Fitness after 4

Wow, I guess it has been a little while. I haven't been doing well with my fitness goals, I guess it didn't make sense to post my lack of progress. I plan to run tonight, day one again lol I have been really overwhelmed with life, but it has to get better. Weight wise I am holding, but I am not feeling that great about myself. Only 1.5 weeks left until summer break! At least then I will get a little reprieve from life as I know it.

glad to see you again. I know what you mean about not feeling good about yourself...right there with ya! LOL We have to keep positive and I, for one, have a hard time with that. LOL Chin up!

I'm sorry you have been feeling overwhelmed. I hope everything is ok. Let me know if I can do anything for ya. ((HUGS))
 
:eek2:I can't believe it has been a month. Just got back from a 10 day break on the beach and am feeling well rested. I am home for the summer and plan to use this time to get my firness plan established as a routine again. My goal is to lose 10 lbs, gain muscle, and have more energy. I have a picture taken of me in Florida that really highlights what I would like to change and will use this as my motivation. I am just catching up on diaries and can't wait to see the progress everyone else has made.
 
Day2 of actually opening this diary. I contemplated starting a new one, but I think it would do me good to have to start where I left off. I walked briskly for 45 minutes yesterday and did lot's of yardwork. I will be lifting Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Diet wise I need to shop today. My garden is coming, but I only have swiss chard that is ready. I am going to stick with a 1200 calorie diet for now. I have avoided the scale for the last month, will have to weigh in tomorrow and measure. My short term goal for this week is come up with a plan today and stick with it for a week.

I think one of my biggest weaknesses is saying I don't have enough time. I truly do have a busy schedule, however a little organization would probably result in plenty of time. Not to mention, I tend to put everything else ahead of my fitness goals, which I know is not exactly healthy. Overall I need to get my act together to feel better about myself and have more energy.

Thanks She, Ya know I really don't have an excuse. I just need to do it. I have alot of writing to do this summer and getting in shape will definately help my focus.
 
Thanks Sparrow, I am not sure I have the guts to ever post a picture:) I guess maybe if I felt I was in great shape I would do it. I don't worry about it when I am out, but to put up a picture to be analyzed scares the crap out of me :eek: I am my own harsh critic, I don't think I could handle any more than I dish out. Today I have eaten well, planning to walk again tonight for 30 minutes and lift weights. I think I will stick to the BFL plan and do upper body, as I know what to do.
 
Well let's see on track today with eating. I had cereal for breakfast Fresh salad with tuna for lunch. Right I am drinking a protien shake for a snack. Planning grilled chicken and veggies for supper and a slice of peanut butter bread this evening. I weighed in this morning, I am at 138lbs, vacation was not kind, or should I say I was not kind to myself on vacation lol. Let's just say I enjoyed all that restaurant food too much. I am on track now though. Will weigh in weekly to avoid the obsession. The way I see it I need to cut at least 10lbs and go from there. Will be walking this evening for cardio.
 
you can do it. give yourselrf some major credit eh!! most people just sit around and pig up all the time... WE are here on a fitness board working together to be better.

I'd say you were rather too kind to yourself on vacation, which of course is the point of being on vacation. :) Now that you're back into your regular life you can start back into your regular food plan/exercise routine. Keep up the good work.
 
Thanks, Stingo, FF, and Merc for your kind words. I ended up starving after my walk, I think I had a little calorie defecit, So I threw in a lettuce salad to fill me up. Walk was hot and felt great, no back pain, so I must be behaving. I feel a little guilty walking instead of running, but I walk fast and am telling myself it is just as effective. I was in an 80's mood tonight, listened to a bit of everything....showing my age lol ;-)

Now I am off to complete three weeks worth of statistics I am behind on lol.

Well let's seeing, eating on track today.

Breakfast: cereal and milk
Snack: cheesestick
Lunch: Healkthy Coice vegetable beef soup, one slice wheat bread with peanut butter.


I decreased my coffe intake to two cups, I am trying to wean myself off the caffiene and avoid the headache that will ensue without it.

Workout wise I will be doing lower body W/O and walkng this evening. I don't thinking walking everyday for cardio is too much.

Work wise I will be finishing my statistics homework, taking a quiz, and writing a book review. Hopefully my goals are reasonable ;-)

I feel really good today, I think because I am getting back on track. I will be shopping for more options this weekend, btu need to make do with my current food resources until then.

Off to get some work done!
 
Finished off yesterday as planned, I did a lower body workout, but did not get to walk due to some pretty nasty thunderstorms. I woke up a tad bit sore this morning, nothing out of the ordinary amount of soreness I would expext given how long it has been since I have worked out.

Will post my diet later after I go to the store. Breakfast is oatmeal.
 
Well, today went well. I walked briskly for about 50 minutes this evening. It definately allowed me to achieve my target heart rate and is better for my knees:). Diet wise I am doing much better than vacation .

Breakfast: Oatmeal 140 cal
Coffee 2 cups
Snack: Cheesestick 110 cal
Crystal light
Lunch: Turkey on whole wheat 300 cal
Sunchips 140 cal
Water
Snack: Skipped Diet soda
Supper: Low fat cheeseburger on the grill with bun 350 cal
Salad 150 cal
1/2 cup low fat no added sugar icecream 140 cal (little splurge here)
Crystal Light
Snack: Water

Total Calories 1330 ( little too high, goal 1200 cal) Should have said know to the icecream, and the burger wasn't the best choice, but still better than I have been doing. My activity level was high today, so hopefully I burned all of those extra calories. Overall, I am on the right track:cool:.
 
Had a great weekend, went on a sailboat ride with my husband. Overall ate fair despite going out. I weighed myself this morning and I am at 136lbs which is 2 lbs less than last week. I will be walking this evening and lifting weights (upper body). I am feeling better now that I am eating better. I have so much more energy when I eat breakfast. Overall having a busy, but good day. Hopefully this week goes as well as last!:)
 
Still on track with my exercise and nutrition goals. I am averaging 1200-1300 calories a day which is adequate for weight loss based on my needs. Today I am at a total of 600 after eating lunch. I have been trying to eat a bigger lunch and go light at supper.

Tonight I will be walking and doing lower body weight training. At 2lbs a week I can reach my weight loss goal in about 4 weeks and then I will go from there.
 
Thanks Stingo. I think I would like to build a little muscle. I am very small framed and I think It would be an interesting change. Not to mention might help me hold off osteoporosis, which is something I have a significant family history of.
