Jaclyn's diary

I've been feeling really tired and kind of down lately. I don't know why.

Snack:
Apple slices with peanut butter

Lunch:
2 small slices of pizza with the grease blotted off and no crusts.

Okay, so here's what happened. My boss ordered pizzas for everyone before I got there and she ordered an entire cheese just for me because I don't eat meat. So I decided I'd eat the small slices, after deciding yesterday that pizza in small portions is okay-but this wasn't good pizza like the slice I had yesterday. It was crappy Pizza Hut pizza, not good new york style pizza, so I'm sorry I ate it. In the future I will be more choosy about what kinds of pizza I eat.

Dinner:
Spicy Black Bean Burger, no bun, with a teaspoon of ketchup
1/2 cucumber and a small tomato, sliced, drizzled with olive oil and red wine vinagerette and sprinkled with garlic salt

Hi funkymonk, sorry to see that u are feeling so down. How about u go out and spoil your self and buy yourself a book you would really like to read or maybe a foot massage would make your ankle feel better. You have been doing really well and should be proud of your self .I have also been feeling really tired of late but at the same time have more energy????? Weird I no. I hope you feel better tomorrow.

Thanks Rosered! That's a good idea, I should do something small to make myself feel better. I think I'm still recovering from my sickness. I hope you feel better too!

Mid morning snack:
1 cup of blackberries

Lunch:
Went to Bennigans and had a Boca burger on wheat with mushrooms, melted swiss cheese, lettuce and tomato, and a bit of ketchup. I said hold the mayo (I don't like mayo anyway) but I think they put some on there.
Baked potato instead of fries with a dollop of sour cream and a dollop of butter. I only ate about five small bites of the potato.
Light Lemonade (5 calories per glass! How awesome is that?)

I was really really full afterwards. I went back to work and worked until 6 and I just ate dinner a little while ago. I had:

Dinner:
Bowl of lentil soup (it's chilly out! And I'm in Florida, so I can't imagine how cold it is for the rest of you!)
4 bites of Mediterranian salad, which is just chopped cucumbers and tomatoes marinated in lime juice with salt and pepper, so very low cal and fat free.

Pretty good day of eating, but I'd be lying if I said I haven't been a bit discouraged. I haven't lost any weight at all and even though I haven't been exercising I feel like with the drastic changes I've made (no soda, no sweets, no fried food) that I should have at least dropped a few pounds. I'm going to keep on going though. My ankle doctor appointment is on February 3rd, so hopefully he can help me figure out what to do about the pain.

Keep up the good work. You should be so proud of yourself. You are bustin' your butt to control your eating. You are making good choices and changing habits for the better. And you've don'e all this without adding exercise to the mix- and that's tough. I've got my fingers crossed that the doc will give you some encouraging news. :)

Yep its tough not seeking the scale budge...but we also do this for our health not a dress size....and you are being soooooo healthy...when i dont lose I say if I hadnt of been doing this I may have gained 3 lbs.... stay positive you will get there.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it. I'm not going to give up. It's just frustrating!!!

Breakfast:
1 Soy Smoothie made with 1 cup Vanilla soy milk, 3/4 cup of frozen fruit (strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries) and 1 can of peach nectar.

It came out really thick, like sorbet. And it's cold outside, so I don't know what I was thinking. But it's good.

Thanks 2cute, you can do it too!

Lunch:
1 slice cheese pizza, grease blotted off (and it was smallish. I don't have a lot of time in between classes to drive home, make lunch, eat and drive back, so my best friend and I meet up and have to go somewhere around the school. Today was pizza.)
1 house salad with fork dips of Italian dressing. The salad had iceberg, 1 tomato slice, carrot shavings and come cucumber slices.
Diet Coke with a lemon wedge

Dinner:
2 vegetarian tacos which consisted of mexican seasoned veggie ground beef (1/3 cup=60 calories,) 2 taco shells (160 cals,) a dollop of reduced fat sour cream on each taco, a sprinkle of cheese on each, and chopped tomatoes on each.

Yum.

The tacos are great. Try Morningstar brand veggie crumbles or Good Deli brand if you can find either. I season them with the Old El Paso seasoning stuff that you mix with water. It comes in the taco kit. It's great, I highly recommend it!

Okay, so I was training a new girl at work today which meant I didn't get time to eat any healthy snacks, which sucked, because I got super hungry, but I controlled myself-

Lunch:
Healthy Choice Meal-Stuffed Shells with sauce and a side of broccoli (and it wasn't bad!)
1 Peach
1 Diet Cherry 7up

Dinner:--Ravenous!
1 Morningstar Tomato Basil Pizza Burger (130 cals!)
1/4 cup cooked spinach with a spray of I Can't Believe it's Not Butter and a squeeze of lemon juice (it was about 2 cups uncooked spinach, but man that stuff shrinks!)
Salad with spring mix, romaine, and argula, carrots, and baby tomatoes, with a teaspoon of olive oil and a few splashes of red wine vinegar, a salt and pepper to taste.

I just watched Pirates of the Caribbean. It was fun! I love pirates.

Didn't you love that movie?! I watched it this past weekend. I've decided that pirates are my new "fantasy men." Good-bye, cabana boys. Hello, pirates! ;)

Haha, yeah pirates are great, especially when Johnny Depp is involved.

Dessert:
Smart Ones ice cream sundae cone. Yum.

Lunch:
1 whole wheat english muffin topped with tomato slices and low fat mozzerella cheese, toasted.
1/4 cup blueberries
