Now I don't know if the books are for you or little Miss but either way Pokémon-covered books would make everything better :D

It was all of the school books for little miss. but painting Piplup onto the bright orange pencil case was challenging, wetsuit type material doesn't take fabric paint well but it will certainly be unique and is exactly what she wanted. I may still need to go back and touch up some bits but at least it looks like what it is supposed to be.

A secondhand full set of the Narnia books I ordered arrived in the post today from the UK, D is planning to read them as her bedtime books.

feeling tired tonight, had to clear a fallen tree from the driveway this morning then moved some chicks to the pen with the fresh concrete floor before coaching tonight which involved a lot of demo work. Demonstrating how to bail out from a failed squat was part of todays training, with quite a few practice reps with low weight.

It is important to know how to fail in a safe way when back squatting. It is poor planning if you fail a lift with heavy weight and have never learned how to or built up the confidence to dump the bar with or without safeties.

I swear if you lived around here I'd send half my patients to you for the transition from therapy back to normal exercise. You'd probably be very bored with them but I'd feel so much happier knowing they're safe.

Better to be busy than to be bored :)

this mornings activity was sword fights with the cardboard inner tubes of some paper rolls. A phone call from middle son R before he goes to CanCon for the day, he wanted to know if there was anything I wanted him to keep an eye out for at the convention. I think he is looking for a larp weapon for his sister while getting in some game time for games he already plays and trying out some new games. He suggested I let little miss use the maul I keep in one of the wardrobes but I don't think I feel like being beaten up with a giant foam hammer today.

eating has been a bit out of control today but could have been worse.

Going to get a heap of passionfruit from a local farm tomorrow to make a batch of passionfruit mead. the fruit is $2 for 10 and is not suitable for supermarkets because of a mix of surface blemishes or not perfect in shape but are super sweet. If they have any turmeric at the farm gate I will pick up some of that as well.

It has been a bit of a nothing day today, tomorrow is the first day of school for little miss. After she is all settled in then I need to video D doing some exercises in the gym, I have had a request for Inch worms and ab exercises.

I am so envious of you being able to buy passionfruit so readily. When they're available here they are $1.50 each. I absolutely love passionfruit!

Chose to stay close to the landline to be easily contactable today. Completed a 5k on the rower with 15 minutes spent on HR zone 4 the rest of the row was zone 3. Almost hit zone 5 in the last 800 meters, 2 beats too slow.

Recorded D this afternoon in the gym, It is 40c outside, I don't normally post Facebook reels so this video is a bit of an experiment. I still have a McGill curl-up and a dead-bug to edit.

He could still make some minor improvements to his form but it is still a good demo especially pushing out to the full range of motion at the bottom where the core needs to do some serious work to hold position.

I can't watch at work but given your previous videos I would be interested in a (voice-over or subtitle) commentary of his strong and weak points for the exercise shown.

I still don't have the confidence in my own voice to do a voice over, however things I note that could be improved is his core control just before his hands touch the ground just as his hamstrings reach full stretch, you can see a bit of sharp movement without the slow control seen in the rest of the exercise. He is also not engaging his glutes as well as he could where you see hips are still slightly raised in the plank position.

He has not done this exercise prior to today, so this is after a light warmup and a couple of practice runs. Also worth noting he was feeling very stiff prior to warmup so his usual level of mobility was a little restricted.

I am also scratching my head as to why I have had thousands of views within the first hour of posting the video online compared to the usual 100 or so views. I am not an "influencer" I am not selling anything online, the video posts are informational and to give a small insight into what I can offer as a coach locally so 4.5 k views this afternoon is insanely high for me.

Little bit disappointed with todays rowing WOD, felt my lactate threshold in my legs but struggled to get my heartrate up with it stubbornly sitting mostly in zone 1, a bit of zone 2 and less than 30 seconds of the 30 minute 5 k row in zone 3.

I gave up on trying to work out what WOD stood for & looked it up. Do you row every day, Tru? It must be hard in your hot & humid climate.
