Weight-Loss Run!

Weight-Loss
Treadmill the last two days due to unseasonable snow in Minneapolis.

30 minutes
3.05 miles

32 minutes today
3.30 miles

This has been tough since I am fighting off a cold or something as well. I long to run outside again :)

Treadmill day again. Damn weather. I really wish it would warm up so I can get outside.
Anyways.......
30 mins
2.8 miles
varied the speeds again today started at 5 and worked up to 6.5 then back down to 5.5 and finished at 6

Hope you get better weather soon GGH. Nice work getting one in anyway.

Run

My hips were pretty tight this evening. I did some extra warmup and it loosened up some, but they were still tight when I started running so I took it easy. It was the right move as they feel better now.

No running today, but I did order some sports glasses. Running with my prescription sunglasses is no option, they're way too heavy.
So decided to splurge on decent glasses I can run with. Should be ready in about two weeks, just in time for another half marathon :)
Going out for a long run tomorrow morning, no need for sunglasses then, looks like rain

It's always fun getting a new running toy. Have fun tomorrow.

Run

Kind of a bummer that an extra 13 bpms for a half hour only nets me another 10th of a mile.

I'm thinking about running a charity 5K on Saturday.

Nice Q, will that be your first event/race? Good luck if you decide to enter (and you should :) )

Wow, what a training, I really surprised myself today.
Started off at an easy pace of 10 km/h dead, after the first ten I sped up a little. did the second 10k in 56 minutes, and really went for it in the last few which went by in less than 5 mins.
My HM time for this training was only 2,5 mins above my PB, in a training... crazy :beating:
So the stats are:
23 km
2h 11 mins
Avg BPM: 127 (crazy low)
Max BPM: 157

So later today I'm off to the festival, for 3 days of music and fun.
Have fun on your next runs guys, see you all next week!

Awesome run Guideon!

1st annual Easter 5K trail run
Clock Time: 37:32
Pace: 12:06/mile
Overall: 36 / 47
Gender: 24 / 27
Age Group: 3 / 3

My first race. I beat my best 5K time by more than 5 and a half minutes and wasn't dead last. It was a lot of fun and I'm glad I did it. Age group is people my age. Awards were actually just split under40/above 40 though.

I got a 1xl tshirt that fits, goodie bag, participant medal, and won $150 gift cert to a spa.

My average heart rate was 172 bpm. Max was 180. I didn't feel like I was dying at any point, but my muscles did burn and I am a bit stiff already.

The top 2 places where in the 18 minute range and 3rd was 20 min. Very supportive and friendly people.

Just a nice slow recovery run. It got the blood flowing into the sore muscles and got my joints loosened up a bit. Back in January I ran the same distance and time and my average HR was 148 BPM. So I have a long ways to go, but I've come a ways too.

Nice run Quercus, not bad at all for your fist race. I love the races- I used to be pretty active in the local running community around here and finished fairly well several times. I am going to get into them more this year just to give me a goal.
Anywho, I am a couple runs behind.

Friday- treadmill
4.15 in 40

Saturday- outside, finally
5.02 in 48:48.86

Thanks! I met quite a few nice people at the race. I look forward to getting in with running folks. Very nice runs Reloaded!

HR seems a bit high for the distance, but it may be because my muscles are sore and I talked the whole time. Moderate difficulty.

Even though I was completely worn out after the music festival and a nice reunion yesterday with my former college-flatmates (and a 9 hour day at work today) I went for a run.

8,10 km
43:10 mins
Avg BPM: 127
Max BPM: 147

Quick update for myself from yesterday.
treadmill- I am starting to think the majority of my runs will be on it due to the ease with time, etc.
30 min
3.21 miles
fastest 30 min in a few years- not great but getting better.

Very nice getting a run in when beat Guideon! Reloaded, that's faster than my long term goal by a good bit. Nicely done!

4/22/14 Treadmill run
30 min
2.1 miles
1.5-3 incline

I hate running on a treadmill, but I didn't get the opportunity to run until 10pm and so it was hotel treadmill.

tonight's run
30 min
2.16 miles
152 bpm avg hr
Another long day, but short enough to run just before dark. Just having dinner at 9:50 sucks.

I completely agree that eating that late sucks- makes everything seem off.
I have to deal with hotel treadmills more often than I care to- they are so hit and miss. That being said I do not mind the treadmill- it has its uses- but only for 30-40 minutes. Any longer and I am wanting to die of boredom.

Yesterday's run
30 min
3.24 miles

Interval run:
3x10 mins, 4 mins rest
Distance: 9,99 km
Time: 50 min 04 sec
Avg BPM: 147
Max BPM: 164

Bit too fast in first interval, but overall good training

Next run: long run with a buddy on his turf :)

Had a wonderfull trailrun yesterday with my buddy. 25 km in 2h35mins. Running together is very nice, time really flied by.
AVG BPM: 137
max BPM: 147

25km! That's half an ultramarathon! Super impressed man! How are you feeling? I'd be trashed. That's my normal run plus a half marathon!

4/24/2014 run
30 minutes
2.09 miles

Friday and Saturday off

Sunday Run
30 minutes
2.20 miles

My stomach didn't feel well the last few days. I was working in south Texas all week and it was in the mid 90s. Working long day and then running probably made me dehydrated and that may be the trouble. I also drank a lot of shitty gas station/hotel coffee last week made with the terrible water they have.

Any longer and I am wanting to die of boredom.
That and for me I sweat so much more or rather it doesn't evaporate. The tiny gym I was in was really stuffy and with no air movement from running I was a big fat sprinkler the whole time.

I sweat more than the average human being so i totally get where you are coming from. My line is 'I sweat standing still in the winter time'. I have gotten over it at the gym though. If you do not want to see someone sweat dont come to the gym.
