DON'T FORGET TO DRINK THAT WATER GUY'S

Hello Everyone,

I would just like to add a couple of things to Tims comments, but this is more for the ladies in this forum as opposed to Tim, incase his comments make them feel uneasy about certain aspects. I agree with Joyseys comments about keeping this forum as positive as possible.

Opinions - Of course we are all entitled to our opinions of other people, especially those running the clinics, but please think before you post. This is a public forum and can be read by anybody with internet access worldwide.Hello!! This is exactly why we post here. The WWW is a great way to research, find support and make informed choices. I do all of my reseacrh on the net as do most people thses days. Publishing comments of a derrogatory nature not only breaks your agreement in registering with this site, but can also have legal implications. Tim's playing in the deep end of the pool now when he really should stick to shallow end. He is in my territory now. This is a public forum, where no breaches of defamation laws have been broken. Should he wish to pursue this I'll give him a couple of pointers in the right direction. Firstly, you need to ascertain what jurisdiction you would like to enforce your action. By this I mean, a person can be in one country, using an isp from another country and posting on a forum in a third country. Guess what? You have to apply to all 3 countries in order to pursue any action. Although some countries have agreements for laws such as this, most won't enforce them. This is the exact reason only rich people ever enforce this type of action. $$$$$$$$

But why do we have clients in here flagrantly disregarding the copyright on their program saying they will share it with others who haven't followed the instructions they agreed to in the first place? Tim doesn't own the copyright in the Cohen's program, so I don't even know why he is putting this section in (maybe he has watched L.A Law or Ally McBeal too much). We are perfectly entitled to allow others to look at our program (just as you would loan a friend a DVD). As long as we do not purport to sell, hire, or distribute the diet for monetary purposes we do not infringe. What people do with the diet in their own home is their own business - but hey, I am happy to say don't breach any copyright laws whilst you are looking.

One noticable contract breach has been from Tim. By posting personal information about Cryss and her personal details (appointments, blood tests etc), he has breached Privacy Laws. Happy to advise Cryss on this issue should she need it :)

Well thats enough time on those issues! Now for some good stuff.

Hello Everyone,

Just thought I would let everyone know that Harris Scarfe is having a huge sale on kitchen scales. There are some scales adverttised in the catalogue items, but also 30-50% off all other scales. I bought myself a new set today. $79.95 down to $34.95. Most of us would have scales, but it might aid some of the new ladies.

I also thought I would post the Mango Chicken Receipe:-

Chicken (allowance)
Mango (from your fruit allowance)
Steamed vegies of your choice(allowance)

Cut a hole in the center of the chicken. Add some sliced mango into the pocket.
Lightly sprinkle the chicken with herbs (limited amounts) garlic or curry powder.
Put the chicken into a foil parcel, but allow a small opening for steam to escape.
Bake for 15 mins open the foil and brown for 5-10 mins.
You can also add your vegies to the chicken parcel or serve with fresh vegies/salad.

I really enjoyed this as a change. Alternatively, you can grill your chicken and serve the mango over the top. Nice either way!

My refeed is going to be ordered next week after my blood test. I am looking forward to seeing what it contains.

3pm here, 3 litres of water :)

JOYSEY - you are right, we can't be in the 10 kilo club, but we can be judges (bribes accepted gracefully ) :)

MONI - I keep looking at your new pic. You look so much younger!

MEL - Any change in sizing is most welcome! It looks like you had a great day.

mango's

Hi guy's

Myshy- glad to hear that you like my mango chicken.....

on that subject- does anyone know if you can get frozen mango's at the supermarket.

I looked at the local woolies and they don't stock it......

Thought it would be cheaper and easier just to get the frozen ones if they have them....... mango season is near to over and I can only eat my yoghurt with mango...... anyway enough from me......

will talk to you tonight on chat...... bye for now

Mangos!

Moni,
was that your receipe? It is fantastic!

You used to be able to buy frozen mango cheeks, but I haven't actively looked for any in years. I was lucky enough to have purchased a box of 20 mangos for $20 in a fundraiser, so I froze some then. I don't have much left though. I'm so glad we can have mangos, they are a real indulgence this time of year.

Hi, everyone.
Reading everyones posts, you are all doing so well and getting it done so fast! I wish i could be like that!! well i'm trying my best but its very hard. i started at 100kg in january '05, got to 83 in march, went on holidays. back to 90. got to 80, went on holidays in august, back up to 92.. then got to 75 in november and then... you guess it! - holidays. back up to 85 now.. i needed to get to 70 by the end of the year (the year just been that is). so as you can see, i'm not doing very well. i really think i have a problem with food. which is exaccerbated by this whole diet. but i still really want to do it and finish it ... so i'm just gonna keep reading and get more inspiration to finish.
so thanks for the inspiration, bring it on girls!!
lisa:p

Frozen Mango

Moni,
Sara Lee do frozen Mango cheeks. I saw them tonight in my Safeway. Depending on the size of your local woolworths they may or may not stock them, but you can ask for them to be put into the system. Other than that, you can buy Mango in a tin, but I am not sure how this tastes and you might need to be careful that it doesnt contain too much syrup.

LISAB - You are in the right place for some inspiration. We will keep you on track! :D

Bye Trish;)

Goodmorning everyone!!! My next goal is to lose 7.2kg so im 78kg then its exactly 10kg to goal. Come on Lisa you can do it I was 101kg Jan 2005 and got down to 78kg and then it was a mind thing with losing the last 10kg and I made every excuse not to succeed losing the last bit of weight and for me it was up to 95.8 and today im 85.2kg and tomorrow marks the 6th week back on plan. Im not putting too much expectation and comparing myself to anyone and saying im going to lose x amount by a certain date cos thats when i dissapoint myself and fail, so I just keep doing what im doing and it seems to be going fine. I know whenever ive broken and eaten something i shouldnt of I hate myself for doing it and have made myself sick in the past from guilt so keeping all temptation out of my house is the only way for me then Im fine, poor kids but I buy them something when we are out for a treat. Doesnt this diet make you look younger I think Michelle looks gorgeous and like a new person, other people ive seen on cohens have looked heaps younger too must be the beauty of the HGH. Well im off to drink some water and eat some brekky as I find brekky really hard to eat in the morning I wish the rest of the day was like that ha ha, Ok guys have a great day congrats to Mel and Cryss you'll both soon be in the 90's yeeha take care Chez Ps Oh yeah Trish the Dieters Slim Tea - Nutri lim brand can be bought at any healthfood store try the regular strength and one cup before bed if you dont like tea fill cup half way with water wait til cooled off and skull it. Its about $10 for 30 teabags. Cya Chez:)

Hi, everyone
I did try some dieting tea it was called Dieters' Delight and it's in a green box from a health food shop. I hate tea so i'd let it cool down and then skul it before bed and then in the morning i'd be pooping. the first time i had it i got really really bad cramps like my insides were ripping out. i only have it if i've eaten something i shouldnt have that day and lately that's a bit so i've stopped taking it cuz i don't think taking it all the time would be very good for you. so that's my tea experience!!
Going alright today. it's 3.00 and i just had lunch but i'm still hungry. but i find now that i'm at work ( start late) puts those hunger pangs off when i'm getting really busy. so i'm 3 litres in and still going... hope everyone is doing well today!!!

Blood tests

Hi all,

There seems to be some confusion about blood tests and whether they are really important or not. Please take the time to read the instructions about blood tests in your program booklet carefully. Skipping blood tests or having them done on the wrong dates DOES affect the accuracy of your refeeding plan.

If you go longer than 10 weeks between tests, do not be surprised if Dr. Cohen is unable to prepare your refeeding when you need it. Occasionally, he is still able to use results if they are no more than a few weeks late. Our statistics show that people who do not do the refeeding can sometimes maintain their weight for several months after, but often end up with an even bigger problem than they began with.

The blood tests are not just for show. If Dr. Cohen didn't need them, we wouldn't waste your time and money having them done. In the event that Dr Cohen advises that he is unable to prepare a refeeding for you, you are welcome to continue following your eating plan and are entitled to full support from the clinic until your support time expires. The only way Dr Cohen can then prepare a refeeding for you is by starting from the very beginning again - new blood test, new eating plan, new fee. That makes it a very expensive mistake to be skipping those blood tests - so please don't.

If anybody is contemplating doing Cohen's program, please make sure you understand everything BEFORE you start. Doing the program half-heartedly can end up being a waste of time and money.

Frozen or tinned fruit - not allowed!

Sorry folks - only fresh fruit is allowed on Cohen's program. Pre-frozen mango cheeks are not allowed. Tinned fruit is not allowed either. Please read your program booklets more carefully. If in doubt, check with your clinic.

If you weigh out your mango (or any food/fruit) allowance and then freeze it for later use, that is fine if you choose to do that. But weighing any fruit while it is frozen will distort the amount you are having.

Going forward

Hi everyone, just a little hello as I have been away for a few days and I have missed reading everyone's posts. Wow! So much to read and catch up on. It seems this forum is now heading in the right direction again. :)

I haven't had a good week while away, but I am starting fresh tomorrow morning and am going to be positive and real. You are all doing so well and the support is
fantastic. I feel good vibes and support from it. :D

Moni: what a difference 30 kgs makes. You look so different in your photos and you should be proud of yourself. You are doing really well and are very inspiring.
Myshy and Mel: you both look gorgeous in your photos. Mel you seemed to have an enjoyable holiday and putting on that jacket must have been really satisfying. A good feeling.

It seems everyone is on track and for those of us still struggling, let's get on this wagon together and go forward like the rest.

Talk to you soon,

Cathy

Going off the cart well and truly!! Bring me back on!!!

Hi everyone was going ok until I went on holidays!!:eek:eek: I put on 7kg in a week, this week I have lost 2kg, 5kg to go to get back to 90kg ( put on 2kgs over christmas) where i was before I went on holidays I was 88kg at my last weigh in, that meant I had 10kg to go:p But now i have lots to go:eek:

I start my days excellent, yogurt all my water then:mad:eek: I don't know but I can't help myself:rolleyes: :

I think I need to re focus and decide That once again this is for me no one else and that i am looking the best I have in years and I don't want to go back to being that person again, who used to live for the next mouthful instead of my next breath. ;)

Anyhow have decided to write on here everynight and report as such as to how good I have been throught the day!!!

Okay, help . . .I just received the diet and went to the grocery and have all the right things . . .I'm a bit confused about the crackers. I bought some Wasa wafers and they are 14g per cracker, but 60 calories. I am not familiar with the exchange of the grams and was wondering if someone could help me perhaps with some brands. Some of the others were more calories and less grams . . .I'm confused.

Does seem a bit overwhelming to start doesn't it?

Hi Linda 717,
What are Wasa wafers? On my program I am allowed to have Paradise Lites (wholemeal, white or cracked pepper) or Vita-weat (original or cracked pepper only). You may also have 1 rice cake (thin) or 1 ryvita in place of 2 crispbreads.

Good luck with your program.

Cathy

Hi everyone,

It's good to find this website. Just want to say HI!

I have just signed up for the Cohen Lifestyle program, and just did the blood test. Am due to receive the program by next Thursday, hopefully.

It's been very encouraging to read posts from you gals!

Hi there, Wasa is a crispbread. It has 45 calories, 0 fat, 2 g fiber,2g protein.

How many calories are your crackers and how do they compare with this?

US v's Aussie brands

Linda 717,

I'd say if the Wasa crispbreads were on your program you should be ok, remember the majority of girls are in Australia, so the recommendations for us will be different.

What ever is on your program you can safely use within the recommended amount. I can't even begin to compare the US food stuffs with the Aussie brand, just stick to your plan and you'll succeed.

Can I ask how much you have to lose?

Cryss

Hi again everyone,
Sounds like most of you are still going great, and for those of you who have fallen off the wagon, focus on the fact that you will soon be skinny, and if you can just get through 2 or 3 days, you should go back into ketosis, and then you won't get hungry or have any cravings any more! Good Luck!
Well, a couple of weeks ago my husband surprised me by giving my 2 girls and myself a trip to Scotland for a big family party. Lots of members of my family (from Australia) are going over, and we weren't going to go as we had already organised our trip to Qld, but he decided we should go. So exciting!! I haven't been over since I was a teenager over 20 years ago.
I am a bit worried about what I will be able to eat as we are staying with family members, and won't have any control over our food, but I'm hoping that if I choose carefully I will be able to maintain my weight. If I managed through Christmas etc, I'm hoping it won't be too hard. The main concern is that they eat so many carbs over there.
The biggest positive is that I am thin!!!!!! Most of my relatives haven't seen me since I weighed 112kg, so although they know I have lost weight I think they are in for a big surprise as I now weigh 75 kg. I will also fit into the plane seat much better. The last time I went on a plane was right before I started Cohen's. I weighed 112kg, and was so uncomfortable. I could barely move in the seat. So even with a 24 hour plane trip, I am still looking forward to it.
We leave on Monday, so I probably won't post again before I go, so keep up the great work everyone. You should all be quite a bit lighter when I return, and when I get back, I am going to be joining you all back on Cohen's to lose my last 10 - 15 kg, so will be lookin for inspiration again.
Take care everyone and I'll talk to you when I get back.:)

Welcome Peaches! - Where 'bouts are you from? If you stay focused & dedicated whilst on Cohens, I'm sure without doubt that you too will find it rewarding like all of us.

What an afternoon I've had!! My younger sister, Jess (19) is staying at my house for the week, and for the last 2hrs, we've had the soundtrack of dirty dancing on, & we've been acting like fools, and I've been parading all my "fat" clothes that don't fit me any more 'cos there way too big! 'tis such a great feeling to have lost 20kg so far.

I've stayed at 105kg the last 2 days, but lost a further 7cm off my body this week. I started back at the gym today, cos I havent been over the holidays - everything, especially the cross trainer & situps felt harder to do, but hopefully will get easier again soon.

Question for you all - with the repeat blood tests that we have done, I notice they test for UECR. Does anyone know any further info of what exactly this is? (just for curiosity purposes). I've done a bit of a research on the net, but haven't been able to find much.

When everyone gets down to their goal weight, do you have some outfit or piece of clothing in mind that you'd like to fit into? Are you going to reward yourself with something special?:)
