LiveFromNY's Exercise Log

I thought of you yesterday when I was at the local Best Buy, browsing the DVDs and came across the exercise section. I recognized some of the titles you mention in your diary.

just you tell me some good workout dvds because i want to get one but theres so many to choose from??? :)

your dr strange o.0... so he doesn't like people put on muscle? lol I think you should get your BF% taken that way you can know for sure if the added weight is muscle or fat.

BTW... NYC IS FREAKIN COLD, GIRL!!! >.<

lol, you guys. Thanks Stingo.

Friday the 19th
40 minutes on the bike....tht "good amount of cake" I ate yesterday (Thursday early) turned out to be LUNCH. And yes, I still feel queasy from it . . . (Friday afternoon)

Surf Chick, tell me what you want in a DVD - cardio, toning, what?

Saturday night went to TWO parties. . . and ate at BOTH! Sunday, I only had coffee and then ran around all day and didn't eat again until dinner. Hopefully it evened out.

Sunday the 21st
Kathy Smith's hour long Lift Weights to Lose Weight #2.

Monday the 22nd
40 minutes on the bike

Tuesday Jan 23rd

Karen Voight's 40 minute Core Essentials Pilates - no ab section.
I was so lazy - didn't do all the reps . . . sometimes you're just tired, ya know?

Went to a wedding last night and am going to another again tonite . . . I ate more than usual but danced, also . . .

Wed the 24th
40 minutes on the bike.

The goodies at the wedding last night were very very small...small cookies and such. So, even though I sampled a few things, I am not kicking myself too much . . .

Thursday January 25th

I think I pinched a nerve in my arm when we moved in the summer, and it's dull aching ever since . . then on Sunday I moved a heavy, big box way up on a ladder, and I've had shooting pain ever since.

I'm falling apart here - can only do abs twice a week and now I probably should avoid upper body for a while!

So it was - Kari Anderson's 20 minute Curl.

I had two late nights, Stingo, on Monday and Tuesday, and was tired and cranky on Wed. I guess everyting that ached, was worsened by my lack of sleep! I actually felt fine on Thursday.

Friday, Jan 26th
40 minutes on the bike

Sunday Jan 28th

Woke up, stretched a little…and felt the most intense pain in my neck and upper back! Spent he rest of the day with a hot water bottle, and boy is the back of my neck red!

Monday, Jan 29th

40 minutes on the bike, with a pillow behind my neck

Tues Jan 30th

Did Karen Voight's Great Weighted Workout, but only the 2nd and 3rd parts - skipped the warmup and upper body work due to pinched nerve and sore neck.

Haven't done that video since early summer; it was hard!!!!!

Thursday, February 1st

Karen Voight's 50 minute Ab and Back Pilates. Had to carry some heavy bags today, neck is okay but left arm still radiates . . .

Friday the 2nd
40 minutes on the bike. Neck hurts less, arm about the same. Right wrist aches, maybe it shouldn’t be a "computer" weekend . . .

Sunday the 4th
Kar Anderson's 20 minute Curl - back and ab workout. Cuz neck and left arm still bother me a little . . .

When to a Chinese Auction on Sunday night with DD and could you believe I won neither the Urban Rebounder NOR the Modell's gift certificate? I just assume no one else would want these things . . . . Ebay, here I come . . .

Monday the 5th
40 minutes on the bike.

Tuesday Feb 6th

Karen Voight's Great Weighted Workout - just the lower body part. I feel pretty good today, nothing hurts at all (maybe it's frozen, lol - it's crazy cold in NYC!)

You got that right!!! I'm at work with the heat on and the heater on my feet!!!

I want an Urban Rebounder. Everyone knows that.

I was certain I’d win one at a Chinese Auction Sunday night, and was sorely disappointed.

So I looked on ebay. Shipping for it from some of these sellers are like forty bucks.

So I looked on Craigs list. Not only is it not cheaper, some ppl live in God awful location and I’m supposed to travel to the ends of the earth to save $20 or so? I don’t drive. A ten dollar Long Island Railroad trip – each way – is not going to save me anything.

I looked at Modell’s near my office. (I didn’t win the gift certificate from them either on Sunday night, but let’s not go there.) The box was heavy, but I figured I’d unpack it as the cashier, and just take home my trampoline and video.

Well.

You know why the box was heavy? Because the trampoline itself weights like 35 lbs!

So – they had to credit my Discover card and repack the box.

And I finally feel okay today – no pinched nerve feeling in my left arm, no neck or back pain, and no wrist pain on my right wrist !!!!! I wanted to risk it – I’d love just to have it already - but it was a huge health risk on my part.

So – I went online to Modell’s. The shipping was only ten bucks. Cheaper than a tax, cheaper than hurting myself – and a neighbor said she’d be on the lookout for my box.

So, stay tuned . . . or, maybe you’ll hear a sad song from my downstairs neighbor, lol, from my jumping . . .
