Running: A New Endeavor

Same here, I'm excited...I don't know why either. I have every expectation of being one of the last to finish, so there's no pressure, but I'm just a little nervous.

When I see the finish line, I'm gonna kick it though!

Maybe for fun I'll do a Paula Radcliffe style pit stop and drop a deuce on Main Street LMAO!

When is this run you guys are talking about ?

I started getting more into running as well, so just wanted to drop by and say hallo, don't be a stranger and be sure to pop into my journal sometime as well.
 
It was tonight, a few hours ago. Those are the pint glasses we got from the running club. He did quite a bit better than I did, but damn it, I'm just proud I never walked! I ran the whole way and it was a steep ass hill. That's why the race was so short.

I'll check yours out man, I've just felt so ****ty the last several days I just jump in here and I'm done
 
Started 4200 calories last night....lost .2 lbs this morning:mad:

I think my body might be ready to put some weight on though. I'm so hungry this morning

I think 90% of the people there were real runners..part of the club and all seemed to know one another so I feel even better about it.

It was an out and back course and during the first half you climbed 73 feet, then came back down the same way

I just looked at mine and they're the GT 2120s as well. Maybe with these shoes, a new aortic valve and LOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTS of running, I can trim my 28min 5K to a sub 25-min. 5K Holy Grail (for me anyways).

I have an aortic valve regurgitation and a dilated ascending aorta that will require surgery. My cardiologist told me not to do anything but walk and light work with no exercise until I have this surgery done. I hope to have it done in early April and get on with my life.
 
Well, that's good you can get it done fairly quickly and move on. It sucks that someone like you has to go through this when you see people who lie around on the couch eating chips with no health problems....but you should recover quickly being in such good shape.

I have a mild heart murmur...luckily it causes me no problems. I've had all the tests and half the time they don't even hear it.

It will be good to see you back in the saddle!!

If you can, get an echocardiogram (ECG) some time. My dilated aorta was only diagnosed after I had an ECG after a mild murmur was detected for the first time in January.

That's good that you had that done. A lot of docs won't authorize an ECG with a murmur. That's one less thing to worry about.

How long did you last on the stress test? I went 14:30. My cardiologist thinks I will break 16:00 after my surgery. For reference, the FAA requires their pilots and NASCAR requires drivers to be able to go 12:00. Now, if only I knew how to drive a NASCAR or 747, I'd be set...

Yeah!!!! A great time was had Friday eve, theGOOCH is a cool dude, and the race went great!
