Performance -Not Enough!

congratulations man.......if u keep this up theres a serious danger of u getting a body almost as good as mine:yelrotflmao:

So that's what FF means...

Seriously though - you do a grueling race like that and you say you can't do a 300 style workout? I don't get it.

nice! Stingo calling me out!

4 skydives
ran 5 miles in the 2:00 FL heat- very pressing type of heat today.

ab-wheel torture (usin wheel on feet with straight knees is the trick)

handstand balancing, straight leg bend overs and flex into stand X 10, three point blance, press up into stand X 5, and trying to learn to relax and breath in free moving bent leg handstand.

I owe the "burpee" challenge a real effort - HEY TOM when do you want to do the burpee?

I will pull the thread back up.

Not callin' ya out, because I didn't say you couldn't do it - you're the one saying ya can't. What's the burpee challenge? Is it where you do some gawdawfully high number in a day?

theburpee challenge is one that Tony posted. There is a link in his signature. I was going to do them with that BigTom guy, but it seems he is just fulla gas! hahahaha

yesterday: mountain bike during day, played with kids almost all day outside, ran 5 in the night.

Today: Bike/Run 60/30
Bike: 67 min for 22.1 miles
Run: 4 miles in 32:18

Thinking of starting a new journal "FF From 70.3 to 140.6" and keep a tally of swim/bike/run minutes and miles on the opening post, and then mental and nutritional notes for each day.

For anyone that reads my journal, what do you think? New Journal or just keep going with this one?

I find it hard to keep up with multiple journals. Its a lot of work for you too. Just keep this one and transform it into what you want it to be.

Hey FF, I just re-read the entire portion of your journal that had to do with your first half iron training (the BT plan) before the Florida Challenge. I was pleased to note that you were challenged many a time with it starting in the exact same weeks as I started with (around week 12 in the program)! ha. Didn't make me feel like such a slacker when I whine sometimes :)

See journals are good for SOMEthing :) lol ;)

you may also take note about the detailed regimented nutrition plan I had.

It had my motivational verses on it and everything, and I had it laminated (with scotch tape- LOL) and carried it the leg of my tri-suit...

BELIEVE ME- I w2ill be taking note of that. This last one almost killed me without it. I thought I knew what was up, but once I got over 120 minutes and all he challenges of the event, I lost track of myself, and after 6 months of intense endurance training, my overall time was worse by over 18 minutes, and I missed my goal time by 78 minutes.

NUTRITION NUTRITION NUTRIOTN.

I say that for me!!!! TOTALLY!!!

i sent something to you a while ago regarding endurance running but the same holds true to endurance ANYthing.

In the article it mentioned this particular elite athlete who trained and trained for something and then totally flopped due to dehydration. he went from going 5 min miles to 8 something minute miles within a very short period of time.

It highlights how you can train all you want for something and be in the prime of your game and it just goes flat in miliseconds the minute you forget your nutrition and hydration plan and get just a little tiny bit behind. Its very hard to make up for lost time once you've lost it. MOSTLY hydration as most of us could last quite a while just on our fat stores alone.

thank you for the reminder. Its easy to feel like superman in the cush of training where water abounds, earthly elements are controllable, and rest stops are...wherever you feel like resting!

Its a different thing when that rug gets pulled out from under you as the starting gun goes off and you try to remember the lessons along the way, even in the worse of circumstances.

You rock FF

Picnic Series race tonight-
It was fantastic. As we arrived there, my son saw the obstacles and everything and wanted to do the race. I ran it with Todd Joshua, he is 13 and trim.

I ran for about 40 minuts prior to the event, maybe 5 miles, barefooted, on the sand, calves were a bit tight. We were there so early cuz my lady and 16 year old were volunteering.

then the race- take off down the beach, avoid the over anxious peeps falling, and try to maintain a decent pace, without gassing. 5K+ and majorly riddles with terrain and such as challenges.

down the beach, thru the woods, thru knee deep water, up a hill, zig zags, aroiund trees, watch out for the people falling, soft sand, hope you tied your shoes tight, thru the bushes under the cargo net, thru the tires, over the horse jumps, up the stair, out onto the beach, out into the water, around the booyey, and on and on it went.

IT WAS GREAT!

I had so much fun. TJ pushed it so hard he puked at the finish.

Hey FF, that does sound like fun? Are you gonna do the June 25 or July 27 event? I'm planning on doing the June 25 run.

yes, I will be at all three, and TJ will be doin them too. We can be a lil squad! Come join us. Don't even get worried, you can hang. TJ is a fast start immature lil athlete, and he will gas fast, so we can just hang in there and get rest before we even really feel it. YES YOU TOO CAN BEAT A 13 YEAR OLD ASHMATIC TOO! hahahahahaha I just like dominating, even if it is a lil baby girl in an icecream eating contest at the mall.

Only you KILL me on the bike--- you rotten dawg!

See you at that race, hopefully we will hook up.

FF,

Great! I'm glad you're gonna do it! I'm gonna sign up for the June event this weekend and we'll hook up for the event!

bike:
suncoast at 2:00 pm, blazing heat.

43 miles, 2 hr 38 min

tried doing soem very heavy push and pull sets. I would be at 16 mph, and then go to the big ring, drop it all the way to the lowest gear, and then do

10 X R push down, 10 X R pull up....
lift it up to mid ring, and mid gear and spin out, back down to 16 MPH, and then bag to heaviest
10 X L Push down, 10 X L pull up

The bike kills me man... I sweat profusely and it hurts! I FF'in LOVE IT!

Off to do some high altitude trainign for a week in Alberta Canada.

peace/out

Hey FF I just had the honor of running and mountain biking with the second fastest runner in the state of Nebraska.

He is my neighbors nephew, only a couple years older than me. We hit it off pretty good and ended going mountain biking and running. I could hardly keep up with him, and had to cut it short while he resumed his training. But it felt great training with someone!

The dude is a machine. He runs 80+ miles a week. 4:06 mile.
