G8r80 and GT2003: onward!

Maybe, but I'm sure I'll sacrifice a little more muscle on the way there. I'm more focused on getting the fat gone now. Once I'm as lean as I want, then I'll start putting back on a little more muscle here and there. It's all a process. But....I thought you had a little more fight in you than that old man, hehehe.

That's probably a good thing. I'm a little gung-ho right now so I'm taking full advantage of it. Once I reach my weight goal I'll calm down and be a little more even keel. Then maybe I can explore the sprint triathlons to see what I might be getting myself into. Oh, wait, I've got a 1/2 marathon to run between now and then.:jump1::jump1:

Today: 45 minutes on stationary bike - pure pain! Couldn't get anything going. Struggled to maintain 136 hr (about 80% of predicted mhr for me) which I can usually maintain for hours. Afterwards, in pool, triceps ached, presumably from yesterday's bench press and I got winded early, so called it a day after 750 yards.

I am going to take the rest of today and tomorrow completely off - nada, zilch, nothing, zero!

Completely? I don't see you sitting still without some form of exercise for that long. Good luck!

Off to run. Will report time here in a bit.

It's supposed to be 70 degrees tomorrow. Since I wasn't very happy with my 5K race time from a month ago, I plan on running the same route tomorrow and seeing how well I do. I really think I can break 30 minutes, even with the big hill.

BIG HILL CONQUERED! It sure didn't feel a lot better than the 1st time but I had a pedometer that luckily had a clock on it to help me keep pace. I left my running watch at home but made do with what I had. The best I can tell, I ran it in 29minutes and 22-24 seconds or so. That's approximately 2 minutes and 5 seconds better than the 1st attempt back on December 20th. I stood at the starting line waiting for the minute to change on the pedometer then took off. At the end, I counted the seconds until it changed to the next minute to get my time. It's tough to see the : flash on a clock right after running as hard as I was at the end there. But, mission accomplished. I don't see any reason I can't break 29 minutes easy on an easier course, possible even 28:30 or even 28 flat.

Took yesterday off. Today, worked on bike time trials with the Klein. 7 mile loop. Averaged 19.9 on first effort and 21 on the second effort. Total: 14 miles in just over 41 minutes.

I'm in Sacramento this week. 1 hour on stationary bike. Stayed on the aero bars in aero position. Tough on butt and neck, but getting a (little) easier.

That's quite a bike ride G8R. I've been couped up in the house for 2 1/2 days due to the ice storm. I'm getting out to go to work today and plan on running a bit afterwards. I'm about to go stir crazy!!!

Bummer with the ice storm, gt. I've been cooped up too - it's way too cold here in Sacramento to go outside in the morning or evening (when I'm free) - mid 30s in the morning and evening.

Today: 4.6 miles in 41:00 (9 min/mile) outside! and 20 minutes on stationary bike at 180 watts. Legs feel trashed right now.

I just learned of a sprint and olympic length triathlons on February 8 and March 11. I'm thinking of doing the oly length on one of those dates.

Flew through the night on a red-eye flight from Sacramento - dog tired today. Struggled to do 1200 yards in pool.
