Floater's diary

:grouphug: Nothing more important than friends during the dark part of the year. I hope you're getting enough daylight.
I try to go out during the few hours of daylight daily. Thankfully this is almost over - passing the Winter Solstice is a huge psychological boost to me, and early March is pretty light already.

Had rice and eggs... I think I´ll take out some fruit to thaw, I feel like having something sweet!

Had the fruit, am now making more rice that I plan to pan-fry with tuna and season with soy sauce, white pepper, and sesame seeds. Perhaps making a new friend has given me a spark of light in the middle of all this mental and spiritual darkness!

Making a new friend is always a good thing. I would really struggle with so much darkness & you do well making the most of it. I like to see that you are eating well :grouphug:

Dinner is an amazing emptying-the-cupboards-creation of hashbrown-style oven-baked bastardized pakoras and tomato-butterbean soup with nduja paste I bought in the summer but never got around to use. Smells heavenly even though in hindsight I should have added oil into the pakora batter... Well, nevermind, maybe I´ll just butter them once they get out of the oven lol. Pretty happy with my accomplishment.

Breakfast/brunch today was yesterday´s soup with added frozen spinach, and a bowl of miso broth with rice noodles. Off to the gym I go!

I boiled 6 eggs for later use, and I have a pot of carrot, tomato and white bean nduja soup on the stove. I had my usual post-workout porridge - gym was good. I wasn´t in my best shape but some workouts are like that; I still had fun, and I´m glad I went.

Fun is probably the most important thing, possibly after safety. I'm taking inspiration from you today and dragging my old carcas off the couch to make some nice soup

Bought some ham, grated cheese and Philadelphia cheese, and made a new batch of bastardized pakoras, this time with potatoes, carrots, hot sauce, cheese and obviously chickpea flour (gram). Took a shower, let Heikki out to play, did laundry & dishes. The pakoras should be ready in 15 mins or so.

I think I´ll buy more nduja once the jar is empty. It´s definitely not the healthiest thing, but used in veggie-rich soups/stews it balances things out and it definitely holds hunger well this way. I´m tempted to put it on bruschetta some day...

Guyyyyssss, dipping pakoras and apple slices in cream cheese is a divine combo...!!! I´ll have a bowl of peas with furikake seasoning and roasted sesame oil as well.

... and a small bowl of soup. I'm so nervous about my in-person meeting with the trans clinic interviewer tomorrow!!

That food does sound delicious.
Take strength from knowing that you are seeking to have your body more in line with your genuine self.

I’ll check back in a few hours to see how it went 🤞😘
