Jaclyn's diary

 Dizzy? No wonder you are dizzy! I'd be dizzy, too, if my scale added 30 pounds! I think you are in the market to buy a new scale!

Tell me about it. I really need to buy a new scale!

Well, I'm feeling a lot better. I'm going to go to work today. My appetite is still pretty weak. For breakfast I had half a bowl of oatmeal and a glass of orange juice. My throat still hurts and is really raw from all of the coughing, so I'm having a glass of gatorade to soothe it. I know I have to stop with the gatorade to cut calories, and I'm definitely not buying anymore, but water just tastes weird when you're sick and it doesn't soothe the throat. Anyway, I don't think my bout of sickness hurt my diet. The other day I was watching some daytime talk show and they had some women on who lost half of their body weight with just diet and exercise. One of them looked amazing, she went from a size 22 to a size 6 and she was beautiful. It was a very interesting show.

Thanks guys. I'm still coughing a lot and blowing my nose, but I feel way better than I did. Had lunch a little while ago...

Lunch:
Lean Cuisine Marhgerita pizza
Cup of baby carrots
Cup of fat free pudding

Blah, I still have four hours at work though, and I don't get to eat dinner, which is bad. I have some snacks for when I get hungry. The really good news is that I no longer feel like this is a diet. Now it just feels like a lifestyle. I rarely crave bad foods, and when I do crave chocolate it can be satisfied with a fat free pudding or a sugar free fudgsicle. I don't feel urges to eat while watching tv. And best of all, I'm getting full much faster, with smaller amounts of food. I had to cancel my ankle doctor appointment because of my sickness, but I'll make another one tomorrow so I can get that taken care of and I can start doing some real exercise!

I had a string cheese and a cup of strawberries for snacks. I'm still drinking gatorade. I've been having really bad coughing fits to where I almost throw up. Gatorade is soothing it.

Thanks Jennifer. I'm definitely doing my best. I had a sugar free creamsicle while I watched That 70s Show. Now I have to read 100 pages of this book for a quiz tomorrow. It's super boring and I took a night time cough medicine, which is going to make me loopy any minute now, so I'm off!

Oh man, busy day.

Breakfast:
Small glass of orange juice and a couple of bites of cantulope. I wasn't very hungry.

Lunch:
Baked potato from Wendys
About five bites of salad with fat free honey mustard (I didn't like the dressing, so I didn't eat much of the salad)
Light Lemonade

Dinner:
Big salad with oil and vinegar.

I definitely didn't eat enough today, but I was in class all day and my appetite was very small. I'm planning on having some fruit later.

Lunch:
Salad with spring mix, spinach, carrots, cherry tomatoes, cucumber and Sweet Vidalia Onion dressing
1 Fat free Caramel Vanilla pudding

Mid afternoon snack:
1 apple
1 string cheese

Dinner:
1 Veggie Riblet
1 Baked potato with I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Spray and 2 tablespoons of sour cream

Hey Totallyscrappy, my college has a pretty big campus and I do walk to my classes which are all in different buildings, but unfortunately that's about all of the exercise I get right now because of my ankle. I have a bone tumor in my right ankle and I'm supposed to stay off of it as much as possible until the doctor can determine how he wants to go about fixing it. I have an appointment with him February 3rd and hopefully we'll talk about surgery, because I really want to exercise! I'm doing really good on my diet, but I'll never lose weight if I can't exercise, so I'm getting frustrated!

Anyway, breakfast:
Egg Beaters
1 cup of purple grapes
2 sips of orange juice

Lunch:
1 slice cheese pizza with grease blotted off
1 apple

Okay, so I've been thinking about pizza since yesterday and that's what everyone at work was getting today, so I decided one slice would make an okay lunch. I looked it up with the Calorie Calculator (on bored.com) and it said one slice would be about 140 calories, but the slice I had was pretty big, so I'm going to assume it was about 200 calories. And I got a bread, a dairy, and a vegetable (the sauce.) I don't know, should I be disappointed in myself? I don't think so, I think I've been doing really good and a treat once in awhile is okay. And I knew if I didn't have it and I kept thinking about it I might end up bingeing.

We all have this notion that pizza is bad for you. Maybe it is because it is just so yummy that it couldn't possibly be good for you. I think you are correct; pizza is not a bad choice. Depending on what you put on top of your pizza, you are covering three to four food groups. I think the trap is serving size. Pizza is so fun and tasty that I think some people just gorge themselves and then regret it, swearing off pizza.
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
And good luck with the doctor's appointment. Keep us posted.

Snack:
1 sugar free fudgesicle.

Yeah Totallyscrappy, I feel fine about the pizza. It was one peice. Back in my non-diet days I would have 3 or 4 slices with garlic bread and several glasses of regular soda. This time it was one slice, an apple, and a glass of water. I'm doing pretty good.
