:) I had quinoa as well, but with kale. So far so good indeed...
Making the house a home sounds good!

Thanks guys!

So, updating for Sunday and yesterday. Sunday was a pretty nice day. It was about 60 degrees outside and I went to Highland Games practice. Since it's March, I forgot about sunscreen and got sunburned after spending about 4 hours outside throwing. Good news is, I think I won't just completely embarrass myself when I compete in April. If I haven't mentioned that, I signed up for a my first games to try to make myself jump into it. Both of the coaches at practice pretty much said, "You're strong as shit. If you get the technique down, your stuff will FLY." So that was a nice little boost for my ego. It was also nice to possibly work my way into a new social group. I have a lot of dance related friends, but not so may in the strength community.

Yesterday was kind of mixed. My anxiety was pretty high for a good portion of the day. I got fixated on my house getting broken into. To be honest, it's an especially nonsensical worry. The town I'm in now is very small and the crime rate is really really low. Like.....the town made the top 100 list of towns to retire to in Virginia specifically because of how safe it is here. Even if you live in the "bad" part of town, crime isn't a huge concern. I think total last year there were like....12 burglaries. All year. Consequently, the anxiety was making me feel really bingey, but I didn't let myself try to eat the feelings away. After work I went to my hip hop class. To be honest, I felt like I needed a rest day after lifting on Saturday and throwing on Sunday, but I also felt like I needed to go because I probably won't be able to leave the house for two days. We're about to get like 10 inches of snow.

Food Sunday:
Breakfast: skipped
Lunch: trail mix - 210 calories
Dinner: shrimp with garlic sauce and an egg roll - 1130 calories
Total: 1340 calories

Food Yesterday:
Breakfast: oatmeal with half a scoop protein powder, red grapes - 339 calories
Lunch: chicken torta with black beans - 740 calories
Dinner: Mexican lasagna - 772 calories
Total: 1851 calories

Exercise Sunday:
4 hours Highland games practice

Exercise yesterday:
1 hour dance fitness

Yesterday made 50 days soda free.

Quick add. I was having some pain in my left side and looked to see a bruise. Felt around and there was a little lump/ridge under the bruise. I'm really hoping I haven't gotten a minor tear in my transverse abdominis. I'd know if I tore something, right? I'm thinking it would hurt a lot more than it has been.

Congratulations!

Not always, but you would if it were something bigger. Does it hurt to engage the muscle? Highland games training sounds like the kind of thing where it´s easy to get bruises, with or without swelling underneath.

Lama: It's funny. My perception of strength is a little skewed because I lift with guys who are 6'6", weigh 300 lbs, and squat 600 lbs. I just kind of assume I'm weak. Regarding the ab, sometimes it hurts to engage, other times not. I've tried to experiment and see if there's a particular motion that causes pain, but I can't find anything consistent. I'm thinking I just whacked myself with something, but am going to be careful over the next couple weeks and pay attention to it.

Going a little stir crazy. We've got about 8 inches of snow right now. I worked from home yesterday and am working from home today. M's class was cancelled (although I wouldn't have ventured out to go anyways) and I really doubt I'm going to try and go lift tonight. Gains are not worth my life and I'd have to drive over the mountain to get to the gym. So, I'll be light on cardio this week and I'll push today's lifting session to Friday. That will probably put me in the position of lifting Friday, throwing Saturday, and lifting Sunday. That's not my favorite set up because it's A LOT over three days for my muscles to deal with, but I'm not sure what else to do. That's assuming throwing practice isn't cancelled, which is a real possibility because even IF all the snow melts by Saturday it will be a gross, swampy mess. I'm also trying to stay between 1600-1700 calories while I'm so sedentary over the next couple days.

Yesterday's food:
Breakfast: red grapes - 104 calories
Lunch: Mexican lasagna - 770 calories
Dinner: broiled salmon with quinoa and mixed veggie salad - 828 calories
Total: 1702 calories

Yesterday's exercise:
Nothing :(

Everyhing is coated in pollen here, but there are lots of flowers and green and it's pleasant out so I wouldn't trade you even with the allergies.

When it breaks 100 in a few months I'll be dreaming of snow.

Your schedule sounds like a rough Monday. I hope the roads clear quickly for you!

On the darker, shorter days of the oncoming Winter, I will try to remind myself that our Winters are nothing, compared to yours. Feel free to remind me if I forget! :)

Thanks guys! I have managed to dig myself out today, but a lot of people are still working from home.

Yesterday was pretty much the same as the day before. Stuck inside, although I did do some shoveling to make sure I could out of my driveway to get to work this morning. That's about it.

Yesterday's food:
Breakfast: red grapes - 104 calories
Lunch: noodles with alfredo sauce and vegetables - 850 calories
Dinner: Swiss steak and mashed potatoes - 670 calories
Total: 1624 calories

Yesterday's exercise:
Still nothing.

Alrighty. Update for over the weekend. It was kind of mixed. I'll admit that on Saturday and Sunday, I went a little off the rails and didn't track calories. Probably ate around 3,000 calories both those days though. Friday night was a little more reasonable at 1990 calories. Overall just a pretty high calorie weekend. I think it's because I'm having PMS cravings. Trying really hard to rein it in today. I did weightlift on Friday and had a pretty good day with that. I'm approaching a previous PR. I think my previous best was 185 for 2, so 160 for 5 is getting close-ish to that. Saturday was also good. There was a 2 hour zumba even that I went to and got to see a lot of folks I haven't seen in a while.

Exercise Friday:
Deadlift:
125 lbs for 3
145 lbs for 3
160 lbs for 5

Military:
55 lbs for 3
65 lbs for 3
75 lbs for 5

Banded leg curls:
3x25

Chest supported rows:
40 lbs 3x12

Exercise Saturday:
2 hours dance fitness

Congratulations Cory on your excellent weight loss!
