Jaclyn's diary

Oy, I know you're right Angela. It just sucks. But I can't beat myself up over it. I won't. Thanks for your support.

I did have dinner, because I know I have to. And I calculated all of my calories for the day on the Nutrition Calculator and it's still under 1,200, so I didn't do as bad as I thought. In fact I even have room for a WW ice cream if I decide I want one.

Dinner:
Gardenburger Sundried Tomato Wrap (it was good and only 220 cals)
Fruit salad which had a nectarine, 5 strawberries, and 1/4 cup blueberries. Yum.

I'm sticking with it. I think I might make an appointment with the nutritionist on campus to make sure I'm doing everything right.

Dessert:
Smart Ones Giant Cookie Bar

Breakfast:
Slim-Fast Chocolate Royale

Sorry that you have that lil mental set back with the scales

I know all too well about the amount being overwhelming,..and you think Oh what the heck,,,why bother. But really it is just a mental thing. Break it down four 25 lbs goals...its soooo much easier to take in....saying I have 25 lbs to lose doesnt seem quite so bad. Once you have lost those 25lbs you look back and go "I didnt suffer all that much,..and I feel better and look better"...and you keep going.

I also look at it this way. I have to eat right and excersize for the rest of my life if I dont want to gain the weight back. So whether I reach my goal in June or December what is the difference,....I am still going to be doing the same thing with my diet and excersize.

You have had some hurdles lately (with your ankle),...and you are busy with school and everything on top of it. Take a deep breath and exhale three times....and then just say I am worth, I can do it and nothing is going to stop me. Pat yourself on the back, you care about your health and you are doing all the right things...YOUR AWESOME.
The nutritionist is an great idea!!!

Funnkymonk,
You are doing so well! Keep your eyes focused on the goal, a healthier you. I'm impressed by how well you do with all "you have on your plate."
Thanks for being inspiring!

Thanks Jennifer and Totallyscrappy. I know you guys are totally right and I already feel better between the comments you guys left and the one Angela left. You guys are all so great. And you're right Jennifer, it doesn't make a difference how long it takes because this is my new life, not a temporary thing. And to be honest with you I feel so much better about myself knowing that I eat healthy and exercise, even if I'm not thinner, it's still benefiting my body. When I see people eating like crap now I kind of scoff at them in my head. And my stomach has felt a lot better since I've started my new healthy lifestyle. And besides, if I gave up, which I don't want to do, I wouldn't have you guys anymore!

Anyway, Lunch:
Gardenburger Tomato Basil Wrap (220)
Cup of fruit, blueberries, strawberries, and nectarine.
Diet Cherry 7Up

I'm stuck at work until 9, so I won't get to eat dinner until late. I should have brought a Lean Cuisine or something to eat at my desk, but I need to go grocery shopping for more of them. I'm all alone this weekend, my roommate and her boyfriend went down to Ft Lauderdale where we're all from to visit her parents. I wish I could go see my mom, but I work Saturday morning and if I went I wouldn't get there until Saturday night and I would have to come back on Sunday, so I wouldn't even be there for 24 hours-basically it's a waste of gas and money. I need to take a weekend off and head down there soon though.

Breakfast:
Slim Fast Chocolate Royale

Might be my lunch too if the girls at work order from somewhere I can't eat. I need to go shopping, so I have nothing to bring.

Lunch:
Slim Fast Chocolate Royale
Orange

I've been doing some reading on iVillage.com about Slim Fast. Apparently it's supposed to be a really good plan, but I don't feel comfortable having all of their processed meal replacements all day everyday. One shake a day is fine, but I would rather have a piece of fruit and some yogurt than some crappy little meal replacement bar. And my teeth always feel coated with sugar after I drink one of the shakes. They are helpful for when I sleep too late and have to have breakfast on the go though. I want to use them sparingly.

I'm planning on dropping my car off for an oil change after work and then walking to the gym to work out while I wait.

Thanks Rosered!

Wow, what a busy day! I worked from 8:30 until 2:30 and then I had the oil in my car changed, then I went to the gym (35 minutes on the gazelle, stretches and crunches) and then I picked up some food for the week at the grocery store, and then I cleaned out my fridge and vaccumned, and took a shower, and I finally just had dinner!

Dinner:
Gardenburger Chipolte Wrap (not good like the other kind, but okay)
4 big broccoli spears with garlic salt and no calorie butter spray
Fruit salad with nectarine, kiwifruit, blueberries, strawberries, and carambola.

Now I just want to relax.

Thanks!

Dessert Last Night:
Smart Ones Chocolate Ice Cream Cone

Breakfast this Morning:
Egg Beaters
2 Slices Veggie Bacon
Small glass of Orange Juice (I bought the low sugar low cal kind and it's pretty good-just tastes like oranges, although I miss the pulp.)

So I woke up to go to yoga this morning and I went online to sign up for the class and there was a notice that all group exercise classes were cancelled today because they're doing some sort of orientation in the gym. So I'm going to go to the store and then just go to the gym and work out regularly, but I had planned to do the yoga class then my regular cardio, but oh well. After I work out on the gazelle I'll do some good stretches.

I'm bidding on a super cute purse on ebay and I hope I win it.

Okay, I went to the gym, and I did 10 minutes on the treadmill and then 20 on the gazelle. When I first got there all of the gazelles were taken, but luckily one opened up. Then I did some stretching and 50 crunches, and then I did reps with 10 pound weights. One of my favorite Red Hot Chili Peppers songs was playing while I had the weights, so I lifted for the entirety of the song, which is about 4 minutes. Then I did some reps on the rowing machine thing. Now that I'm getting back into the routine of exercising I'm enjoying it. Now I have to decide what to eat for lunch.

Lunch:
Slim fast Milk Chocolate Shake made with one slimfast meal drink, one banana, and ice in the blender!

Listening to RHCP while I clean and then I need to take a shower and do some homework!

Snack:
Mango

Dessert:
WW Giant Cookie Ice Cream

So my scale says I've lost 10 pounds, but I'm skeptical. I don't feel like I've lost anything at all. I'll have to go to Publix to get an accurate reading.

The slim fast is good for me when I feel like I am slimming it a bit and want to pull everything back into control. I agree not into the bars either, rather have some soup and a fruit like you said.

Glad to see you back with your game on!!!!

Hi funky I don’t know why you would be surprised at your weight loss, you exercise and stick to your diet pretty well. Im going to be game and say congratulations. Im excited for you :D \o/ \o/
