Still sick here....worked at the barn this morning. Did 30 mins of cardio this afternoon. Eating ok today. I'm sooo hungry, yet not sure what to do...

B: 1 blueberry bagel
L: 1c mac n cheese, 4oz chicken
S: apple

Wendy maybe you should back off on the exercise for a few days to get better. It doesn't seem to be helping the healing process much :( You won't even notice a thing once you get back. Just take care of yourself, eat well and drink a lot....er....of water :D

I'm not feeling as bad as hubby did, but still feeling pretty tired. Therefore, no rest for me. Not to mention as of yesterday, I gained 2 pounds. I have to work that off somehow. :)
 
I agree with Sparrow. The persistence in working out kinda slows down your healing process. How bout take 1 day-off?

btw, thats just being sick. Your body naturally retains water to help heal

I think the question of whether to work out or not can be answered with: it depends.

If all you've got is a cold, then you should be okay. If it's worse..if you have a fever, flu symptoms, or can't keep food down..or prettymuch if you feel like working out is too much of a strain at all, you should rest until you feel ready for heavy exercise. I don't think doing HIIT while you're sick is a good idea..even if it's just a cold. Steady state at a moderate heart rate probably won't hurt. Strength training? I'd say forget about it, definitely..unless all you've got is mild sniffles, which is not what it sounds like. :)

hey I actually went back and LOOKED. I did in fact take FOUR days off while i was sick during the holidays. so neener neener :D
