For me, I'll start running, and I'm thinking to myself..."what the hell, my legs are all crusty!" But a couple minutes into it, I'm usually warmed up and going strong. The first few steps though, every joint and scrap of muscle is a little off.
I ended up lifting today after all. I'm not back up to snuff yet, but at least I broke a sweat. I think deads actually helped the pain a little
I don't want to hear it, MMW, 2.5 miles in 18 minutes? You didn't tell me you were a ringer
...well I picked up a runner's world magazine and read about Paula Radcliffe (who until yesterday was completely unknown to me) running a 10K in 42 minutes while 6 months pregnant....friggin crazy ...damn near the same time it took me to do my first 3 miles
Hahaha! Man, I have always had pretty decent running abilities. And for the record, I was hauling ass to get that kind of time in. A comfortable pace would take me several minutes longer!
never heard of her? hahha she just the one that craps in front of the entire world - just pull the suit to one side and let it go. OH- and let's go ahead and set the world record for womens marathon distance, oh and lets run one without drinking or eating anything- just to show it can be done.... oh anda , and a, and a .....
she is proof positive woman may not alwayw be stronger or faster, but they are definatley TOUGHER!!!
I'm going to rest today in preparation for the race tomorrow. I call it a race, but all I care about is finishing and not getting beaten by too many 8 year old girls
I'm going to focus on force feeding myself and starting to gain back some of this weight. I'm starting to feel too skinny
I walked a lot around campus today, but didn't do any running. Did cleans and deadlifts yesterday so I'm pretty sore anyways. I'm a little nervous about tomorrow, but also excited! Get pumped GOOCH!
I feel better, but I'm still losing weight for some reason. I'm going to be below 180 by next week at this rate. I guess I'm going to have to bump up over 4000 calories
Damn, I want to have your problem. If I ate 4000 calories, I'd gain 5 pounds a week!
OK, I'm ready too. Man, it's a crappy day out though. I get out of work at 4:30, and I'm gonna try to get downtown between 5:30 and 6:00 I suppose. What are your plans or thoughts? I don't wanna be down there too long before the race and just freeze up...
I think I'll get there at 5:30, maybe slightly earlier...I don't know my way around downtown too well. Is there parking right there?
The scale number is depressing, but I was looking in the mirror and damn I'm lean! I already have a runner's body....a runner that lifts that is, not a pipe cleaner. I sure don't want that "no muscle mass" look
Parking can be a pain, unless you're ok with paying. I refuse to ever pay for parking cause I'm cheap. I usually get off on the Gilbert exit, go straight through the light, and it pops me out right on 8th Street. I usually find parking there, or hop up to 9th Street. I just don't know how busy it will be though.
So what did you find out about getting a shirt or whatever? Just go up beforehand and give your name?
Yeah, beforehand at Cue-1142 Main (whatever the hell that is)
That's what I like about the suburbs. We have this invention called "parking lots" I'll have to pick up my stuff then go back to my car because I don't have anyone to hold anything for me.
I don't know how many people will be there. Just look for a guy with a buzzcut and beard wearing all black. (I'll have a black Bengals equipment long sleeve on) and maybe you've seen my pics on here
OK, I need to remember that it's on Main Street or I'll be wandering around the wrong area, haha.
Yeah see, I'm used to not having any parking spots so it doesn't even bother me. I think I'll have to do the same thing about taking the crap to my car. Although if its just some paper and a shirt, I'll just throw the shirt over what I have on and toss the papers.
I'll be in red/white adidas shorts and a long sleeve white shirt. I've seen your pics, should recognize you if we cross paths.
