Fitness after 4

Been eating well for the most part this week. Exercise I am still limited but the numbness in my foot is gone. Saw my doc and he agrees that I herniated a disc, but we are holding off the MRI just to see if my symptoms resolve with PT. He wanted the MRI, but my deductable is high and am certainly not ready for surgery. The good news is he will order one whenever I decide I am not getting better. I am going to add some exercise tonight and avoid anything that makes me hurt lol. Hopefully the PT will have some good ideas. Feeling better about things this week now that I am seeing some improvement, but the thought of surgery is not a pleasant one.

Over the last 1.5 weeks I have slowly progressed to pain free. It has taken almost 7 weeks to get here. I feel like I am at square one again, but at least I feel good. My plan is to ease in slowly and continue with exerises that strengthen my back and abdominal muscles. I am going to Florida this summer and would really like to feel good about my bathing suit :) I am going to begin with cardio tonight and see how it goes.

Just ease into it slowly - don't want to aggravate anything and make things worse. Doing something is much better than doing nothing at all.

agree with Tom. Take it ez and make sure to stop yourself if you feel something amiss, k? We want you to enjoy the trip in the Summer ;)

I'm back....sure everyone was sick of my whining, but I am doing much better. I took another week off and started back into things this week. I did lower body yesterday and cardio today. I am taking it easy. My weight is up to 132lbs as of Monday, but I'm not surprised and I expected worse. At 5' 6" I am shooting for 125lbs (wanna keep my curves lol). Eating is improving this week. Been a little stressed, my kids are taking turns getting a nasty virus and work is a little stress ridden lol. Other than that I am doing ok. On an up note I am pain free and have no numbness in my foot YIPPEEE!

I'm sorry I haven't been around much, but I have had a few important deadlines to meet.
Here's to a new start!

Everyone has down times where it's perfectly fine to whine - just so long as it's not a permanent condition... :) Welcome back - glad to see you're starting up again.

Thanks Stingo.

Now it is my turn to be sick ;-) I have a fever and chills and a horrible sore throat. To make matters worse, my dad is sick and in the hospital. I am probably not going to exercise tonight as planned, hopefully I feel better tomorrow. My weight is down to 129lbs this week. Diet is fair, although today eating is rough, but I am getting lots of liquids.

Still sick, now coughing and congested. I am not going to exercise this way as I feel horrible. I have alot of goals when i feel better. Hopefully tomorrow the coughing has eased enough for weight training. I think I'd need an ambualnce if I attempted any form of cardio lol. Weight is the same, but then my eating is low too. Dad is home from the hospital which leaves me one last thing to worry about.

My goals for next week are as follows:

Drink 8 glasses of water a day
Reduce caffeine to one cup of coffee in the am ( won't tell what I am up too)
Exercise 6 days out of 7

I think it may be easier at this point to have some weekly short term goals to go with my long term ones.

My vacation is booked in Florida, so now I really need to get in shape. It's bad enough that I don't tan at all..........

Who needs tan from the sun with the UV radiation and skin damaged :p That's why we invented the self-tanning lotion or spray :D :D

Thanks K, unfirtunatelly I find the sunless tanners just look fake. I am very fair skinned, so I usually just head for the 40 sunblock and stay out of the sun in the afternoon. I really don't mind it, tans do hide things that glow in the dark white does not lol!

Another week gone and no progress. This time I ended up with a nasty respiratory virus. I am still coughing but doing better. My dad is home again, still having some problems but at least he is out of the hospital.
I am planning to try a core performance routine that a friend of my husband suggested. I am hoping to prevent any further back problems. Weighed in today at 129lbs. Starting tomorrow I am going to eat clean. Blew it this weekend with wine, Mondavi Cab is one of my favorites. My husband is on board this time, so I will have partner, which always helps with motivation. Glad to see everyone else is doing so well.

Plan for the day

I will be posting diet daily, hoping to keep myself honest lol I also will post water intake as I tend to forget to drink it.

Planning to lift weights today. Will post what I actually do later.

Still coughing uugh, I hope it goes away soon, it will make cardio a little rough.

Thanks for the journal love. <3

I've been keeping up on your journal...I read everything, I just try to limit myself to the occasional post..or I'd be spending all my time lurking about this site, haha.

Sorry to hear about your bouts of sickness. I admire your persistence, though. Getting right back to it, I see. :D

I'll be traveling for two months in the summer, myself. It really lends a sense of urgency to things, doesn't it? Good luck "bringing sexy back" for the summer. ;) Don't forget to enjoy it.

Thanks Focus, I understand about posting time. I am home this week and posting alot lol. I always feel guilty and try to catch up on people when I can. Thanks for the vote of confidence:D Keep up the great work yourself.

Hubby's is supposed to take pictures tonight, not sure I will be brave enough until I am done to post them though ;-) Made a killer lemon garlic chicken last night, took all my ideas fromt he recipe czar, thanks for the tip. Will do more experimenting as it made the food a whole lot more appealing.

Sorry you've been so sick! It's nice that your hubby is with ya though! Seaking of the Mondavi-I had the merlot this weekend and loved it!:D

Well let's, I managed to exercise 4 out of 7 days last week. I ended up an antibiotic for my URI, but am doing better and hoping that the cardio improves this week. Still weigh the same. Eating was okay until the weekend when I cheated both days , need to do better with that lol. Thanks for all of the encouragement, here's to another week!
