Thanks Cate! It is really nice we can all sketch together, especially in a place we all love so much!! The really nice thing is that once you sketch a place, you notice so much more about all the colors and the little details that you never noticed before. The whole peninsula is a wildlife and sea creature refuge also, so as we sketched, crows played in the wind currents above our heads, the little spotted baby seals that blended in to the rocky islands all floated off the rocks and into the water as the tide rose, and an otter mom and pup played, and later a white egret was fishing in the beautiful kelp beds. We are amazingly lucky to have a place like that in easy driving distance from our house!
Today we took some of my daughter's friends and their families to a big victorian mansion with 160 rooms. It's called the Winchester Mystery House and was built by the widow of the man who invented Winchester guns, and she was told by a fortune teller that unless she kept building her house, the ghosts of all the people killed with her husband's guns would come haunt her. So we toured the house (which had stairways to nowhere, secret rooms, etc.) for over 3 hours on 2 different tours and then went out for dinner. The girls all had huge cheesecakes, but I ate a nice coconut curry chicken dish and was very happy not having dessert. Was happy I ate a lot today and still stayed under the limit.
On the way home we stopped at our Asian market and I found lots of organic caffeinated teas that I am going to try and see if it is the non-organic-ness of tea or the caffeine that gives me a sore throat and crashes my immune system if I have too much. I am hoping I can have organic tea because it really helps curb my appetite, and I love it a lot. Also got a lot of organic oyster mushrooms - yum!
