Floater's diary

You eat so healthy. I love that you have all sorts of varieties of veggies in your diet which is something I lack.
I have periods of better eating and periods of living on beer and burgers... I try to stretch out the former and minimize the latter lol.

EDIT also, I use frozen fruit and most of my veggies are frozen too. As an ADHD:er, veggies and fruit tend to go to waste unless they are frozen. And frozen fruit is hassle-free & cheaper than fresh, here at least. Now that I have a microwave, I can thaw them in there instead of having to wait for them to melt, and my brain needs the opportunity to eat when hunger hits and not a minute later or earlier
You live in a house??
Oh goodness no, I have a two-room apartment which I love but is honestly a bit over my budget. I just can´t bring myself to move because I love living next to a park/forest area.

Pea soup and rye bread with a fried egg for lunch.

It sounds to me like you're doing well not dwelling on the stuff you can't do much about at the moment & are getting sound nutrition. How's your little buddy, Heiki?

That’s a good idea. I tend to do the same too and it drives me crazy. When you eat the frozen peas, they are frozen?? Is it hard to chew?

That’s what I thought. However, I was confused because I thought the landlord is responsible for renovations.

I pop them in the microwave for 30sec so they are still slightly frosted but not thoroughly frozen. I enjoy the texture like that, it's a bit like ice cream. I usually put seasoning on it, what I use is something similar to furikake or Everything but the bagel seasonings.

Usually yes, but I have to pay for the floor materials because the damage was my fault :/

Breakfast was steamed rice with an egg whisked together with parmesan and hot sauce. Post-workout porridge is prepped, gym bag packed, now I only need to decide if I want to go to the gym before lunch or after.

I need to remember to buy more creme fraiche, potatoes, and onions on my way home.

I have one portion of pea soup and two portions of lentil-cauliflower curry in the fridge, and I think I´ll prep a big batch of egg drop soup tonight. This time I´ll make it with ginger, zucchini, and black beans.

You’re doing very well taking care of yourself & eating so well.
:grouphug: Bad times are bad when they hit, but they don´t last forever!

I had a decent workout but once I again, as I was doing bench press, I was hit by a migraine aura: symmetrical lights flashing in the corners of my field of vision. I managed to do my workout safely but could tell I wasn´t 100%. On my way home I started to feel a floating feeling, almost as if I were drunk. I showered, am now eating a bowl of pea soup, will take 1000mg of paracetamol and 600 ibuprofen as instructed, drink a lot of water, and rest.

Common sense would suggest that I have some kind of a spasm or tightness somewhere in my back/upper back/neck/chest area and when I do certain movements, it either triggers a pain hotspot or prevents blood flow to my brain, which then triggers the migraine. I probably need to get checked by a physiotherapist at some point but AFAIK that´s usually done when diagnosing/treating migraines anyway.

Are you doing the Valsalva manoeuvre as you lift ? it is known to induce migraines in some people.
Interesting! But no, I do lift/push while I exhale but I try to keep my face etc relaxed and breathe in and out through my nose 🤔 I don't think Valsalva is something I could do without noticing myself doing it, if it is what I think it is it's quite a... noisy affair? 🤓

Snack: two warm tuna sandwiches and a small bowl of tuna with a little dollop of creme fraiche and real vanilla on top.

Food still sounds great. Have your migraines increased so much or are these issues you already had but didn't have a name for in the past?

These are issues I've had since childhood, I'm just bad at understanding when I'm in pain. A real life example: textile tags drive me insane and register as painful, but I have walked on a broken toe because it just felt uncomfortable and annoying.

And yes, I didn't have a name or explanation until now.

Of course, the combo of money worries + high heat and humidity + insomnia is prone to trigger migraines so I'm not surprised attacks try to creep in daily.

I had a short walk and did food prep: tried making dosas out of chickpea flour and hemp protein, turned fugly but tasty. Also boiling potatoes for later, and will get the egg drop soup going.

I like the sound of chickpea dosa. How were they for stickage? That's been a problem for me with chickpea flower in the past.

I made a thin batter, the hemp protein and corn starch helped the dosa keep it's consistency. I used a lot of oil for frying so definitely not a light meal in that aspect.

I do own a waffle iron, maybe I should experiment a bit.

Last meal of today was a small bowl of fruit and cauliflower-lentil curry with potatoes, seasoned with butter and creme fraiche. I put green lentils to soak for tomorrow. Feeling tired but happy.

your right most people are aware of when they hold their breath by closing the glottis but some do need to be reminded to breathe through the lift. Vasalva is important for some lifting situations but it can be very bad for some people including migraines, passing out or heart attack. Sounds like there is no serious problems with your breathing during the lift.
