Senior needs help with my work outs.

For the record “we” is my wife & I, Bella’s contribution to yard work is following us around & guarding against ever present chipmunks & squirrels. Bio Steel is a sports hydration drink. LOL My son-in-law coaches minor hockey, & Bio Steel is a team sponsor, so we get it at a great reduced price.
Now that’s cleared up what a difference temperature makes! Yesterday is was 20C , but this morning it’s 17C during our walk. Bella & I took a whole minute per kilometre off our time this morning. We usually average about 12min/km.

:D Thanks for easing my mind. I'm now 100% convinced you're earthlings and not aliens wearing human/dog suits.

I definitely see the value of a work out partner. Today is Bella’s spa day. She at the groomer for bath conditioner & nails. My wife ( who runs 5km regularly) decided to walk with me & she set a faster than usual pace for us. Turned out to be the best walk of this season. Fastest pace, longest distance & higher calories burned.

At 11 years old, I would never push her to go that fast. We’re going to split the walk into two. 2km at Bella’s comfortable pace. Then go out for a faster 3km.

This morning’s walk with Bella. We stopped at 3km. Bella was still doing well, but it’s lawn day & I’ll have 46-50 min of hand mowing after the morning’s dew burns off.

We managed to get 3km walk with Bella jut before a severe thunderstorm warning came in on our phones. We heard rumblings off in the distance, so we needed our walk. Checking the weather network Doppler radar showed heavy showers approaching. I’m glad we Stopp when we did.

We don't get the sort of storms you do. I was in Baltimore once visiting my sister & they had the most exciting storm I have ever seen. Scary stuff though. My dog would freak out. How does Bella react?

Bella absolutely hates & fears thunderstorms & fireworks. She will go downstairs to the furnace room where it’s dark (no windows) & furnace/AC fan drowns out the sounds of rumblings or pops & bangs of fireworks.

This morning’s walk was split in 2 parts. We started out with Bella at her comfortable pace. We dropped her off at home at about 2.5 km, then my wife & I went back out & she ( the alpha) set a speedier pace& we broke 10min/km on the last 2km.

3rd day in a row. 3 km with Bella, then another 3 with my wife Sharon.
We had similar times to yesterday.
The extra distance & faster pace seems to be paying off.
My VO2 max has increased again.
We have our grandchildren Wednesday-Saturday this week & we’re taking them Treetop Trekking & zip lining. Better make sure the hot tub is ready, I can feel the aching muscles now. 😆

Today’s walk with Bella was 4 km with average split time 11 min 15 sec per km.
Today was start of yard work for the week, 1hr 19 min doing the edging with gas string trimmer. The gap in the workout is when I had to refill the string spool.

Another walking morning with my wife (Sharon) & Bella. We dropped Bella back at the house at 3km , then Sharon & I went out for another 3km . Last km was a little slower as we stopped to get the mail.
