G8r80 and GT2003: onward!

21 miles on the Klein at 19.4 mph. Stayed almost the entire time on the aero bars. What doesn't kill your neck, makes it stronger. Later added 5.6 miles at 9:45 pace to make this a brick (4 hour T2). Legs were tirrrrrreeeeeedddd

I am gonna race a 8-mile time trial on Saturday in Gainesville, FL. This will be a first for me.

I'm excited and scared!

You'll do fine. U'r a machine.

I'm off to the gym after work tomorrow. The wife (for now) and I are going to sit the kids down this week and let them know what's going on. Bet i have a helluva week in the gym, hehehe.

FINALLY! I got back in the gym tonight. No weights, ran 3.2 miles on treadmill at slow but comfortable pace (11 min mile, 5.5 mph).

I've gotten back on fitday too. I'm trading off good weeks and bad weeks. Now it's time to get my head back into the game and take it to the next level.

Divorce should be finalized on February 19th. We've got papers already drawn up, our court date is on the 19th. All's well that ends well. Now, if mortgage rates would drop to about 3.5-4% I'd be happy. That's the word on the street so we'll see what happens!

Nice to see you back in the saddle, GT. I hope the ice storms and impending divorce are in your rearview mirror and you can get on with your life.

Yesterday: nothing

Today: 20 minutes and 10x2 minutes of hard intervals on stationary bike - max hr: 151 (88% of predicted mhr), 45 minutes at moderate pace: max hr: 135.

Exercised neck muscles.

15x2 pushups - felt weak
1 mile run, just under 9 minutes
Farted around on a hotel cable machine - nothing organized.

Weights:

15-20 minutes of free weights; 5 sets bench press, 3 tricep pushdowns and 2 dumbbell tricep extensions.

CARDIO.....BRICK!

12 miles on stationary bike in 38 minutes (next goal 36 minutes)
3.2 mile run in 32 minutes
I felt good overall. Much better than expected.

Ate clean again today. Feeling better, whew!

Good day with the weights today, back and biceps:

3 sets rows, 2 sets wide grip lat pulldowns, 3 sets close grip lat pulldowns

3 sets barbell curls straight bar, 3 sets dumbbell rotating curls

Cardio:

After yesterdays first ever brick for me at a sprint tri distance I decided to take it easy. I walked for 25 minutes at a 4mph pace.

Diet: CLEAN

Divorce: Sat the kids down and told them what was going on. They weren't really surprised, overly upset or anything. The youngest was more concerned that his "gamer profile" wouldn't be transportable from one place to the other. Once this was solved he was good with everything. Lifes much easier now that they know. Things continue to look up. Talk to you all tomorrow. Take it easy, Greg

Glad to hear the kids took the impending divorce okay - I suspect they knew something was up.

Went to YMCA in Austin:

1.2 mile +/- (I lose track of the laps) swim in 52:00

Intervals on stationary bike: 2 minutes hard - heart rate up to 140+, 2 minutes off. Repeated 3 times.

Yeah, I had been dropping hints, reassuring them all would be OK no matter what etc. I wasn't too worried about the older two but the youngest was OK with it once he realized he would be able to transfer his xbox 360 profile from one house to the other. I spent some time talking to him about my plans and he thought it all sounded "pretty cool".

Tonight, ran 4.25 miles in 42:20 then cooled down for 7:40 at 4mph for a total time of 50 minutes and 4.8 miles.

Ate well. Came in at 1900 calories. I'm good with that. Talk to you all later, Greg

Today: Stationary bike: 2 minute intervals at hard level followed by 2 minute easy pedaling, repeated 4 times for a total of 15:00 followed by 15:00 at moderate pace.

My max heart rates during the 4 intervals were 140, 145, 147 and 150. Afterwards, hitting 140 seemed moderately easy and seemed like I could maintain that for a long time. Usually, I am working hard at 140 and have trouble maintaining it.

Tomorrow, I am going to do an easy warm-up followed by a hard session that gets my heart rate to 150+ before the rest of my workout. I am going to do this for my time trial on Saturday.

Weighed in at 197 lbs even this morning. Need to drop 7 more by March 1st to meet my goal. Shouldn't be a problem. Nutrition continues to go well. Staying just below 2000 calories per day and steadily getting there.

Cardio this morning: 45 minutes on the stationary bike, 150-200 watts, heart rate 145-177. Good workout! Off to shower then off to some friends house for the day. Take care all, Greg

195.5# this morning. Goal is to get down to 180 by April 5, date of 70.3 triathlon.

Did 9.7 mile bike time trial yesterday in about 28 minutes. Averaged a little over 20mph. Did 25 mile bike today at 19.5 mph.

Greg, I already log my workouts on two other journals, so I am gonna stop logging stuff here. But, I will continue to check up on you, so I want you to continue logging your progress, which has been splendid.

No problem. Consider this thread closed. I'll start up another one to take me to my goal.

Where else do you log your workouts?

P.S. - 196 lbs after work today!

195.5 lbs this morning. Not in the mood to create another thread so I'll keep posting progress in this one. I've been really steady but not being too serious the last few weeks. These last few pounds will come off slowly but surely. I'll have the opportunity to exercise quite a bit next week so I expect I'll be closer to my goal next time I post. Still switching weeks with the kids in our current house until ex gets it refinanced (soon, very soon!). I exercise 4-5 days/wk on weeks I'm not at the house and manage 2-3 days when I am there. Slowly but surely. I'll be there before I know it.

I'm in the process of buying a house and getting moved soon hopefully. I put in an offer, they countered and weren't very nice. I've got to decide if I want to counter or not. I've got maybe 1 counter left in me but if they can't do that, I'm done and will look for something else.

Enough for now. I'll try to post towards end of next week. Cya, Greg

Hey Greg, I am 195.5 also!

I am still preparing for my half Ironman on April 5. Flyinfree will be competing as well. Since he leaves before me, I probably won't see him and if I do, it will be on the bike and then he will whiz by me on the run. In any event, I'll be pleased with my performance.

TSILCYC is guiding me on the training.

Keep it up my brotha! No need to document your workouts here, but come back and let us know how you did. I bet you are super excited. That's cool.

I snuck in a couple of days of running last week. I ran 2.5 miles on Thursday after work then snuck in a nice, long (for me) 5 mile run Friday after work.

My divorce is final and I found out Saturday that I got the house I've been wanting to buy. I'm trying to plan closing around the 1st week of April which will allow me to skip May's payment and not make a payment until June. All of this should allow me to pretty much pay cash for furniture and other odds and ends that I'll need. I've been gradually picking up things like bath towels, soap, silverware, cleaning stuff etc. so I won't have to buy it all at once. I'll also be able to pay off an entire huge credit card bill which will cut out a huge payment every month. Things continue to go well. I'm at my folks again this week so I expect I'll weigh in around 193 or less by Saturday morning when I get back to "my scales". I'll post workouts this week as I go along. Take care all, Greg

Still persevering, lol. Worked chest/tri's last night followed by 2.5 miles on the treadmill and 6 on the stationary bike.

Tonights plan is back and bi's followed by 3.2 mile run and 12 miles on the bike.

Weight staying between 195-200, depending on diet (OBVIOUSLY!). I expect I'll be more focused on my weight loss once I move into my new house. There are a lot of distractions right now and I'm working out 4-5 days a week one week then 0-2 the next. Plus, I'm pretty content with the 46 pound weight loss up to this point. I'll take it to the next level soon! Complacency sucks!:eating:
