Jaclyn's diary

Man, I keep getting hungry at night...

For my night time snack I had a small cup of sliced strawberries and one fingerful of peanutbutter.

I think I'm doing pretty good.

Day 5!

Breakfast:
Scrambled Egg Beaters (about 2 eggs worth)
2 Slices of Veggie Bacon
Bowl of sliced strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries.
Small glass of Orange Juice.

Lunch:
1 Morningstar Vegetable burger, no bun, a teaspoon of ketchup and mustard mixed together for zest.
A salad with spring mix, spinach, cherry tomatoes, pea pods, carrots and cucumber, fork dipped in Sweet Vidalia Onion dressing

Mid Afternoon snack:
Banana

Dinner:
1 Gardenburger brand Veggie Riblet (only 5 grams of fat, 17 grams of protein and 160 calories!)
1 small sweet potato with some I Can't Believe It's Not Butter spray (no cals, carbs, or fat!-in the butter that is)
A saute of asparagus, tomato, and button mushrooms, flavored with lite soy sauce and a little lemon juice, cooked in a tablespoon of olive oil and sprinkled with parmesan cheese.

Yum!

And now I have friends coming over to play a game so I can keep my hands busy.

I'm 2/3rds of the way done with my gallon for the day...might have some green tea with my night-time snack later.

Lunch:
I had a bit of salad fork dipped in some honey mustard, but I wasn't very hungry, so I didn't finish it.

Dinner:
1/2 cup black beans, mixed with 1/4 cup of shredded cheese and sour cream and 1/2 cup tomatoes and chopped raw spinach.
1 orange.

Took a walk after dinner. I don't think I ate enough today because I got really sleepy and dizzy while I was at work. I had 1/4 cup of dried apple rings and a string cheese when I got home. It was kind of late to eat, but I was really dizzy.

Day 7

Breakfast:
1/2 cup Egg Beaters, scrambled
2 Slices Morningstar Veggie Bacon
Small bowl of sliced strawberries and blueberries
Small glass of Orange Juice

You really didn't eat much on day 6 did you? Lunch was the culprit. Breakfast like a King, Lunch like a prince, Dinner like a pauper. Maybe a bean salad and a peice of fruit would have done you better. All in all you're doing good, keep it up but don't go hungry.

Yeah, you're right jennylee, I have to make sure I'm eating enough. Once I get back onto my school and work schedule and I'm waking up early everyday it will be easier.

Lunch: Went to Bennigans
Had a Minute Maid Light Lemonade *looked it up, only 5 calories per glass...pretty nice.
Dinner salad which had lettuce, red onion and cucumber, and four crutons with fork dips of honey dijon.
Baked potato with a tablespoon of butter and sour cream.

I feel like I ate too much, but I'll go light on dinner to even it out.

I'm starting to feel discouraged.

For dinner:
1 Spicy Black Bean Burger with tablespoon of ketchup, no bun.
1/4 sweet & sour tofu and veggies my roommate brought home from a Thai restaraunt.
About 10 baby carrots dipped in artichoke garlic hummus.

Today was not a good day.

Hey hon,...I cant s see anything tragically wrong with the day food wise,...and if you did,..one lil blimp will not matter,..look at your week you have done awesome...you deserve three cheers...

way to go!!!!
do your goove thing!!!
your awesome!!!!!!
yeeeeeeaaaaaah Fuunkymonk!!!

Haha, thanks Jennifer. It's not even that I saw anything wrong with what I ate all day, I'm just getting bored and very hungry. Thanks for the cheers though!

I split apple slices spread with peanut butter with my roommate, and then I had a fat free chocolate pudding for dessert. I was hurting for chocolate...

I feel like I'm really losing my motivation. I got bloodwork done today and I'm going to call my ankle doctor on Monday, and hopefully he can give me a solution for exercising. I feel like if I was spending lots of time at the gym I could be a little bit more free with what I'm eating. I don't think I will last on diet alone because results are too slow-coming and I easily get depressed when I diet. Ugh....

are you drinking enough water...our body sometimes says it hungry when it actually needs more water.

Can you swim with your ankle or do water areobics?

I haven't been drinking my gallon a day because it takes forever to fill up a gallon with a filter and it was getting expensive to buy a new gallon everyday, but whenever I feel hungry I've been making sure I drink a glass or two of water before I eat anything.

I can swim and now the weather is starting to permit it, but once school starts on Monday I won't have a minute in the day to go to the pool until after dark, and we can't use the pool in my complex after 6 PM because there's no one in the office.

Oops, almost forgot to post breakfast!

Breakfast:
Bowl of Instant Oatmeal (apples and cinammon, 130 cals)
Small cup of Orange Juice.

I'm thinking I'm going to check out what group exercise classes they have at my college's gym and just try them all to see what I like and what I can do. I've been to the yoga one before and I liked it a lot (unfortunately that ALWAYS have that one at a time when I'm in class or at work.)

Lunch:
Salad with spinach, spring mix, tomatoes, carrots, and cucumber, with a chopped up Parmesan Ranch Chik patty and fork dips of honey mustard.
Sugar free Jello

I just checked into the group exercise classes at my school. They're offering a yoga class before my actual school classes on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, so I'm going to have to try to get myself up for those. They also have a cardio kickboxing class which looks interesting, although I'll probably have to wait to see what the doctor says about my ankle before I start that one.

Oy.

Well, since I've been in a rut the past two days I decided to give myself a break and I went to my favorite Mexican place to eat. Now, I actually did pretty good because I usually have 1. Several glasses of Dr. Pepper, 2. A Bean Burrito, A Cheese Enchilada, Rice, and Vegetables, and 3. Two baskets of chips with bean and queso dip, but this time I had

1/2 Bean Burrito
A whole plate of vegetables (broccoli and cauliflower with queso)
About 15 chips with the bean and queso dip
2 glasses of water.

So I got my treat, but I tried to keep it to a minimum and I ate more broccoli and cauliflower than anything else on my plate. And it was actually about 6 large peices of broccoli and probably 4 peices of cauliflower and I had leftover, which I'll give to my roommate's boyfriend, along with the other half of my burrito. And now that I let myself relax a bit I feel more motivated again. I took a 40 minute walk right after dinner (and my ankle feels like it's about to burst) and I'm going to clean my car out which should make for some good stretching and sweating. I hope I didn't blow it. A girl I work with is giving herself an entire free day each week where she eats whatever she wants all day long, including soda and snacks, but I don't think that's a good idea. One meal or dessert a week is what I want to limit myself to, so that I don't get depressed and throw in the towel like I almost did yesterday, but that won't hinder my entire plan. Man, she came to work today with two chocolate doughnuts and then got a soda and she got McDonalds burger and fries for lunch and she was planning to go out to dinner with our boss. I think that's way too much leeway. I'm planning on going to the yoga class at school tomorrow. I know I'll feel better about my little Mexican fiesta if I go.

I was foiled again!

I tried to go to the yoga class at school today, but they don't start until next week. And then I couldn't even do anything else at the gym, like weights or the treadmill, because I was wearing flip flops!

Breakfast:
2 pieces of whole wheat toast with apricot preserves

Snack:
Cup of Blackberries
Diet Rite

This new Diet Rite is made with Splenda. No calories, carbs, sugar, caffeine, or sodium. It's awesome.
