as for the obliques,
It's not completely the fact of working them out that makes the 'lump'.
Like i said genetics come into play, as there are tons of people who work out their obliques and still don't have the lump and others who do.

Also proportions. If you have broad shoulders and a well filled out chest along with some good lat muscles, it will not give the 'pudgey' look (although i think it makes people look more muscular than pudgey). It will make it seem more like the torso gets thinner and thinner the lower you go.

If you want an example, then look at ryan reynolds. I was just watchn amityville horror a week or so ago, and he has what your talking about with the 'lump' at the lower obliques, and he's like 4% bf or something.

'The Devil'... How I envy you! I want abs just like that!

Any chance you could tell me the ab excercises/running/quick review of what you eat?

Thanks, Just standard leg lifts on the captain's chair and few crunches. I felt cardio is most important and running helps a lot more than the elliptical but that could be in my mind.
I think anybody whose BF% goes below 7-8%(with callipers ;))will get visible abs. I read that online too.

Those are both pretty bad shots but better than nothing, I suppose. Front shots will be coming soon. I seriously believe that training for strength definately helps in the adding mass department...plus you can throw around heavy weight which is always cool.

I spent my first six months structuring my workouts like you'd see in Muscle and Fitness and I really didn't get any results. After a bit of guidance I altered my workouts to a strength oriented training.

One is from a few months ago and one was yesterday.. i think i look smaller.. :(

and btw, u should get some pics up! =)

When I can get my fat ass back in the gym to do more working out than I do talking about it, then I'll be here with some pics...

As it is, I'm 199lbs, 5'9" tall, and have to cut about 20lbs of fat before I actually get the guts enough to post my pic... (Arms aren't bad though - but my cardio has suffered in the past 6 mo.)

Soon, my friend. Soon. :)

Hey thought I'd post an update and once again ask for advice. I think that if anything the difference between my left and right arm has grown despite my efforts to achieve symmetry. I am not sure there is really anything that will help. My current stats are slightly over 160 lbs and 5'10'' and I am 20 years old if anyone cares. I've been working out for maybe 6 months.
