Weight-Loss Run!

Weight-Loss
I'm back in the game! Not done anything since before I went away in mid June but I've set myself a Christmas goal so need to get back into it.

Before I went away I completed week 6 day 2 of c25k so I've decided to go back to the start of week 6 to get back into it, think the 22 minute run of day 3 would be a good idea. Run was alright, weather was nice and overcast but not windy so pretty perfect for running and just one dog walker to avoid. My thighs are a bit sore though which I've never had before, but hopefully it means some weight is finally shifting off them!

Welcome back Joeybear! Nice run!

Marathon is creeping ever closer, only one and a half week to go now.
Thinking about it more and more; what pace should I start out with, what to wear?
And also the stereotypes are true, you feel every little pain and ache, try to run away from anyone who's looking like they're gonna cough or sneeze, tired all the time, eating a lot more than normal (but luckily not gaining weight).
Still looking forward to it, a lot! :)

Turning down the training intensity a lot now, hoping for that supercompensation magic :) .
Do notice the awesome improvements this marathon training has brought me.

Today did an short intervaltraining in which, as always, I did the first intervals way too fast. Got nackered towards the end, but I finished it.

Also I had to send my hr sensor out to be serviced (again), wasn't working again.
They (Polar customer support) did a stellar job in getting it back to me in a very short amount of time, all under waranty so at no cost.
But decided to not wear the hr sensor every time, and haven't used but once since it got back.
Most say that it's refreshing not checking the hr every few seconds.
Obviously I'll be wearing it during the marathon, planning on starting sensibly, and keeping my hr very low, and go faster *if possible* after the 30 k point.

Forgot to log my run on monday so logging 2 days today. Monday was pretty good, decided I wasn't going running because it was too sunny and I was in a bad mood but happened to look out of the window just as it had gone cloudy so managed to get out and almost complete my whole run before it got sunny again. Then I stroked 2 horses and 2 ponies from the next field :)

Todays run was just a bit odd. was dreading it because it's my first run with no walking breaks so was just a bit worried I wouldn't be able to do it. Luckily I completely forgot about it until I got home so didn't have time to talk myself out of it. The weather had cooled down nicely after apparently being sunny all day (I wouldn't know, working in a windowless office) so that was good but when I got to the field 2 guys were just putting the netting up on the football goals. It put me off because I don't like people being about when I'm exercising and I started running the opposite way to where they were, which is the opposite way around the field to which I always run so felt very strange! More and more people kept turning up for this football practice but luckily I finished my rub before it actually started up, so no risk of being hit by a stray ball!

My pace has got much slower to ensure I actually complete the whole run but I've just looked ahead to the future sessions and they're all exactly the same 3 sessions in each week, 25 minute runs next week, so can hopefully build my speed up a little bit next week.

Guideon, getting to the decrease part of marathon training is a heck of an achievement in itself! I hope you have a great race. You've earned it!

Nice runs JB! Getting through the first non-stop run is a big hurdle. Horses and ponies are a nice bonus.

had my last training today, exactly a week before the big race.

I'm ready for it, just a light 6 k "breakfast run" in Berlin on Saturday and then it's time...
Looking forward to it, but also a bit apprehensive. It seems so unreal to thin I'm gonna run 42,195 km in a week time.
But then again I've training for it for months now, so I'm gonna do it .

I just need to survive sitting still for a week :p

:hurray:GUIDEON! GUIDEON!:hurray:

You know the rest will make the run, so rest up.

I'm very excited for you! Of course you're a bit nervous, but you have prepared well and you will do great.

I ran 2.4 in 30 mins 11 secs (4.77 MPH) and again in 29 mins 50 secs (4.83 MPH)for my last two runs.

I need to do a 149 BPM run next time. Not having knee pain is great, but i'm going to be hurting again if I don't cool my jets.

Had a week off running last week because I had a lot to do and was very tired. Had a long weekend previously and spend 2 of the days on long walks and one day cycling so I did more than enough!

Just been for today's run, lovely and cloudy thankfully, at several points didn't think I was going to make the whole 25 minutes though. Also had a problem with my ankle so I had to stop a couple of time for a few seconds to stretch it a bit. Also somehow managed to skip the cool down walk when I was moving my phone around on my arm, no idea how to do that even if I wanted to, so the total distance and walking distance is lower than it should be. Managed a little bit of a faster run on the last 30 seconds or so too.

So I did it, I ran a marathon :)
Finished it in just under 4h and 6 minutes and I'm and very pleased with it.
The crowd along the way was great, my raceplan proved to be a very good one, so I never hit the wall on the way.

I am however sick as a dog now :(
Probably caught a bit of a flu, and by using all my energy towards running a marathon my immune system could not cope with it.
Don't care about that anyway, I ran a marathon :p

Muscle soreness is going away slowly now, I can even walk (sort of) down a flight of stairs :D

:party:AWESOME!

What a great time too! That's really impressive that you didn't hit the wall. That stinks that you got sick, but I guess that means you really put everything into the race that you had. Get well soon and congratulations on a well earned victory!

This was day 3 in a row which I haven't done since pre knee junk. The inserts/shoes are the ticket. My knees feel good.

Didn't have time to run on Wednesday between work, calling at relatives and going out for the evening so only done 2 runs this week. May try and get one in on Sunday if boyfriend wants to come. Tried to take it a bit easier today as my ankles are still being a bit funny, sped it up for the last lap of the field though (6 laps total)

I finished the 30 minutes. Stomach started to hurt less than halfway through. Not fun. 2,300 calories for the day.

No exercise at all since last week! Need to give myself a kick.
