ab exercises.

I also weighed myself this morning... I haven't lost anything :( I'm hoping this morning was a fluke and tomorrow it will reflect some kind of change. Thinking of getting electric scales. It's annoying trying to guess with analog ones.

Now I'm more determined to work harder!
 
Hello everyone. I will be off work soon and hoping my foot will let me do some form of exercise. I've ate on plan today and have drank lots of water. Been searching online trying to find community centers or something that offer exercise classes. I get bored at times doing things by myself. Maybe one of these days my hubby will decide to get himself in gear and join me. Sucks sometimes having to watch him eat stuff he shouldn't be eating when I so could easily give in and have it myself. I don't bother him about it though last time I asked he told me " why do I have to do something just because you decide to do it". :argue: I only asked because I do think its harder to stay on a plan when the people closes to you are not willing to change their bad habits as well. Oh well I can only help myself I guess........I will update later.
 
Oh I forgot to mention this morning I got on the scale and I am now 219.4 LBS. I'm so happy to be in the two/teens. For some reason it just makes me feel like I'm so much closer to getting out of the 200's. I can't believe that May 28th I was 40Lbs away from being 300lbs and now I see my first goal of 199 LBS right around the corner.:party:

I did 1 hour of cardio yesterday (Wednesday) and planning on the same again tonight. I decided that I needed to make a few simple rules extra rules for myself to follow, and I came up with them based on the mistakes I've made in the past when trying to lose weight, so they are

1. No snacking in the car/stopping only to pick up snack food when driving
2. Drink 2 Litres of water per day, I'm keeping a bottle with me at all times now.
3. No soft drinks (I love,love , love diet coke!!)
4. No eating after dinner (ie approx 7pm for me) this is going to be a big one for me, my worst habit is eating snacks in the evenings.
5. Having a healthier breakfast (not a problem) and then eating a more substantial lunch, I usually find I'm hungry by 3/4 pm even after having lunch at 1pm so I need to figure out a better meal for lunch, or a healthy snack for 3/4pm(I never feel like eating fruit at that time)

Anyway I know they are all obvious rules but having them written down usually helps me follow them.

Anyone else get nervous for the first weigh in on Sunday, I know its only week one, but I always get so disheartened in week two if I haven't had a loss in week one, stupid I know!!
 
okay got 1.5 points today(thursday)! Did 1 hr and 20 mins of cardio and 10 mins of weights, legs feel tired now!! Diet wasn't the best today, couldn't resist a donut earlier and had 2 chocolate bars too, frustrating!!

Not going to be able to fit in exercise tomorrow as I'm working, so just going to aim for perfect eating all day!

I hope everyone is doing ok. As for myself I did really well on my menu and got a little bit of exercise in. Next week I have off so I'm sure I will be getting loads of extra exercise in. I think it will be nice not having to exercise after a long day of working. My next big step in my getting healthy plan is to stop smoking. I know, I know very bad, nasty habit :puke:. I just ordered one of those E-cigarettes. I've heard alot of good things about them from people I know. I have been doing so well on my diet plan that I'm not worried at all about stopping. 2010 is going to be my year for totally turning my life around.

I took the dog for an hours walk. I pretty much had to drag him the last 50 metres though cause he is so unfit, but an adorable fatty nonetheless.

I weighed myself this morning and I was 81.5 so I've dropped 1.5 kg so far! Can't wait to get under the 80s!
 
Moodringgrl...my SIL tried those Ecigs and they worked really well for her!! Im glad you made the choice to quit!!

Reporting in my exercise for yesterday and today.

Yesterday was 30 minutes of Yoga, 30 minutes of belly dancing, 20 minutes aerobics, and a 10 minute walk for an hour and a half total.

Today was 40 minutes of strength training, 20 minutes of Yoga, 50 minutes Dance Cardio, and 10 minutes aerobics for a total of 2 hours.

That brings my weekly total up to 10 hours. Usually I would also work out on Saturday but I'll be at my Grandmother's house all weekend visiting and don't know how many opportunities I will have to workout. Maybe none. We'll see what happens!
 
HI GUYS!!! Congrats on your 1st full week of this competition!!!...Tommorrow is the 1st day of the 2nd week....Its our 1st weigh in day AND its the start of mini challenges!!!

This week (starting tomorrow) our mini challenge will be to drink half your weight in ounces of water. So if you weigh 200lbs, you'll drink 100 oz. of water! One point for every day you stuck with this challenge!!!

I'm ready for the weigh in tomorrow I've been sticking to my plan strickly. Oh and nice challenge I already drink a gallon of water a day so I will be over the goal amount. I hope everyone has a good weigh in tomorrow and that everyone has been doing well with the exercise.
 
Well done for week one everyone, just recording my exercise - did nothing on friday as I was working, but got in two sessions today(Saturday), did 1 hour of cardio this morning and I'm just back from a 40 min run now, I've signed up for a 10km race in a month, so this challenge is really motivating me to get moving, thanks!!

I love the mini challenge, great idea, see you all tomorrow for the weigh-in...

Thats so awesome I can't wait til I'm ready to start running. I'm working on it slowly....
