I don't understand how your not losing weight, especially after looking at those pictures, you definitely looked slimmer. I guess the only explanation is that you built some muscle to replace that fat... right?
Presumably. If I would bother to make time to go get the body fat testing done instead of just whining about it we might have a better idea, haha.
From what I've seen the rules are not set in stone. Berardi for example cites numerous case studies where even highly trained athletes gained mass close to, equal to or in excess of the amount of fat they lost in cases where they lost a lot of fat. And that was from just dietary changes, which often included an increase in caloric intake.
One I remember was for a beginner lifter eating at maintenance whose results were
Another was for a martial arts trainer who gained 20 lbs of muscle while losing only 12 or so of fat for a gain of 8 lbs over the same time period.Net result — 8 weeks:
7lb weight loss; -19.5lb fat, +12.5lb lean
I'm currently down 3lbs for over 6 weeks and hopefully up ? lean mass. But based on the rate at which I would in the past be losing it, that would have been a **** of a lot of muscle gain offsetting my fat loss. It would be way more noticeable I'd think. But I am(/was) terribly out of shape and pretty flabby so I'm guessing the differences will become more pronounced over time. I know when I get up in the morning and look in the mirror my stomach sticks out way less than it used to. From the side it's almost even with my chest, and from the front I can see lines under the fat.
Yeah, I know what you mean about the clean up. If you are just making food for yourself there's not a lot of reason to really prepare great meals... unless you enjoy cooking or something.
I always still made the flaxbread, though. I ate so many hamburgers you wouldn't believe it... haha. During the superbowl they were selling 80/20 ground beef for like 1.68 a pound, I bought 12 pounds of that stuff and was eating 6 oz hamburgers for a loooong time.
I ate them with ranch dressing, couple pickles, and cheese.... that's one of the things I miss about keto right there!
I've got some sirloin burgers (just ground meat, shaped into burgers). I've been eating one or two a day for most of the last few weeks, so yeah I believe you. I'm so boring I just eat it plain though. It's like I'm a robot now, haha. I don't care at all. When I crave salt I put some on, other than that...
But I'm not sure this 1500-1800 calorie thing is such a good idea. Can't see that it's doing particularly better for me than the higher intake (only been a few days though), and man am I gonna be starving after my run today and only have 200 calories to eat. Unfortunately, I already committed to it, and that means it's a matter of honor! :SaiyanSmilie_anim: I'm stuck until Velocity... and then I'm stuck with that... and then I'm gonna have the bestest fat kid week ever.
