Hi there, For the question as to where I got my plan, I went to a website, www1stPersonalDiet.com

This is where I registered and paid and all communication will be online. I will not have any personal contact or weigh in's. My program is for 12 weeks and if I reach goal within that time, the refeed is included. There aren't very many locations in the states. I've been trying to locate a website here for chats, but haven't found any. I'm not familiar with your measurings. I'm into pounds and ounces . . .hahaha

Hope this answers your questions . . .I do appreciate the support you all have for each other and hope to become a part of it as well. Thank you all so very much.

In response to Tim’s communication

First of all I think it would be appropriate for us to acknowledge that Tim has taken the time to put together some responses in answer to concerns that we have raised on the forum, history would have dictated that he might have ignored this in the hope that it would go away. Instead he has opted to make himself available to us, which is commendable.

I think Tim has made some extremely valid observations, many of which we all know too well. I think however in some instances the point has been missed somewhat.

With regards to the subject of Support for instance, you are correct in saying that we have an amazing support group, and we are extremely proud of the support this group of strong, positive women provide each other, however, this has come about through necessity and not desire. Had we received the support that we require to complete this program successfully from the clinics we attend, there would be no need for us to provide such a high level of support to each other online. The support we require, doesn’t necessarily come in the form of a phone call or the answer to a question “can I substitute this for that”, the support required on this program is far more complex and not as tangible as many think, you are more often than not dealing with people who have eaten incorrectly for a long period of time, these habits need to change. Sometimes we don’t even understand what we are experiencing. There is a psychological impact that is not acknowledged, supported or addressed at the clinics, and it is imperative that this be addressed for people to be ‘winners’ as you put it, also to ensure that they maintain and understand not only why they are where they are, how they got there and what they need to do to change, permanently. It is simply not a case of handing over an eating plan, and telling someone “finish this and you’ll be a winner”, the behaviour that got many of us to where we are today, is not behaviour that can be changed overnight or without adequate counselling and direction. I personally don’t feel the clinic consultants are equipped to provide this level of support.

Correct Info was the next subject addressed, and I think I can speak for all of us in saying that we live and die (not to sound too dramatic) by obtaining the correct information, I believe you will find that the information shared on this forum is well thought out and investigated, it is provided not only with the best intentions but also with strong supporting evidence of it’s accuracy, the information is also not mandatory to use, it is, like any other support group, there for the taking, people can decide to use it or not. I personally have not had the necessity to ask many questions of the team at the clinic, however, the one time I did regarding cough suppressants, you personally provided me with good information and a definite level of comfort and confidence that this too will pass, and I’d be back on track in no time, which I am.

Opinions, a sticky one given the forum we are using to communicate is of a public nature, and the whole freedom of speech theory etc. However that’s not the tack I wanted to take here. The comments made on this forum about some of the treatment we have received and the support we haven’t received from our clinic is our personal opinion, based upon our perceptions of the standard and quality of treatment/support provided. I don’t believe that anyone who owned their own business would actively go out of their way to treat their customers in a way that could be perceived as inappropriate or unacceptable. Unfortunately, that is the perception that many of us have, and even though it may not be your intent to have us see you in that light, that is our perception, and as a responsible and successful business owner, I would go to great lengths to change those perceptions. I would consider it paramount that my customers perceived me in as positive light as possible. We ALL agree 100% that the Cohen program is a winner, we ALL know if we stick to it, it works, better than any we have tried. There is absolutely nothing derogatory to say about the plan, any derogatory comments or perceptions have come about due to the above subjects, lack support and inappropriate and belittling treatment of us as paying customers.

As for Blood Tests and Pricing, both of these I think are actually driven more so by Cohen head office than the local clinics. The blood test requirements are as set out by Dr Cohen, this can’t be argued with, the treatment of some who maybe don’t adhere to the requirements leaves a lot to be desired, however the requirements themselves are clear. The pricing is different across different countries because you obviously receive less in the states for your initial outlay, one would assume this is due to franchise development, it may well be different in other countries that Dr Cohen has set up businesses.

Tim our intention is not to run your name or that of your consultants through the mud, we only expect to be treated with the respect and understanding we deserve as paying customers who have decided to use a service you provide. I think it all hinges on the support and treatment of people, this is a very emotional time for many of us, making this transformation can often leave you feeling, helpless and vulnerable, compound that with little support and the sometimes inappropriate and belittling treatment, and unfortunately, you will get negative perceptions.

A suggestion would be, to think a little more about the emotional side of what your customers are going through, you can’t always rely on logic and common sense, it’s not like getting your car detailed and treating people like children and speaking down to them will get you nowhere. If you were to be able to provide some level of professional, trained emotional support through these demanding and stressful times, you would see an instant lift in customer satisfaction. This program is extremely difficult and it makes it no easier to adhere to when you have other external forces working against you. Providing adequate support as part of your service would go a long way towards changing perceptions.

Tim, much like you, I hope you see the positives in this post, we are all trying really hard to make significant changes in our lives, it would be great for us to take this journey with you and your team as opposed to against you or in spite of you. The positive feedback and free advertising happy customers provide is priceless, please consider this. :)

Moni, I somehow am 1.3kg lighter that yesterday morning taking me from 122.9 to 121.6 woohoo!

Blood test done yet?

Hi Cryss,

We are well aware that there are limitations in our skills, but you also need to remember that the consultants are people just like you who have completed their own personalised lifestyle program. They are not psychologists or counsellors, nor do we purport to be offering such services. We have looked into the feasibility of managing our own online support forum, but is is problematic no matter how we look at it.

We're thrilled that you are all getting that emotional support in here and encourage that to continue. Keep it positive though. Getting emotionally worked up to the point of swearing and becoming abusive doesn't help anybody (and I'm not talking about you Cryss). "Belittling treatment"? You have my email if you care to tell me where we have belittled you.

You comment about getting the correct information. That's right, most do. But why do we have clients in here flagrantly disregarding the copyright on their program saying they will share it with others who haven't followed the instructions they agreed to in the first place? The intention might be honorable, but the action is anything but. Respect is a two way street.

Everybody in here is in the same boat. I'll be the first to say that it's not as simple as it seems on the surface. Habits do take time to change, but with persistence, they CAN be changed...permanently, and that's what this whole program is all about. Give us your suggestions and we'll take them on board - we're not out to ruin anybody's life! In fact, our survival as depends on the very opposite.

Our role as consultants is to keep you on track as best we are able, and to provide specific answers to questions you have along the way. We do our best to remind hundreds of clients of their blood tests, because it is vital to the success of the program. That being said, it is not our responsibility to do this any more than it is the government's responsibility to remind you to renew your car registration. We're all adults in here. We are all given specific dates to follow, so we need to ensure that we mark them in our diarys and do our part responsibly. This is precisely why we have a lower age limit.

I trust that you have re-done your blood test as agreed before Christmas? The timing of your call just before Christmas may have seemed unfortunate for you at the time, but had we not had any contact until now, it would be well and truly too late for us to do anything to fix the problem. We have not received any results yet, so perhaps you can contact us at the clinic so they can be chased up. We missed you today at the clinic too.

Everybody has setbacks. It's only those who have the courage to rise again that succeed in the long run. Don't give up and don't in! You'll look back and laugh soon enough.

Tim

Hi again
Wow!! stuff going on here.. wish i'd found you guys again soon! so much goss.. only kidding. Well i don't know about using anyone else's refeeding program, i guess taht's what i've been having the blood tests for but thanks!! we'll see what happens, if they let me continue or whatever. Let's hope its good news. Also, how did you guys get the measuring thing at the bottom of your posts? i did that kind of thing on my bathroom mirror with lippy but then i kind of failed. but i'm getting back into the swing of things. food for me has just become this huge thing - i am tending to binge now just on lots of crap even when i'm not hungry. i go to the supermarket and buy stuff and then eat it. but the last week or so i've been getting better at that. although yesterday after netball, who knows why but somehow i got it into my head that i needed chippies even though i wasn't even hungry. so i ate the chippys but didn't even have a proper meal. see???? how do i stop this?? i've been to a hypnotist too!! i think that it's all become a bit too much and not sure what to do. food for me never used to be an issue. i used to eat pretty healthy, not much junk food, lots of exercise. now it's obsessive. is anyone else going through this?? i guess i have to be stronger, but it's messing with my mind!!!!!!
anyway, i want one of those measuring things. how do i get one?
lisa

okay so good on me.... i thought maybe i'll click on teh website that it says!!!

(QUOTE from Cohen Help)

Hi Cryss,

We are well aware that there are limitations in our skills, but you also need to remember that the consultants are people just like you who have completed their own personalised lifestyle program. They are not psychologists or counsellors, nor do we purport to be offering such services. Tim no one has ever suggested that this was something you have purported, it is however a suggestion for improvement. We have looked into the feasibility of managing our own online support forum, but is is problematic no matter how we look at it. Well you have a number of very successful clients on line here who have finished the program, who would be perfect as online resources

Well now that you have mentioned it, belittling treatment, we could start with the title of your post firstly, why other than to embarrass me in public would you title your post Blood test done yet?, for reasons only known to you, you have taken it upon yourself to speak directly with me, about my personal situation on a public forum, to what ends? this does look like an attempt to humiliate me and make me look like I have done the wrong thing.

You comment about getting the correct information. That's right, most do. But why do we have clients in here flagrantly disregarding the copyright on their program saying they will share it with others who haven't followed the instructions they agreed to in the first place? The intention might be honorable, but the action is anything but. Respect is a two way street. Not entirely sure what information you are discussing here that impacts respect, we openly discuss food options, how to drink water, what type of Yogurt, Vitamins, the impact that different crackers might have, how to prepare different meals to provide variety, I really don't see how this has any relevance to respect, and it being a "two way street".

That’s been our point the entire time, your survival and success does depend on US being successful. As for suggestions, I'm sure the other girls have a lot to offer and they in turn may provide you with some ideas for improvement.

This entire paragraph is unnecessary, I'm not sure why you have gone into so much detail about blood tests and reminders for them, would appear that this might be another attempt to make me look bad, but I'll reserve judgment.

Now this paragraph was entirely out of line, if you want to communicate with me about my program and how I am progressing, you are more than welcome to communicate with me via a numer of other avenues, this is not and will not continue to be one of them. We missed you today at the clinic too. And as for missing me, if you checked your records you will see that you actually booked me in for the 2/1/06 a Public Holiday. I will have to re-schedule as I find it hard to get to the clinic during business hours.

Now as you have mentioned the pre xmas blood test, I'll update you publicly on the forum, I didn't make it pre christmas due to being extremely ill for the entire two weeks prior to and post Christmas. I accepted at the time that this may have an impact on the entire program, however I will have to cross that bridge when I reach it, I am due for another blood test today, so I'll have that completed and see what Dr Cohen advises, I am sure he is a resonable man and has the ability to work in not so perfect environments, I think the benefit for me is the huge amount of weight I have to lose, and the number of blood tests expected in that time may see that missing the first of six might be something he can manage.

Everybody has setbacks. It's only those who have the courage to rise again that succeed in the long run. Don't give up and don't in! You'll look back and laugh soon enough.

You are preaching to the converted Tim, this is our daily mantra.

Cryss

Water

HOW MUCH WATER HAVE YOU ALL HAD TODAY?????

5 LTS FOR ME........

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK EVERYONE.

Just testing out this photo stuff.

The photo on the far right was taken on a holiday to Perth. The holiday itself was a nightmare. Very hot weather and my point blank refusal to wear anything other than long pants (black) and cardigans (black again). I sweated my way around Perth and refused to be in any photos. This one snuck in. I knew that this was a turning point for me and started investigating various options.

Starting weight 73kg (might be as high as 77kg, as I was using older scales)
Size 14 - 16 pants.
Tops - XL or 16

NOW:-

1st Photo weight 61.5kg
Size 10 pants
Size small top

2nd photo - my face is a little thinner (this is the last place I lose weight)

3rd photo - wearing a size 14 pants. I can now pull these up and down over my hips.

Myshy

P.s Moni - 3.5 litres for me today. Very late start - means I am going to be up all night peeing :(

Well Ladies & Gentlemen,
I don’t know what to say about things here at the moment, I liked it much better before and I really think the TIM should now be contacting Cryss direct as we have all heard enough and we definitely don’t want anyone getting upset. Yes, it is personal and not for a public forum, I totally agree, so hopefully we won’t be seeing any more of it. Points have been made and points have been taken and everything will work out in a professional manner and not on this forum, I’m sure. Cohen’s is a fantastic weight reduction program, we all know that, and the support here is just fantastic. Keep it up everyone, some of use have been there and made it, some just on the border of making it, new people just starting and others that have completely finished. We have everyone one here at every point of their journey and we are all going to give each other the very best support ever. KEEP IT UP GIRLS YOU ARE ALL WINNERS……:)

CASEY: Why don’t you join in with Moni & Cryss in the 10kgs club. That way we can all have the BIGGEST LOOSER right here on our forum. Hey does anyone else want to join in……MYSHY, your definitely not allowed, we can be the judges.

LISAB: Have just sent you an email with all the TICKER info. You can get back on track no problems, you just have to commit yourself again, sounds easy doesn’t it, but just don’t even think of eating that stuff. How much do you have to loose. Would love to know your starting and goal weight if you don’t mind.

CRYSS: Congratulations, you are doing great, next time I see you, you will definitely be out of the 120 mark, guaranteed.

MYSHY: Your pictures are just fantastic. I will take one of me in my size 18 jeans that I just purchased months before going on the diet. They now fall down when they are done up. If I need help with popping them on can you assist me and also the photo on the very first part, how do I do that. I think you have my email address.

4.75 litres yesterday.

Have a great day everyone and remember for those who might be tempted, stop, think, and just before it hits your lips and then just throw it way, you can do it;) .....JOY
