Had to look up torsonator squat: I didn't know that thing had a proper name. Do you use it frequently?

With my shoulder ROM issues if I am having a bad day I sometimes do not have the mobility to place and hold the bar correctly for back squats and I find front BB squats uncomfortable so using the torsonator I can complete the weighted movement without undue stress on my shoulders.

I am aware most people refer to the Torsonator as a landmine but Uni pointed out that the term landmine can be a trigger word for ex military clients with PTSD and suggested we always refer to it as a Torsonator to avoid any unfortunate triggers.

I do use it a fair bit for for a range of exercises that would otherwise exacerbate or cause problems either for me or a client.

I dislike cardio day, but 30 minutes complete and I do enjoy the feel of the lactate energy system in action.

Music: AC/DC, Alice Cooper, Aqua, B52s

Have also done a little bit of painting minis today.

Just finished an hour with the brush-cutter, still too hot outside even at this time of the evening.

I honestly don't know how you cope with the heat. We had one really hot day here Tuesday of last week & it was horrible.

I think it was about 35°C (95°F) at about lunchtime when I wend down to the gym to train, it is back under 30 now but just don't feel like more garden work right now at 1/4 to 6 lol

Todays painting effort, phone pic misses a lot of detail but I am too lazy to set up lighting and use my good camera lol these are 28mm scale figs which basically means the dwarf with the hammer is 28mm tall roughly.

Not much happening today, the power is out so trying to keep the house cool with the big fan (uses a rechargeable battery) instead of the AC, the generator runs most of the house including the the water pump and satellite, but my laptop is running off battery. It is too humid outside to do much.

The power goes out a fair bit where you are, Tru. I think we should probably have a generator, to run our water pump mainly. It’s 20 here & comfortable thank goodness.

I think it important to have a generator when living regional, especially in Queensland and we are just moving into storm/wet season. Although I have never been through a direct cyclone hit we are in a cyclone zone with all the extra structural building codes that go with it. Years a go a tornado went through the property but the house was fine. I had never seen such wind and did not know what was happening at the time. There is a hell of a lot of structural reinforcement under the skin of our little weatherboard home.

If a cyclone or big storm hits it is possible for the power to be out for many days.

The generator we have is the type you can run electronic devices with and as usual started in 4 pulls. Power is back on now so I need to get fuel from the shed to top it up so it is ready to go for next time.

Glad you have power back. I remember the power going out somewhat regularly back in the 80s but these days my parents' place isn't really rural anymore so things are a lot more stable.

todays tasks have been planning my timetable for Uni with fingers crossed I can get the timeslots that I want on the 18th when uni opens for class time selections.

Had a look at what I need in the way of textbooks, I will need 2 X $150 textbooks for functional anatomy which is primarily focused on kinesiology, rehab and gait analysis. No set textbook for my other subject

Textbooks are so expensive! Glad (judging by what my nephews have to buy) there's a trend toward using fewer full textbooks. In most areas a textbook will be outdated within a couple of years anyway.

While true some textbooks go out of date quite a lot in a short time, many that I have needed only have small differences altered compared to previous versions. I have found it useful to refer so some of them outside of the parts needed for actual study and my Exercise Physiology text from last semester is actually an interesting read with only a small portion of it touch on at uni. I have been spending 30 minutes of so each day working through bit that are of interest which should put me in a good place when I do Exercise Physiology 2 hopefully in semester 2 this year.

While I don't want to follow the clinical path with my focus being on sport performance it will be good to have a more in depth knowledge of rehab and it will coincide with my husband needing to relearn how to walk after his surgery. They are going to bypass the blockage in his leg (they now believe it was originally caused by the blood vessel being pinched and blocked by muscle tissue - more testing for this will be done in his other leg in a couple of weeks) the surgery will involve taking a length of blood vessel from his good leg to bypass the damaged area. His heart etc. are all in excellent condition.

It's good news that your husband's ticker is good, Tru & you certainly will have great knowledge to help with his rehab.

It is a bit overcast this morning so a little bit cooler for the coaching session shortly, I still need to pack the battle rope and a sandbag into the car.

We got a new air fryer a few days ago, it has been awhile since I have cooked in one, it done a great job of the snags last night however I will need to fine tune the cooking temp to avoid the oil in the drip tray reaching its smoke point towards the end of the cooking time. The quantity of excess oil was a lot less than expected.

It is hard to find good quality sausages with my allergy because the vast majority have wheat in them.
