Consistency. It's not a pizza topping.

Hate you, bacon

Yeah, I'm definitely getting rid of bacon once I run out. And for now gonna stick to a relatively light amount which I will weigh every time (because it seems to vary quite a lot in what is visually "the same amount"). Sneaking calories on me and ****. You are a bad food! Not enough to make much of a difference, but still I don't like it. And it's not terribly satisfying for its caloric content. As I said earlier I'd rather just eat a lean meat and then enjoy something like coconut or flax as well. That would also give me some fiber. Which I seem to be doing fine without, but uh, yeah, I'd rather not.

1 Month Progress Photos

Welp. Don't really think there's enough of a difference to make them worth sharing yet, but I guess I'll leave that up to you. Not terribly impressed, but I can at least see a little improvement.

The message I'm getting is "turn up the heeeeat, son." Hopefully a month on 1500-1800 calories a day + running will tell a different story. Anyway, here they are:

As you can see the entire 3 lbs I lost was hair.

Your scale must be broken, I don't understand how that is only a 3 pound loss. I can definitely tell a difference.

Technically I actually gained 1.4 lbs this month (since the start of the contest), and that's after transitioning to keto (during which I should have supposedly lost some water weight?) Haha. My **** is confusing.

Thanks, though. I guess if you can. You know, all that stuff about other people being able to see the difference because they haven't seen it as often. It's hard for me to see much of a difference. I know some of my clothes are looser. My girlfriend asked me where my ass went yesterday to which I replied, "Are you sure I had one in the first place, there, Ms. Jungle Booty? :D"

Edit: Decided to try running in the evening today. But now I gotta get off my ass and out there into the "cold" and get it done!

C5K Week 1, Workout 3

Ran 3.0 miles tonight (I am following the times, that's just how far I got in 20 minutes). Sort of liked running in the evening with the wind. I'mma need to wear gloves next time so my hands don't turn into blocks of ice.

Had a little difficulty getting out the door to start, there, but made out alright overall. Noticed myself wanting to run past the 60s mark so I shortened up my walk intervals (to 80s walk and 70s run). I also noticed I come out of the gate way too fast.

Guess that completes week 1. And I'm already up to 5k, haha. So much for that. But that's why I picked this program - the intervals are timed. I'm gonna aim for being able to run 5 continuous miles by the end of April. And in 30-35 minutes, I think.

I find that hard to believe... those are really fast miles. You are a crazy dude, dude.

So do I, man. So do I. I keep checking and re-checking this kind of **** because I'm convinced it can't be right. But I swear, those are the numbers. Same thing as my apparently being able to cycle all day at a 20mph pace.

I was quite the gifted athlete when I was young, but I dunno. This **** makes me all crazy. I should add that what I'm doing is more like sprint/walk than jog/walk, though, as I can't really control my pace yet. I don't know what's jogging or what's walking, but when I'm running I'm covering 3 times as much ground in the same amount of time as when I walk (which I do quickly, at about a 4-4.5 mph pace afaict).

But hey, check it out. My weight might finally be trending down, at my below-minimum intake. Woot, haha. I can tell because I'm actually hungry at this calorie level. I want to eat more, not less. Which I'm taking as a good sign. :)

Whoa... hold on. So you are saying you jog/walked and sprint/walked 3 miles in 20 minutes? That just can't be. You'd have to be running fast as hell the whole time.

I hope that weight loss trend continues brotha, I know when I was cutting hunger was somewhat necessary for results.

Welp, 3 miles in 20 minutes is an average speed of 9 mph. Top running speed for an elite athlete is about 20 mph for sprints, isn't it? So with roughly equal running and walking time that would mean I was moving at 13.5 mph for the running portions, assuming I was even walking that fast in my recovery. I think I'd have to agree with you. But that's what my little google maps pedometer says. Maybe I am doing it wrong somehow. I should get in my car and drive the same route, see what it says. Haha.

Really, though, it doesn't matter. It's just a question of whether I ran further than last time, and/or with less walking. But still I'm curious now. :D

Seems that way, huh? I've got a good feeling about it, anyway. I'll figure it out eventually.

You should go to a track and try to run around the wide lane 12 times, that would be 3 miles exactly

well, the big football field tracks are that way anyway. 4 laps on the wide lane is a mile.

But I digress.

I could go down to the U one day and give it a shot. I just looked it up and supposedly average running speed is 15 mph. So, according to a basic Google search, it is conceivable.

Funny you should mention doing laps though because that is essentially what I've taken to. I just run 4 laps of 3 city blocks (there and back, on opposite sides of the road - on the sidewalk of course). Then I run another 4 on the next Ave down. Visually it would seem comparable to 12 laps on a track. Only one way to find out I guess.

I know that when I'm out (lol I wasn't gonna mention this) I come across other joggers occasionally, and I move much faster than them. I actually lapped one guy (on my route) as he was passing through. And that's with the walking. Of course he was just striding along looking real put together and I was breathing like a dying walrus. :p

Still hate - so much!

Yep. Bacon is definitely trying to **** me. Every time I've weighed it for the last 4 days, it's turned out to be 10-20% more. All other variables controlled. The same 6 slices. Every time.

I am so angry at you, bacon. I want you to die. I guess I'll try to eat more chicken and whatnot. I do have half a clan's worth of chicken thighs in the freezer.

like I said earlier:

By the way, I am working on a calorie counter device that gets installed in your body and it gives you a detailed summary of the total calories every time you eat, what the Protein, fat, and carb content is and it can give you a daily total whenever you want it, a weekly total etc.

I am going to sell it for $25,000, do you wanna buy one?

I'll put you on the preorder list ;)

Didn't really do much today. 120 mins cycling, 1453 calories or so, 35.8 miles. But I'm not bothering to record that stuff here anymore. Counting it as NEPA, as previously mentioned.

Was supposed to weight train cause I had taken the extra day earlier (meaning this whole week would be 2 day intervals in addition to the last one but I got pretty busy for a while. Not really much of an excuse. That's twice now in a few weeks of pushing things back a day. Will have to be more disciplined in future. Gonna be a whiile before I get another 2 day break from strength training.

Almost forgot. It occurs to me that I could just put all this stuff in the posts with the date and the workout. It'd be easier to find, too. Hmm.
