Weight-Loss Run!

Run

2.5 miles 28:54 recent PR

2.59 mile in 30 mins

So if that's unclear I was racing my 2.5 mile time, but finished the half hour of running.

Really in a 'I don't want to do anything except stay in bed and read a book' phase at the moment so very glad I managed to make myself run today. Still need to talk myself into doing my workout DVD this afternoon though. Pretty sure the app is a bit dodgy now seeing as as I do the same route every day but this run I know I did 1 more lap of the field, yet it says my overall distance was less. Oh well! Might ask for one of those bracelet thingies which monitor exercise and sleep etc. for my birthday/xmas if anyone could recommend a good one.

Now up to 5 min warm up walk, 28 min jog, 5 min cool down walk.

Nice run JB! Unfortunately I don't have any recommendations on fitness bands. My wife and I have two different gps/hr monitors but they both have significant flaws.

Monday run
2.14 miles
30 minutes

So tired after that run! I work out how many laps it will roughly take me to complete the time and usually run the last lap rather than jogging because there's not enough time left for a full lap jogging. Did the same today mut must have been jogging or running faster because I got to the end of the running lap, tired out, and still had a minute left so had to keep going. Never been so out of energy after a run haha!

Way to push JB! We're keeping this thread running. Get it? :(

Run
2.5 miles
31 minutes

Pushed pretty hard tonight.

In nearly at the end of the couch to 5k app now so was considering getting the 5k to 10k one when I finish, but I know I'm not actually doing the full 5k in the given time because I'm jogging most of it instead of running. So I've decided that once I reach the end I'm going to start it again bit instead of doing walk/jog intervals I'll do jog/run intervals to try and get my speed and stamina up.

I've developed a horrible cold this weekend though, which was probably partially why I was so tired after my Friday run, so not sure if tomorrow's run will happen or not.

Hi everyone! :)

Just stopping by! I wish i can run like you all do. Maybe someday. With my current weight, even walking makes me tired easily. Im planning to do stationart bike fist then we'll go from there. Keep up the good works guys! :)

I started with a stationary bike Maganda and then I started walking with slow and short runs. You'll get there. Feel free to post your efforts here. If you want to run then your bike is the start of that journey. Good luck!

This seems to have become the Q show lately. Where are you runners? JB? Guideon? Anyone?

Oh well, I will probably let this thread die if no one else is posting. I hope someone will revive it, but this will be my last post unless we get someone else posting.

Monday Run
2.5 miles
27:44
164 BPM avg HR

I ran hard and told myself that if I beat a half hour 2.5 mile time I could stop then. This is the fastest I've gone post knee junk. This was below my 172 avg of the past so I suppose it is taking me longer to reach a high HR since I was running pretty close to 100% the whole time.

Thread resurrection! My wife and I are going to run at least a mile a day from Thanksgiving until new year's day.

Anyone want to join in?

You still get rest by running the minimum distance slowly on days when you need it. It's recommended that you have been running regularly for at least 6 months.

It's just for fun and to keep the running habit going during the holiday season.

Finally completed my first run in about 4 months!

I never actually finished my C25K, had one session of week 8 left, week 9 being the final week, and the app advised me to start over. I dutifully ignored it and tried w8d3 anyway, without much hope I'd be able to complete the whole run. When I started it did seem much harder than I remembered and I was determined to do 4 laps of the field (it used to be about 8 laps in the time back in the autumn/fall, running faster the last 2 laps). Once I reached 4 I wanted to get to 6, also realised around that point that my new phone didn't have the app set up the same so I had no cues to tell me when I has halfway etc. On my 6th lap I guessed I was near the end from the time so thought I may as well carry on and even managed to run faster on half of lap 7 before the time was up.

Felt much better once I was running today, did take me 2 1/2 hours to get out of bed to go for the run though, too cosy in there!

Way to get back to it JB!

I'm happy to report that I'm still on the daily run streak I started November 27, 2014. So today will be the 79th day of at least 1 mile run a day. I have decided to try to run every day until I am done with my weighloss. That may not be possible, but that is the goal. I have more than 60 pounds to go so we will see.

Oh my word, really didn't manage to carry on running last time and I've just been out again for the first time since. Didn't think I'd make it! Having a lovely sit down now. The next run is the last one on the C25K training program! Will be doing that on Monday.

Last session of C25k!!! Hurrah!

Not sure what to do next, whether to free run, do C210K or go back to the start of C25k and up my speed and stamina by doing jog/run instead of walk/jog.

I'm pretty pants at keeping this running up haha!

First free run today, I got a bit confused with that section in the C25K app and ended up deleting it by mistake so only have my UP info. Went on a new route today on roads and up the canal path, which seems to have earned me a couple of blisters as my feet are used to running on grass so less impact.
