Senior needs help with my work outs.

We’re dog sitting again this weekend, so we didn’t get out for our morning walk, but the pool is heated so I swam laps for 1/2 hr. I swam (swimmed) aprox. 10 laps then rested 30 sec, which accounts for up/down cycles in my heart rate.

Another swimming workout in the pool today. I know I swam slower, but I did swim 82 laps, starting & ending in the shallow end, but my Apple Watch 4 thinks I only swam 81 laps.
I had hoped to slow my pace & be more consistent, but my heart rate shows that didn’t happen.

Home 2 days after dog sitting & swimming, the temperature dropped overnight, it’s 10C this morning. The forecast high today 20C later in the pm. We’ll be delaying our morning’s walk till it warms up a little.

Looking back. When I tell people about the 50 lbs of weight I dropped, they often say , ya, I can see it in your face.
I looked back to 2012 (stripes , weight 255 lbs) 2019 (retired 225 lbs) & last week sunglasses (205lbs)

The 2nd half of my working career was dedicated to mechanical design engineering. This t-shirt sums up the challenge:

I love the diving T-shirt especially!
A Liberal (Conservative here) politician once said "I'm a fixer. I fix things" & it has become something we say (ironically) occasionally when we manage to fix something ourselves.

Today we walked the triangle north of our country subdivision. It’s actually 4.9km but there’s a gap along the top where we stopped to let Bella do her business (I paused my walk while I cleaned up after her) & I forgot to restart my Apple Watch.

Today’s walk was brutal! We headed out around 7:30 am, but temperature was already 23C and 90% humidity.
At 4:00 pm the temperature was up to 31C with humidity index feeling like 40C.

Another hazy hot day here in Eastern Ontario, Canada. We were out for our walk early (7:00 am) temperature was 21C . Fortunately we have a road to the north that is well shaded in the early morning.
Checked my weight: still holding at 205 lbs

I see a Canadian road like this & I imagine bears appearing from behind a tree. Do you have them near you, Mike?

We do not normally see or hear of bear sightings in the area. However the county landfill site is just 5 km north and black bear have been seen scavenging there. About a month ago there was a sighting of an adolescent black bear walking along river road. We have never seen one though. When walking or when my wife runs we have our phones playing our walking/running play list on max volume. The saying is the dangerous bear is a surprised one! Typically they avoid humans & if they hear us coming they leave. (That’s the hope anyway) & It is the advise given by our ministry of natural resources. So far so good.

Today temperature was lower 18C. Bella & I walked 5km together. She’s 11-1/2 years old so I let her set a comfortable pace. Our first kilometre is always slower, We have multiple stops to pee, & clean up poop of course . Notice our elapsed time is 3 min longer than our actual walking time.

I'm glad you don't see bears on your walks but having loud music playing would probably be enough to frighten them away. It would be interesting to see how many stops my little dog has on our walks. He has to sniff all the sniffs & pee absolutely everywhere. Are you going to get one of those T-shirts, Mike?

That's hilarious!
