Oof, glad he's ok but what a fright that would have been. I assume the claudication is bloodflow-related, not spinal? Either way I hope that turns out ok as well.
the claudication is lower leg only, he had surgery almost 10 years ago with yearly checkups which ended 6 months ago. he is having similar symptoms again, he had a scan waiting for results.

At least the fix held for a good long while.

Bored, waiting at Brisbane airport, sons flight is delayed, I won't get home till after midnight

D is fine, and I am finally away. D struggled to recognise our eldest he has changed a lot in the last 3 years.

I have been in a bit of a mental funk

heat wave again today, 40 degrees, a storm is starting to roll in. got my official marks for my subjects, a distinction and a high distinction

You seem to have had one thing after another, Tru. Try not to take on too much. Can Christmas be simple?
40oC? Ouch!
Congratulations on your marks

Take care, Tru. I hope you get some rest over the holidays and the weather sees some sense for a while. Dealing with extremes like that must be so draining.

coaching this morning, got to go and pick up a fridge in the trailer shortly, it is a bit bigger than the one we have and the seals have stared to deteriorate on our fridge but found a good secondhand one (owner is upgrading to bigger fridge). $300 is much better than almost $2000 for a new one.

hubby saw a vascular surgeon yesterday, they can not see any systemic causes of the problem, but the artery has a bulge from when it was patched last time and this bulge makes it more prone to blockage. this time they will do a bypass, due to location and age he is too young for a stent and stents don't bend well so directly at the back of the knee is a bad spot to put one. surgery date is likely to be towards end of next month.

That fridge sounds like a very good buy, Tru.
That sucks about D's knee, but hopefully having a bypass will fix it up. It must be very uncomfortable for him. I hope the two of you will be able to have an enjoyable Christmas & get a chance to have some relaxing time.

we think the fridge was great value, it is a good brand and because we had the ability to pick the fridge up ourselves meant our options for bargain hunting were good, it is running great this morning.

today we have to drive down the coast to look at a car for hubby, he has his insurance payout but there are no used cars locally that are suitable. then back home to coach tonight.

Car should be delivered for pick up in town on Friday.

Finally got the tree up for little miss to decorate with a little help to reach to top bits. We had a large chunk of our place slashed today, 5 hours with the large tractor is better than us struggling with it and it needed to be done to keep the fuel load down considering the fire risks.

Helped little miss tie up a T-shirt for her to tie-die for her Xmas present for D along with a couple more of her shirts so as not to waste the dye which needed to be mixed.

D is in town sorting out a barbie doll house (her grandparents send us the money to get her present locally rather than worrying about Xmas postage). I hated dolls as a kid but she likes barbie.

Reminds me of the picture of the cat lounging on the Barbie balcony with the caption "Ate Barbie. My house now." I hope all us well and you get through these stressful times ok.

It sounds like you’re organised for Christmas, Tru. I couldn’t stand dolls either when I was a kid. I would love to have our paddocks slashed. We have so many rocks though.
What car did you end up getting?
